A "Merry" Birthday celebrating being FIve with The Fab Five. a PTR Dec 2011

Looks great, Grace!!

That's a good idea to drop the hoppers to save money, but I couldn't do it...I like to have the freedom to change parks if it get crowded (and it certainly does in December now, not like before the word got out that early Dec was quiet - no more!).

I also really like to go back to the resort for a bit and then go to a different park in the evening...BUT...if the savings made a difference I would do it too. Right now, I only have me to worry about and pay for, but it it was more, then I would definitely consider a base tkt.

Sorry about your computer...that is the pits!

Glad you had a great Memorial Day - mine was quiet, but good. :)

I have never had a park hopper in WDW. It just seems that there is more than enough to keep us busy in one park.... or touring other resorts that it is the one area I can cut costs. I know it isn't for everyone... but for us it works. Now... my dd just got back from her disneymoon and she had hoppers. She said she would not go without them again. Course... this is her and her dh.. not her, her dh, a child in a stroller and three other kids. I think a small group is easier to have bop around. Just my 2 or 3 cents.

I think you're right about 2 adults, a stroller and 3 other kids making hoppers not as easy or as much fun! I would concentrate on one park a day too.:thumbsup2

We've been going since there was just the MK, so when EPCOT opened it was one tkt for both parks and hopping was encouraged for no extra charge. Actually, the hopping extra cost only started a few years ago. I was stunned when Disney did that - it had always been a perk of a tkt - what was then called a "passport". It was also good FOREVER!! So many years Disney would call the tkts hoppers, but the price was never extra.

The tkts have gotten so much more expensive since they added the hopper and no-expiration options.:sad1:

That is interesting. I know we had gone to DL for years and their ticket (for one price) got you into both parks. I wonder if they are doing the one park a day thing now too...

Hi Christine
Thanks for the comment we are working hard on getting a plan:goodvibes

This will be our 1st trip where we did not have the park hopper option.
Corri has worked hard on figuring which park on which day and planning where to eat. I very glad she is catching the magic.
We will put the saving ( not sure of how much yet) Toward

Mickey's Christmas Party:woohoo::cool1:

My computer is very old and slow I got a virus last winter and burned my up I now using one with a windows 2000 program and some time it doesnt work quite right, Right now I using Corri's and it wonderful. just me who makes mistakes now:lmao:

How Sophia doing?

I try later to give the rest of our plans,

Grace

I have to agree that the park hopper is an expense that just is not worth it this trip. I am going to better use my touring plan subscription and do the ridemax...in addition to rope drop to get in everything I want to do (which is everything :rotfl2:).

I used the park hopper last year, but it was just me and my boss...it came in handy because we were able to do 3 parks in 2 1/2 days...with a family I can't see us moving that fast!

I am looking foward to breakfast at 1900 park fare...we made the strawberry soup recipe from there and my oldest ds is addicted to it. I ate at the GF Cafe last summer and had the lobster benedict...can't wait to have them again at 1900!

Now THAT is worth dropping the hopper option! You will love it!! I am not a big fan of parades, but I LOVE the Christmas parade and every time Santa comes around the corner I get all teary and wave like crazy just like a little kid.:lovestruc I am so happy you'll be attending..and it saves a whole park day because you can enter the MK at 4 with your MVMCP tkt!!

Also, how wonderful Corri is catching the magic!!

Sophia is great - can you believe she will begin preschool 2 days a week in the Fall?! She'll be 3 Sept 2nd - incredible!!

Here she is a few weeks ago in a new apron my friend sent for her (took this with my cell phone, sorry it's not so great) - it is such a cute apron -has her name embroidered on the front!

Can you believe when Rosie and I go for our birthday (or if I go with Sophia and DD before that) it will be my 50th trip!! I'm kind of embarrassed to even admit that - but we have been going since August of '81 and we went twice a yr for several yrs - 6 ngts in the summer and a long weekend in the winter to get out of the cold. It was MUCH more affordable back then - the Poly was only $79 a night and airfare was very affordable - usually one child went free per adult ($119 per ad). Only one or two parks, so it was less than $50 a child (after EPCOT opened, half that before). All tkts were good forever and included both parks everyday.

No moderate resorts until 1988 when CBR opened and we did stay there because the Poly price had gone up to $150 plus tx by then.

Very different back then. Must run..Sophia is crying -she is very over tired. Poor baby.

Thanks for the comment of the plans, you know how hard to can be to try to figure things out , think you got and something changes them. I proburable change things again before the end.:lmao::rotfl2:

The Dole whips are VERY VERY VERY GOOD!!! Especially on a hot day:thumbsup2
I learned about them here on the DIS, and shared that info with my family. My Daughter Corri loves them too. I sure that wont be the only day we have one. We usually share one, makes the snak credit go futher.
Also heard about a gingerbread funnel cake topped with peppermint ice creme, thats onle served at the hoildays, looking forward to that one too.

Hope you little ones are feeling better.:goodvibes
Grace

:banana:Dreaming of a dole whip....if you like pineapple these are soooo good!

Thanks! The girls are both feeling better now that we got them some medicine. :)

I am most def putting "get a Dole Whip" on my must do list for MK. My husband thinks I am out of my mind for even thinking about putting a drink on our must do list.. But oh well. LOL. :-)

You must must must see the Gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian! Its awesome but I may be biased because my uncle helped build it last year and was asked if he would like to do it again this year. :) I have yet to see one in person ( I never even knew the TGF did that ) but this year I'm totally stopping by to see it.

Hi Grace !!I am back from Lake George !! I LOVE the DoleWhip Floats !!Perfect for me for this August!!!!
