Checked out of Renaissance at 10.15. and drove down to St Petes, stopping at Bob Evans for brunch. Sunshine skillet, yoghurt & fruit, banana bread, OJ, coffee $16 ex tip. GF developed an addiction to Bob Evans Banana Bread on our trip last year. She had been looking forward to a Bob Evans visit from the moment we booked our flights! Sadly, they seem to have changed the recipe and although it was good didnt rate a full thumbs up!
Visited Ellenton Mall, which is an outlet mall similar to Belz. There are often some very, very good deals to be found here. Its a twenty minute drive from St Petes beach (I275 over the Sunshine Skyway bridge) near Bradenton. Amazingly nothing was purchased! Filled the car up with gas and dropped by a Big Kmart - hair drier(?) and cookies. Resisted the temptation to buys loads of cakes and biscuits. I have learnt that they always look better than they taste. I was told to try a Twinky on a previous holiday. It was almost enough to put me off chocolate for life.
Met up with parents and went to a real, American, (forgive me for this) redneck bar. Line dancing not me! I played a couple of frames of pool. This was the first time I had been carded (asked for ID) in a long time. Especially amusing as I turn 30 in a few days time!
Left the ladies dancing and hunted for a chemists/shop to get digipics put onto cd - Walgreens $0.29 per pic + $4 cd. 130 pics = $45!!!! Ritz Camera - $8 per cd!!!
For dinner - Steak and shake. Best burgers ever! This has been a long time family favourite. The shakes are amazing. - $35 ex tip (for four of us well five is you consider the amount I ate!)
Bed for 11.30pm
