As a new camper to FW, I have been welcomed into the FW family with open arms. All of my questions have been answered with kindness and excitement that is usually not seen on message boards.
I now find myself waiting for the next update on many TR's, getting excited about the new merchandise and waiting for Frank to catch "The Big One".

Thank you all for adding a little more magic to my day.

Ellura,

I for one am glad you had a good experience. Those of us on the DIS Camping Board are happy to share our love and knowledge of the Fort with anyone who wants to know more. We kid about wanting to hear about people's trip reports, more pictures, and hearing someone offer an opinion different than our own without the snark. Thats why the DIS is the best Disney fan site on the web and the Camping Board is for us cabin and camping folks.

So my only comeback to you is "do you have a visit to the Fort planned?" I get the blues whenever I leave the fort and scheduling a return trip is a sure cure. Always need to have a visit planned sometime in the future.

Denise is catching the big ones right now, and doing a most excellent job of it too, :goodvibes

Earlier this week we got the pleasure of meeting some long time Friends of the Fort. They are very sweet and wonderful people. I saw first hand how helpful these fine folk are when Newbies parked a new RV next to them. As it turned out, the RV dealer sold them the RV, hooked it up for them and didn't show or tell them beans about their RV set-up.
These wonderful Fort Friends took their time to help , show and try to explain everything they could to help the new campers.

Over the years at the Fort and other campgrounds, I have seen and experienced the helpful and good nature of fellow campers. It really is a good thing.

Happy camping to you and your's.

Ellura, thank you for saying thank you. It seems to be 2 lost words in the English language these days. I wish you magical trips to WDW and The Fort. And Happy Camping.

My DH and I have often commented on how camping folks are some of the best people in the world. We have been the recipients of that kindness on many occasions and always try to "pay it forward" when we get the chance. In all the years of tent camping (1981-1997), camping in our pop up (1997-2001), and then camping in our travel trailer and 5th wheel (2001-present), we have had exactly 2 things go missing from our campsites.....one may have been due to the wind blowing it away and the other we suspect some kids. On the positive side, we have been fed and offered all kinds of assistance when mechanical things just didn't go right.....DH is NOT mechanically minded....so it has always been a blessing when people who were have jumped in and fixed things that he couldn't. :grouphug:

I agree! This is a great place with a great bunch of folks that are willing to help out with questions, no matter how big or small :)

And Ellura - in a mere 3 weeks you'll be experiencing the wonders of the Fort and making your own observations and experiences to share here with others. And a trip report while you're there wouldn't hurt...just sayin' :rolleyes1

Ellura - I know exactly what you mean. I was a long time lurker on this board and finally decided to join last year. Took awhile to start posting but once you join in, it definitely starts to have a community feel. Everyone has always been so helpful and it's great to have a place like this to come to and relax while thinking about your next FW trip.

Hope you have a great trip; the Fort will sure be special at Christmastime.

I felt the same way about joining! I too was a "lurker" for quite sometime. I had been to FW many times in the late 80's and 90's but it had been about 15yrs since staying there. We had a great time when there in October of this year. This forum helped so much with all my questions about what to expect this time around. Even now that I am home and no future plans yet about when I will get back to FW, I am excited to read about other's trips. Happy camping!!

We are so excited that we added another night. :cool1:

I accidentally-on-purpose made reservations for our flight home on the wrong day! :scared1:

Oh well...I guess we'll just have to stay an extra night...

Also, I think we will be at FW at the same time! We rented and RV for 12/5 to 12/15 :goodvibes Our kids have no idea we are going! Well, the baby does, but she can't talk yet, so my secret is safe!!!

Yes, you are correct, this is a very friendly board and it's not hard to get excited when talking about the Fort. There's always someone willing to jump in and answer any question that might come up. I'm sure you are going to have a super time at the Fort and don't forget to tell us all about it.
