Glad this is enjoyable for all it sure has been for me! Animal Kingdom and we are almost done...
Animal Kingdom
This was a totally different park but also very nice! Easy to Navigate and just enough activities to enjoy it all in one day.
I have heard this was the hottest park for Disney but I have to say I found Magical Kingdom to be way hotter. The Kingdom had a lot of shade from their jungle like set up. But in the middle of summer I am sure just about anywhere is hot.
We did the Safari and this was awesome. But I do recommend doing the jungle boat ride in MK first becuase after your do the sefari the Jungle ride is no longer the same. We in fact skipped it (Done it twice at
Disneyland). The only thing that bothered me about Animal Kingdom was when people wait in line they let their kids rip all the leaves off the tree and break off branch's and don't even care. Grrr... Here you are in a park that is selling perserving nature and people treat it like this was their back yard. Sorry a bit of a tree hugger I am....
Expedition Everest was down for a portion of the day but once it was back up it was great.
We made the mistake of thinking we would grab some breakfast at the park. It was the end of our trip and we were out of our groceries and the line at the hotel was ugly. So we thought we can find a muffin or something somewhere. Ummmm...Nooooo... Disney would benefit from a simple snack stand. There was nothing open in fact except for the rain forest cafe.
Speaking of the Rain Forest Cafe we went there for lunch. It was a neat experience but to be hinest I enjoyed their gift shop more than their restaurant. They were very exspensive BUT they each meal is enough for two. Really suggest sharing when you eat here. They were VERY efficient and there is lots of room as there is seating for 1000 people in there. And they have a nice gift shop!
At Animal Kingdom we learned that if you need medical supplies (tylenol, cough drops etc.) you can ask for them at the Disney stores and they have them behind the counter for you to buy. My husband got a cold and needed drops and to our suprise he asked at a gift shop and they brought out a plastic basket with a whole bunch of medical type stuff.
We rode Dinosaur and although it was intense it was a great ride. This is the only ride we bought a ride picture from for 18.00. It takes a good picture because it snaps a shot when you are looking into the camera at something scary so I laughed my pants off when I saw it. These pictures also make for a great memory years later. My husband and I still laugh at our old Splash Mountain picture from 8 years ago and this new one is even better!
We did not find this park hard to get around or too big. We liked all the animals although some I did feel their spaces were a bit too small and too close to screaming people (dwarf deer were terrified in their enclosure).
This was also a good park for Character Signings. They had Stitch out late which was my daughters favourite so we were happy to get his signature!
All in all another great day and another great park!
