A May 2010 PTR: I Got A Job....Let's Go See Mickey!*Update 4/15!!

awwww just love the 1st birthday pictures!! Those are the best colors in the world!! Those are actually going to be my colors for my wedding...when i do get married...:rotfl:! And she was sooo not messy with the cake!! So adorable! Loving the princesses also!

Great birthday party photos. She has great table manners for a one year old.:) DD couldn't get enough cake with her fingers so she stuck her face in it. Looks like you had a great time.

What a special birthday party! I wish I had a little girl... pink is so fun!

Thanks! I love having a little girl! :lovestruc

Great pics from the birthday party!

The cake looked too good to let Sarak Kate smash it! ;);)

Juliana has the same big Cinderella doll. It sleeps in her bed (along with 10 other stuffed animals) every night.:)

Thanks! She actually didn't do much damage to the cake. She wasn't all that into it for some reason. :confused3 Maybe if it had been chocolate. :rotfl: Too cute about Juliana!

Oh girl--I'm loving the pink/brown (Claire's bedroom is decorated in pink/brown)!! Sooo pretty!! Love the smash cake and cupcakes!! It looks like Sarah Kate had a great party!! Love the blanket and the princess dolls--too cute!! :goodvibes

Thanks! I am obsessed with pink/brown for her. Her room is in those colors, diaper bag, a LOT of her clothes....it is a sickness, really! :lmao:

Great b-day pix!

Too cute!

Thanks! :goodvibes

So cute! She looked like she had so much fun!! I love pink and brown too! Great idea bout Pink Lemonade and Sweet tea~!:cheer2:

Thanks! I honestly can't take the credit for the drink idea - I saw it on a blog somewhere. :rotfl:

I love the birthday pictures, thanks for sharing them with us :goodvibes. The cupcakes do look yummy and the decorations are really pretty. We have a lot of Mom's using the pink and brown or the blue and brown themes for babies's nurseries.

Thanks! Pink/blue and brown is really popular right now around here, too.

How stinkin' cute!!! I love the birthday party! Everything looks soooo great! Did you make the banner? I will have to come up with something like that for Ella's birthday. I have more than 5 months to think about it, though. :cutie:

I love your beverage servers! I have really been wanting one of those. I think you've convinced me to buy one.

:rolleyes1Caroline's room is pink and brown, too! It sounds like that is a popular color scheme.

Thanks! I didn't make the banner; I bought it on etsy. I'll send you the link to the shop if you want it. :thumbsup2

The drink dispensers are great! I found them at Target like 2 days before the party. They weren't that expensive either!

Sarah Kate's room is pink and brown also. It is extremely popular around here!

Happy Birthday, Sarah Kate (you little cutie-pie!) :cutie:

Sorry I missed your double-digit day... can I still dance with you?

Thanks for the birthday wishes! :goodvibes And for dancing with me! :cool1:  Love your dancing smilies, btw. Might have to steal them. :rolleyes1

Aw, Julia, sweet birthday party for Sarah Kate! I love it when they dig into that cake. I remember my girls not wanting to get their hands dirty, until I got a taste into their mouth, then you couldn't keep them out of that cake!

Sounds like you had sweet day! :goodvibes

Thanks! Neither of my kids like to get their hands dirty, but give them a fork and they will tear in! We had a wonderful day!! :goodvibes

Too funny about your DD! Both of my kids are weird about getting their hands dirty for some reason. :confused3 :rotfl:

YAY! :yay: Dakoda's birthday looks great! LOVE  breakfast at Tusker House---the juice is so yummy and I think Chef Mickey's is a great choice for a little one's birthday dinner! :thumbsup2

I can't remember..........Are you doing a custom cake for his birthday meal?

I am planning on doing a custom cake for him. Probably just one of the Mickey head ones, but I'm not 100% sure yet.

Teppan Edo & Chef Mickey's are two of our favorites! :thumbsup2

Ours too! :goodvibes

Awe! Thanks for sharing the pictures of Sarah Kate's birthday party. We did a smaller party for my DD too--just grandparents, aunt and uncles. I love the cake and cupcakes! Too cute!! Pink and brown is one of my favorite color combination. Sounds yummy too! The drink containers--I like them a lot. Care to tell me where you got them? :upsidedow Looks like everyone had a great time celebrating!

I am really looking forward to trying TH! What a great birthday in the works for Dakoda.

Thanks!! I got the drink containers at Target. They had a couple different sizes/shapes. They're available online, too! :thumbsup2

The sauces are awesome at Teppan Edo
Tell me about it! I am not usually a condiment person - I eat everything plain - but I dream about that ginger sauce.

No debating here....I've already been there, done that! ;)

So, "that's nice", tell me about the cake! :)

It took me that long to make a decision! ;) I must have looked at pictures of a thousand cakes and saved 100 or so to my computer to study even more! :lmao:

I ended up ordering an 8'' chocolate cake with white chocolate mousse covered with pink butercream frosting with a white chocolate Cinderella statue on it. It is for my DD 4th birthday dinner at 1900 Park Fair.

I was looking for elaborate and searching the cake threads for weeks. I didn't want to spend over $80 or so... there is going to be 7 of us eating it so I really didn't need it to be bigger than 8''. I was thinking a pink fondant but she loves frosting so then I decided against it. UGGGGGG

My daughter loves chocolate cake and pink so thats how I ended up with this version of the cake. :lmao:

I've done the cake thing the past two years and I think we will skip it this time. We are on the DDP so desserts are included and the cake will just go to waste.

So sorry that I haven't been around as much lately. There is a big consignment sale coming up soon, and I've been trying to sort through the kids clothes and figure out which ones to sell and which ones to keep. I'm not planning on having any more kids, but there are several items that I've become attached to for various reasons, and I just can't bring myself to part with them. :lovestruc

I'm a sentimental fool.

In other news, Darren got an email at work the other day that they were offering a limited number of discounted Dollywood tickets. (We live about an hour and a half from Gatlinburg.) Regular price is about $56, and they were selling them for $30. Kids 4 and under get in free. Of course, I told him to snatch up a couple for us! They mentioned in the email that the tickets were able to be upgraded to annual passes, so of course I had to look into that. Regular APs are $79/each, or you can get a SuperPass, which is good for both Dollywood AND Splash Country, for $128. Thanks to hubby's work discount, two SuperPasses will end up costing us a total of $204.20. I'm super excited! Dollywood has a ton of festivals throughout the year, besides all the permanent shows and attractions. I'm especially looking forward to Smoky Mountain Christmas. I've never been to Splash Country, but I looked at their website and they have a ton of stuff that I think the kids will enjoy. Not to mention we live close enough that DH and I can take a couple of day trips by ourselves and enjoy the "big kid" attractions at both places. Now it just needs to warm up so we can go!!

On the Disney front - I'm starting to get the itch. The itch to make changes. :headache: I've been second-guessing myself about CBR. Please don't hurt me! :duck::rotfl: Every time I read a TR of someone who stayed at Pop, I remember how much we loved it and wonder if I should mess with a good thing. I mean, we loved everything about Pop. The food court. . . the pools. . . the Goofy jets. . . the bus system. . . the gift shop. . . the room. . . the decor.

BUT I still love the look of CBR and think that we could really enjoy our time there. AAAAHHH!!! Decisions, decisions. :surfweb:
