I just thought Id share something that made my day today.
A couple weeks ago, my family and I went to Disney, as we do monthly. While we were at the Magic Kingdom, we found a hip-pack in a bathroom. Upon opening it we discovered an abundance of little-girl items. Including a FULL autograph book, and a FULL passport book from epcot. We Put the bag in our bags, and were going to turn it in to lost and found.
Well, the hustle and bustle of shopping on Main Street distracted us, and we got halfway down I-4 and realized we had forgotten to turn the pack in. We searched franticly through the pack and found an address in the autograph book.
When we got home, we made up a package for this little girl. My mom and I being heavy into exchanges, have tons of little Disney trinkets. So we made a package for her, with her hip-pack and a whole bunch of goodies. I covered the box with Disney stickers, and sent the package with hope that the people were Disney people, like my family and all of us on these boards. And wouldnt look at the box and throw it away, wary of what could be inside.
So a week went by
And today I received this e-mail, along with several pictures of their family at the parks:
Stephanie,
Wow, thank you a hundred times over for sending Shannon's pack and even including some goodies with it!!! Yes, it was very traumatic for her to lose it. We went running back there no more than 15 minutes later, hoping it would still be there. I kept telling Shannon that I was just sure it would turn up....who would take a little girl's pack for themselves? Surely no one with the Disney spirit. But as time went on, I was sad too. Until today!
It was our 6th day in the World. As you could see, Shannon had collected many signatures and had gotten her whole EPCOT passport stamped. We had an awesome time!! It was Shannon, 8, Erin 11, Dad and Mom. We live in Colorado, and so we aren't as lucky as you are to be an hour away. It was our second trip. Believe it or not, our first trip was during 9/11. We found out about it while we were in Magic Kingdom when the girls were 7 and 4. That time it was the girls and I and my mom. Dad was supposed to join us, but sadly, didn't get to.
But I digress. We love Disney World and everything it represents about the joy and innocence of childhood. I'm pretty much just a big kid myself. Your sweet package was the whipped cream and cherry on top of a wonderful vacation!!! I'm trying to send you a family pic.
Hugs back at ya!
Chris, Shannon, and the rest
I teared up reading that. Ive wanted to be a cast member for as long as I can remember. And this is as close as ive gotten to really bringing the Disney magic to someone. That I could share that feeling that I personally get about Disney, with someone else just gives me chills and hope that there are still lots of good people in this world.
Anyway, wanted to share.. and I hope this inspires you all to bring Disney magic to those around you!!!
Have a great day everyone.
