A Make A Wish Trip - Final Update!! Pg. 33

Finally caught up again! Someday we will head on over to Universal but only if I can stay in one of their hotels for the FOTL access. I love the pic of Michael in the balls! Sounds like a pretty good day!

I love your cliff hangers! :lmao: Thanks for the report on Universal. We are thinking we will do at least one of those parks. My DD would love to see Dora!! Can't wait to read about your last day!!!

thanks. I think they're so lame. I'm usually so tired at the end of my report I can't think what happened th next day. LOL

Wendy...

You were a VERY busy lady last night. Thanks for all the updates! Danae, as usually, is just adorbable. I love the smile on her face with Baby Bop. My kids are past barney too...we may have a mutiny if I make them take pics with Barney. I would like to though and send it to my little neices, who are NOT past Barney..."look...your Aunt knows important purple people." It would have to make me their favorite! ;) My son Jake was just looking over my shoulder and saw the Baby Bop pictures and said..."ooo...I think we are going to miss that." He is so grown up now at 7.

I absolutley LOVE Micheal's wolf slippers. My sister had some similar ones that were elephants and she too wore them every where, even in public. She named them even..."effie"...she was a junior in high school though...Glad to see Mick let him wear them....

Thanks for all the great Universal Tips. When I made our ADR there, they warned me that it was a long walk in. They also said that sometimes those moving walkways are not working...fingers crossed here.

That character with Zorro's name is loosely translated from Spanish as "the woman Kirk Douglas was dang lucky to get to marry him" or something like that.

Have a great day...

Elisa

Too funny about your son wanting to miss Barney. I was actually suprised when Michael said No to Barney as he had gotten into some of the others but I guess he's outgrown him.

Mick is the indulgent parent, I suppose. LOL I did my best to not be so domineering this trip. :rotfl: I figured telling people what to do and where to go all day could get kind of tiring.

I hope you have a great time at Universal. The workers were very gracious and the extra little "perks" were great. It was also nice they had those play areas as the kids were able to have some nice "free time".

LOL about Catherine Zeta Jones (that is her name right). I'll have to ask Mick what the characters name is.

Wendy:

What a precious picture of Michael and Danae walking by the Universal Globe where Michael has his arm around his little sister. You can tell he is a little tired, but he just looks so satisfied and peaceful...like he has just had great day and he is enjoying the moment. Awesome stuff!

I like that pic too. It was such a long day and a long week but had been such a good week overall. And the two of them are just great buddies.

wendy thanks for the update! it looks like your kids had a blast at universal!!! I'm sorry they found the shrek part so scary, but glad they got to take pictures with them!

Ah Shrek. I do wish I had done more research here. I just didn't get how much Universal is more for the older kids. Although they have some nice things for the younger kids, and glad we did do Universal, the shows appear to be geared for an older set. I loved that picture up with Shrek. They were so accomodating. And funny. At one point, Mick, being the funny guy he is, said something along the line of "Smile and think of the nice $#% you have behind you". and donkey actually said "Thanks!" :lmao:

Good day at Universal...we didn't do it this trip...but hopefully will next! And...waiting for that airport post...it seems like everyone who I have seen has had airplane issues!!!
I love reading your TR. Can't wait to find out about the airport?!

Ohhhh, the airport. I'm avoiding that one. :rotfl:

Wow your last 2 installments have been great. The kids look like they literally have had the time of their lives. I hate that you only have one day left though-- cant wait to see how it goes :)

Me too. We can't wait to go back!

Great update Wendy!! How cute are they with Dora!!! Was Diego there?

I did not see Diego but believe I heard that Diego did do pics. I loved that Dora gave Michael a kiss. too funny!

I really love that last pic of your family in front of the ball at universal Wendy. That picture looks like you all have had so much fun for an entire week and have left all your cares behind you. Man...I want that look.

Thanks. That was pure happy exhaustion. So tired yet so satisfied.

Isn't that the cutest pic of him. He loved those balls and we played in that area a good 45 mintues!

Alright, if all goes well, I should be able to get our last day up soonish. I need another long night like I need a hole in the head but for my fans....

Your report has been wonderful to follow! Great job! I have such an awesome respect for you! :hippie:

And... I don't know if I want to hear about the airport... we had "issues" this trip, too! :headache:

Looking forward to how my "survivor" disboard mentor made it through the airport....btw...what was your favorite shopping experience/store while you were there?

wendygrace said.... "Me too. We can't wait to go back!"

I know what you mean! We haven't even gotten there yet and already the wheels are turning, and I am paying more attention to the discount code section of the disboards for our next adventure...It will probably be two-three years from now though...but still...the planning is a blast too ;)

Oh Wendy as usual your pics are adorable!!! I don't know if I want to read about the airport or not. (Yes I do, I'm too NOSEY not too!!!:rotfl2: ) I'm a little nervous about my tthree in the airport. Yep It's 1st time for both our kids and my husband. He has NEVER wanted to fly anywhere!!! We don't go anywhere that we can't get to HOuston in a few hours in case of Transplant!!!
It's normally a 12 hr. drive to Fl. from here. But we have to stop every few hours to let Braetons legs circulate so It would take forever to get there if we drove so DH says NADA!!! For that I am very thankfull.
Hope your day is going GREAT. You are doing such a great job. It would seem like Mick is not the only writer in the house!!!!

Love this shot!! :goodvibes

I cannot believe your trip report is almost over! Wow, what an amazing time you all had!

Hoping the "airport chapter" isn't too bad! :worried:

Wendygrace- love, just love Micheal in the ball pit. With the hugh smile on his face. And Danae with Shrek and Fiona. Sounds like you had a fun day at Universal and back a the villa.

Thank you all for your kind words. Danae is down to sleep so perhaps, if Michael doesn't put Mick down first, I'll be able to at least update a bit tonight.

Looking forward to how my "survivor" disboard mentor made it through the airport....btw...what was your favorite shopping experience/store while you were there?

I hate shopping. I do not have a favorite shopping. I stopped at the Christmas Shoppe at the Square and it was ok but didn't have what I was looking for. then I had the following shopping experiences. You'll have to wait for my update as we went to DTD!

Discount codes?! I need to start looking there to. Where do I find this section?

Just don't make a stop in Atlanta. Whatever you do, avoid Atlanta!

My sis needs the computer so I just may not get the time I need. Grrrr!

What a beautiful childhood you are giving your sweet ones. Disney or no Disney those two smiles come from amazing, selfless parenting. You really do give your kids the world. And that ball pit picture is wonderful!!

Check under "Resorts" then once you click on that at the very top there is another forum called "codes and rates" I think...you will spot it!

Saturday morning. We wake up a bit sad. Its been a long week and we have had the time of our lives. We couldn't have asked for a better week, a better vacation. As this may be our only vacation together ever, this has meant a lot to us. I have packed almost everything the night before. Mick and I look at all the bags and decide that we are not checking in or carrying on all this stuff. No way! We decide to look for someplace to mail this stuff. That's right. We are mailing our dirty laundry. LOL

We go to breakfast. Ride the train, the caroussel. Play. Have Ice Cream. Play some more. At 11am we check out. We finally get on the road. We must get to DTD but we want to get to a UPS store or somesuch. We start looking. Note: Although the bunny book states there is a Shipping store nearby, we never found it! The next closest one is quite a distance away. We finally stopped for gas and asked and were pointed in a possible direction and headed that way and finally found one. I go inside and empty a couple of suitcases of dirty laundry and cowboy hats and other trinkets and such into a box and ship it for $15.00. That was money well spent! I didn't have to do laundry as soon as I got home!

So off we go to DTD. I should note that so far this week it has yet to rain on us. We have had a few showers but we were always busy doing something inside during these showers. We would often come out and scratch our heads as everything was wet. Not so today. It started pouring. Hard. Uh oh. We head for DTD anyway hoping for the best. We finally arrive and as Mick pulls to the side to let me out, it stops. Yep, that's right. Even the weather is perfect. For now.

To top it all off, he finds a parking spot mere feet away.

I am in search of just a couple of things. Picture frames for the kids and three ornaments; cinderella, peter pan and a YOAMD.

We get this picture in front of one of the shops.

And these two in one of the shops...

Mick finds a hawaiian print shirt and picks it up. I am having no luck. We decide to go to the Christmas Shoppe. Which is all the way over on the other side. Grrrrr!

We finally arrive at the Shoppe. I find a decent priced Cinderella but the PP is d/c until Christmas time and there is no YOAMD ornaments. They show me the number to call closer to Christmas to request these. I also pick up a couple of links for my charm bracelet. A Cindy and a TB, I believe. yay!

Mick and kids head off to Legoworld or whatever it is called and I go through the $10 and under store. I pick up some Christmas gifts. A Cindy Book on CD for Danae and a PP playset for Michael as well as some tumblers. Yay! I head back to World of Disney (I believe its called) and finally locate a couple of picture frames and have all these items shipped. Note: items are shipped based on price so if you have some small items you can stick in your purse, what the price estimates!

I finally meet up with the kids and Mick at McD's. He has fed them some fries. We head on out. We are hungry but its time to head to the airport.

We arrive to the airport, turn the car in (after a quick clean out), and head in. We do potty breaks and check in our luggage. There's a Disney store there but I resist the urge. We make our way to security and then our gate.

Yes, the princess was allowed to wear her dress home.

So we still haven't eaten but somehow we don't manage to eat anything at this point. Not sure why though. I vaguely remember checking in and asking if there were any problems in Atlanta. The guy checks, says everything is fine but is quite rude. I have worked for the airlines before and I'm having a tense moment here with his answer but we have no time to really quibble here. He says everything is fine.

On this plane we are seated two and two. :cheer2: Its a short flight and it must have gone with no issues as I don't even recall the flight. :confused3 :rotfl:

Now, we have only 45 minutes or so for our connecting flight in Atlanta. I'm nervous as I worked for Delta before and know how HUGE this airport is. I will soon learn that Airtran has a much smaller area and the connection time will not be an issue....

Yes, next, "The Airport is WHAT?!"

Oh, I have a feeling this is NOT what I want to hear!!!
Wendy you have done such a FANTASTIC job. I was reading this installment and just thinking about how good it was and how it's made us readers feel like we were there w/ ya'll. Just kind of watching on the sidelines.
But while we're reading this you are still going through life. Reg stuff like cleanin, cooking,:laundy: and doing all the Dr. stuff and the Mommy stuff and in the meantime putting out one AWESOME TR!!:surfweb:
Thank you for doing this. For inviting us into your family and your trip.
And now enough of the serious.. I mean every word of it but you know me I can't be serious for too long I might  ! You've already broke me buying Kleenix. I was seriously wondering if I should buy stock in them. But then I woke up and realized I'd have to have more than 50cents to buy stock:rotfl2: .
Hope you have a good peacefull, restfull(is that a word?...If not it should be!!!) night!!!

Alrright. Thank you all so much. I'm so glad people are enjoying it. One final installment here. please enjoy.

So we are in the main cabin on our flight and the flight attendants request that people please stay seated as several people have close connecting flights and if you do not have a close connecting flight, to please stay put. We are still taxi-ing, mind you. So a lady gets up and comes strolling forward. The flight attendant hurries towards her and tells her to take a seat, that it is not time yet, that the fasten seatbelt is still on and to please wait for it to go off. We are MOVING! This woman seems to have some issues understanding but we finally get her back in her seat. We arrive a touch earlier than scheduled, seatbelt sign goes off and we gather our belongings and head on out. Yay! Atlanta! Almost home. It is 730pm. We're hungry and tired. We thought we were 1/2 way there...but it was only the beginning.
