A Magical Time!!! ~ 04/21/2014 ~ 4 Night From Port Canaveral

Hi everyone we will be on this cruise as well. My boys are 9 and 6. This will be our second time on The Magic.

Hi Everyone :wave2:

This will be our family's 5th Disney Cruise (Gold Status is almost ours):woohoo:

We booked this cruise last summer while onboard the Wonder during a 7-day Alaskan Cruise out of Vancouver. For anyone that hasn't taken this cruise we would highly recommend it - we had a wonderful time.

We have sailed on the Wonder three times (2 Bahamas, 1 Alaska) and on the Dream once (Bahamas). This will be our first trip on the Magic and we are definitely excited to see the new Reimagined Magic :yay:

Another first for us will be that we are allowing our DD to bring her cousin along on the trip. Up until now it has always been just the three of us but we could see on the last cruise that her having a friend along would be enjoyable for her - and us as well (maybe we could even visit the adult pool area).

We are really thinking that we would like to participate in the FE Exchange on this cruise. We have seen the FE's outside folks doors on previous cruises and it looks fun!!

Looking forward to getting to know folks before the cruise. I already see that Purplejewel and family are from the same hometown - Fredericksburg, VA :wave2:

Please add us to the list on the opening page. Thanks!!

Our names are:

DH Jeff (44), DW Katrina (41), DD Kaitlyn (12), and cousin Katriana (11). We are late dining. Again we are from Fredericksburg, VA. Stateroom 7526.

Welcome "Kaitlynsdad"
We're first timers to DCL, very excited!! If you haven't already, you might want to check out the cruises Facebook page, there's more activity over there.

:wave2:

Hi everyone. Can the person who created the facebook group make the group "secret"? That way it is much safer and no one knows exactly where and when you are going away. Its the same, but people cant see the members unless they are in the group that way....what do you think?

The FB group is already a closed group, you have to be invited. So, I don't think anyone can see the members unless they are in the group.

Can I get invited to the FB page? My Facebook is all locked down but is there a way to get a link?

I am not a member of the group, yet I can see everyone who is a member and the title of the group...which lists the cruise date. If it was a secret group these would both be private only to the members. Can the administrator change it? It would be safer that way for everyone in the group. Thanks!

We are doing our first Disney cruise! We are early dining and have DS and DD, both will be almost 7. DH and I both turn 40 weeks before the cruise, so we are celebrating!

I agree! I'd love to join the group but not if people that look at my profile can see it. If it was secret you wouldn't be able to see anything about it, including the members. I don't like the date being shown on my profile as me being away. Do we know who the 'owner' of the FB group is?
Thanks!

I don't know who is running it....but if anyone does please let us know so we can hopefully have it changed.

hope to see you all on the ship. Sorry to say we discussed it and are going to leave the FB group as a closed group. The feeing is it would be to restrictive to people trying to find the FB group from sources other than here. Each individual can change the information that is on their FB page to be as open or restrictive as they see fit. Hope you al might change your minds, and security settings, and join us, we are having fun getting to know each other before the cruise.

Hi, I just booked my second Disney cruise. I am so excited to be bringing my nephew and my parents. I'd like to add us to the FE, I hope I'm doing this correctly (I thought I was sending this message to post# 54):
Harriett (69), Robert (69), 7127 Interior
Kathryn (40), David (22mo.) 7125 Interior

New to this whole message board thing!

Come join the Facebook group, much more activity I believe there is a link in a previous post

Hi back :goodvibes Nice to see another Fredericksburg neighbor on this cruise. With all the snow our area has gotten this winter, I can't wait to be on this cruise. We have never cruised in April before. We usually do November and February. The water at Castaway Cay has always been a little cold during those months so I am looking forward to warmer water this time. We also usually do 7-night cruises so we will have to cope with a slightly shorter cruise but we are still super excited  We have decided not to participate in the FE this time since it is a shorter cruise but we did it for the first time last November on a 7-night cruise and my girls really enjoyed it. You would be surprised how creative and unique some of the FE gifts people give are. Your daughter and her cousin will love coming back to the stateroom each day to find little presents in the FE. If you don't have a FE yet, I ordered mine off Ebay from a women who makes them. You can also find people who make them on Etsy.com Some people make their own and they are some of the best I have seen but I am not that crafty so I preferred to buy mine from someone more talented in that area than myself. I have a Disney Cruise "countdown" clock on my computer and I stare at it all the time when I am online. I found out staring does not make the countdown ticker move any faster :rotfl: so I will just have to wait like everyone else. At least we are under the 6 week mark. Does your daughter enjoy the Kids Clubs? Just curious. Only one of my four daughters enjoyed the clubs on the last cruise and it was the oldest one. She loved the Teen club. If we would have let her, she would have spent the entire cruise in that club. My two 13 year olds went to the Tween Club the first night to meet the other kids and counselors and they said the counselors were too "Hight Energy" for them and then never went back to the club. My youngest daughter who is turning 11 in a few weeks would not even give the Kids clubs a try. I think it might be because her three older sisters were in the Tween and Teen clubs and she was left all alone without a sibling. Hopefully, I can convince my youngest to give the clubs a try this time. I just feel like she is missing out on alot of fun if she doesn't at least try. All the activities in the Oceaneers Lab sounded like fun to me and I am an adult. Once again, happy to have a Fredericksburg Neighbor on this cruise. Hope we get a chance to meet.

Hi, Our party has grown and I'd like to add 3 names to the FE list for 4/21/14.
Charlie (78), Sarah (77), Elizabeth (52): Forward 6504.
How can I a) check to make sure all 7 of our names are included to the list and b) get the list of everyone in our FE group? Someone else did all this for our group on our last cruise so I'm not quite sure what I'm doing.

I just spoke with a friend who sails on the Magic several times a year and she just finished a cruise 15 days ago. She reported that this crew is fabulous (not that they all aren't).
