a member of our team was banned

One of the team memebers on the Slide Team was banned today for a month. I don't know what he did. This means he won't be back on VMK in tome for the competition.

What will VMK do. Anyone have this happen in Everest?

I am worried that we will be disqualified which will be really sad for everyone as since we got an acceptance we have been working on our rooms so they are almost finished.

I wrote to VMK but you know how long that can take and I figured that asking here would be faster.

I recall a friend of mine had a team where one person was banned. The team was disqualified from the event. There were several teams I believe who were disqualified because of one individual failing to follow vmk values. Sorry to hear about that.

You might be disqualified. But the team member shouldn't have joined a team if he was going to be irresponsible and get banned.

I am kind of feeling that we will be disqualified.

As for not joining a team if you are going to be irresponsible. I don't know what he did but this board is always full of unfair bans so I don't think that is a fair statement at all.

He is a nice kid so I doubt he planned on this happening and his email to me about being banned was heartfelt in his knowing that he let his team down.

I was banned for a month Ip and did not even know there was an everest ride contest I missed bat magic super suits and alot of new stuff but Im glad I was not in a team and they said I was copying a staff member I did not even know what staff was because I was new and never saw any.

No the teams are set...As far as being banned itself if the ride is up for the event and connected allready you may be ok. If the person was going to be back by judgeing I know it would be fine, we had a everest team peorson with short ban and it was no problem, but if thier room is not linked in finished and named it will most likely be DQ for the team....Which actually beats not knowing if the team was accepted or not.

This did happen to our team during the Everest event and they let us compete. You might try PMing Carrieberry (SP?) or Karonzet, as they may remember more details about it.

This happened to my friend's team during the everest event. She wrote to VMK via contact us and explained the situation. They were kind enough to let her replace the banned team member, as long as she made no other changes to the team. So I suggest you write to them asap, and keep your fingers crossed that they will do the same for you this time

Thanks for all of your imput I have written to VMK but since there are so many people not even knowing if their teams are registered, I don't expect a fast answer from them.

Lisa, I was on the team with Out, and yes one of ours was banned for a month. The situation at that time was that Carrieberry had just submitted the registration that morning, the day of the ban occurring. As it was the same day, VMK did accept the "revised" registration leaving that player's name off our roster. The rest of us covered by creating the rooms that would have been done by that person.

However in your case, IF that team member has already created the room(s), AND the room(s) are connected correctly with the teleporters, AND the room is not on friends only AND that person is not the team captain - then you should be able to compete without any issue. Simply because that person does not have to be physically there for the judging. (But that is a lot to hope for.)

If the above is not your case, yes, I am afraid you have to wait for the 'black hole', in which case.. Anyway, best of luck with it, I hope your team can go forward with the competition!
