Thanks for posting the link. It’s encouraging to hear that Shanghai will begin to reopen next Monday. All eyes will be on them to see what works and what doesn’t work as far as social distancing is concerned. Expanding on that for a resort as big as WDW will be the biggest challenge.
Those are mandated by the Chinese government and not by Disney. The Florida task force set 50% capacity as the limit upon opening of theme parks and only CMs are required to wear masks.
I listened to the analyst call, they are being very cautious. They will open to less than the capacity mandated by the Chinese government. They will require dated tickets or AP reservations so they don't go over capacity and have to turn people away. They seem to be taking this very seriously, they aren't going to just open the gates as soon as they can and for as many people as they can. They repeated that they have no opening date for US parks.
It was very interesting that under any operating scenario Chapek mentioned a few times that it will be with net contribution margin positive financial dynamic. He also mentioned that labor CM's were far and away the parks largest operating expense. There are a certain amount of fixed costs to operate a park (insurance, taxes, etc..) but it sounds like park capacity will an interesting algorithm of public safety and profits.

It would not surprise me if Disney will not have many discounts or promotions (besides those with cancelled reservations) to manage to the limited capacity of the parks. Who knows, the price of tickets may even have to go up.
The good thing about DIsney World compared to some of their other locations, is the magic bands. They can limit park guests easily to onsite guests and/or AP holders with a simple scan.

They need to do something about security checks. My wife's small bag is always rummaged including her small makeup container, and then we have to put her bag, my wallet and keys, etc. in one of those dirty little buckets. This can't go on!
According to a Reuters Asia article published yesterday, Shanghai Disneyland tickets are selling out quickly as the park prepares to re-open.
May 11 (opening day) thru May 14 sold out...weekend dates May 16-17 also sold out. Apparently May 11 and May 16 sold out in 3 minutes.
I wouldn't be surprised if reaction will be similarly enthusiastic once Disney announces re-opening in Orlando. Question is how will Disney manage park entry with differnet types of ticket holders, who has priority, etc.
