A (MAY)be PTR Updated 5/1

Sunday May 6th

As I mentioned before we will be leaving bright and early that Sunday, even though I thought we would not be flying out so early. We (the adults) will have to wake up at 4:45am which is actually not as early as last year.:thumbsup2 My goal is to have all bags packed and downstairs by the door Saturday night, so all we have to do is get dressed and go.
We should head off to the airport at around 5:30am and should arrive at La Guardia at 6:00am. I'm estimating 40 minutes for check-in and security, so we should be at our gate enjoying airport breakfast at about 7:00am. The plane is scheduled to depart at 7:55am so I'm guessing boarding will start at about 7:30am.

Once on the plane I hope that Michael falls asleep. I plan on bringing him entertainment if he doesn't. I am just praying he handles the plane ride better than last year. I am not a nervous flier and will probably take that time to read. We are scheduled to arrive at MCO at 10:40am.

I'm estimating getting to the hotel at about noon. I'm factoring in getting to the DME location at MCO, which may take a little longer if we stop to buy anything. The wait for our bus and the traffic which may or may not be busy. Hopefully check in will be a breeze... I am a fan of online check in and have had good experiences with that in the past.

If our room is ready we will probably check it out then head over to the food court for lunch. Once lunch is done we would go back to our rooms so the Michael can take his afternoon nap, and I will take the time to unpack. Once Michael wakes up we will head to DTD browse... maybe shop.

If our room is not ready we will leave our packages with baggage desk and head out to DTD. We will have lunch at EOS and then do our browsing and shopping.

Either one of these scenarios is fine with me, the only difference for me is that if Michael gets to nap we go to DTD stroller-less. If not then we will have to bring his stroller.

We are excited to go DTD during the day, because we have only been there at night, and there is so much more we have left to see,

Our goal is to try new things every trip so we decided to get right to it. We originally had an ADR at Shutters at CBR on arrival night, but that changed. I couldn't find as much information as I would have liked to be happy with my choice. So for those of you who have stayed a shutters before how is it?

Since we weren't sure about Shutters and were already going to be at DTD we decided to give Raglan Road a try. We have a 6:45 ADR and after we well head to back to CBR and get to bed.

This is what I'm looking forward to at Raglan Road:

* The live music and dancing!
* The bread pudding!!

I am always so impressed with you fliers getting up so early to get to Disney! :worship: (we always drive) It would be nice to get to Orlando so early in the day, though. I think your arrival day plans sound great - I love a nice, relaxed arrival day, and it seems like that's exactly what you're going to have. :thumbsup2 I think Raglan Road sounds like a great choice! We've never been there, but it is on my list of places to try. Their bread pudding sounds delicious! :goodvibes

Your first day plans sound wonderful! :goodvibes I love getting to Disney in the morning and to the resort before lunch!

We ate at Shutters last summer. It was okay. Nothing great though, so you aren't missing much by skipping it.

Hiya Bicki! Found your PTR and am subbing.

Alright!! :cool1:

It's all about getting a good rate, the later flights are always more expensive, so its either fly out early or fly out late. After last year we decided no more parks on arrival day for awhile. It's just too much with a small child, so a nice relaxing day is a great way to start. I've been hearing a lot about that bread pudding really looking forward to giving it a try.

Thank you, I think we might be eating there later on in the week, we have nothing planned for one night. We'll see how that goes.

Signing on! I am excited to hear about your plans!

Hey welcome aboard!

We ate at Raglan Road a few trips ago. We really liked it, and it was for an early lunch so no dancing and singing. I'm sure it'd be even better with that added in!

Yay I have read really good reviews about this place so I have high hopes. I didn't know they didn't have the singing and dancing for lunch :confused3

I'm another May DISer! :) Joining in to hear your plans!

Welcome! I noticed your TR link in the bottom of your siggy, I'll be over to check it out in a few ;)

One thing I learned from reading several trip reports here, and from my experience last year IT IS HARD to have commando style touring plans with a small child. Who am I kidding?? We’re not that kind of family anyway we like to have a plan but flexibility is the key. For this trip I will do what I did last year make a list of the things we must do, also new things we want to try.

This years list will be more ambitious than last years since I’m not planning any mid-day back to the hotel naps. Michael used to nap for 2 hours every afternoon from 12pm-2pm like clockwork. Now not so much, he does nap almost everyday but sometimes the naps range from an hour to an hour and a half. If he’s too excited about something he won’t nap at all, I’m thinking that is going to happen A LOT on this trip. So my plan for this year is if he falls asleep John and I will take a break and explore the detailing that we miss all the time, people watch and maybe grab a snack.

ON TO DHS:

It will be 5/7 and DHS will be open from 9am-9pm with EMH from 9pm-12am.

We had lunch at Hollywood and Vine last year. We didn't really care for the food but we really enjoyed the characters and Michael had a great time since he really like Disney Junior. This year we'll trying it again this time for breakfast. So we are starting with an 8:20am ADR at H&V. Which means we will probably still be eating when the park opens at 9, which is ok with me. Do they even do anything special for RD at DHS?

Once we finish breakfast and before we do anything else there are two things we have to do get FPs for TSM and ST. Last year we did not get to ride TSM, and it was something we really wanted to do. :sad2: So this year it is a MUST! Also we are really excited about Star Tours and can't wait to ride it. So here is our morning must do, new to us rides are in bold:

[Toy Story Mania
Star Tours (We haven't been on the new one yet)
Disney Junior Live
Beauty and the Beast
Little Mermaid
Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground (if we have time before lunch)

For lunch we have a 12:40 ADR at the Sci-Fi dine-in, another first for us. This day is a 3 ADR day, heavy on the ADRs but I find that DHS doesn't have a lot of dining options. :confused3

I'm guessing we will be done with lunch around 2pm. What we do next will depend on Michael's mood. If he is tired we might do some store visiting, that will probably make him doze off  If he's up and ready to go we will keep on with our list of to do's. For the afternoon this is what I have on our list:

Lights, Motors, Action!
Muppets 3D
Walt's Dream

I have nothing else for the rest of the afternoon. So it will be anything goes for the rest of the afternoon... :cool2: We might watch the parade if Michael is interested if not we will probably do some character meets.

We have a 6:30 dinner ADR at Mama Melrose, which will also be new for us! After we will get ready for Fantasmic which is scheduled for 9. There is only one show as of now so I know that line will be long. Does anyone know if that Fantasmic package is worth it? How does it work? All I know is that you have some special reserved section in the theatre.

Lastly, remember those EMH I mentioned? Well last year on Mondays they had a Disney Junior dance party, it was something that I wanted to do but never got around to it. If we aren't completely exhausted we will try again this year! :goodvibes If not we will head back to CBR after Fantasmic! and get ready for our next day!

It sounds like it will be a perfect day at DHS!! Hope your lil giu cooperates and you don't have to head back to the hotel for nap time.

You have an adorable son. I like your planning style with the laid back approach and the must-do list. Can't wait to read more popcorn::

I like your plan to be flexible! I don't think the crowds will be too bad when you go, so not having a plan will be just fine. =) The good thing is that you know you will be back at some point, and this isn't your first time, so you won't feel the need to go commando.

Great plans so far!

Your plans for DHS sound good so far!

We've never eaten at Mama Melrose either, but my sister and her family love it! I've been wondering how the fact that Fantasmic! is scheduled every night affects the crowds for it? When Disney was only showing it 3-4 nights a week, the crowd/lines were terrible.

Looks like a great first day plan. We did H&V one morning when it was an EMH morning at DHS, they didn't do anything special for rope drop that we could see (but it was really crowded).

Star Tours is great, probably my favorite ride in all the parks since the refurb. It has a height restriction of 38 or 40", and my oldest was pretty freaked out on it, but she has recently really gotten into Star Wars so I'm hoping she'll try it out again with me this year.
