Anyone going to be on the Magic out of Galveston October 6-13,2012? My 3 DD's and I will be there. They will be 11,15,17!This will be our first cruise!Hope to meet others coming along for the ride too!

Hello!

Myself and my boyfriend are booked for this cruise as well! I'll be turning 25 on October 12!

However, I'm considering switching to the Sep 29 sailing... (or if I get really bold... asking DBF to do a back to back! Hahaha!)

We'll see how this pans out. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone too!

Linda

That will be a great trip, hope your DBF will go for the back to back, that would
be the ultimate b-day present!Either way welcome aboard.

As of this moment I am booked on this cruise but I will likely move it to a 2013 date if they are still sailing out of Galveston for Spring Break 2013.

can't wait!!! first disney but will be my 8th? cruise...somewhere around there.

heading to the carnival magic afterwards too but the kids think that we are doing B2B only on Carnival...

How wonderful,my kids were worried because I told them since it's not a school break, there may not be many kids their age on board. This will be our first cruise ever, then my oldest and I are booked on the Thanksgiving DCL cruise for her 18th b-day.Not exactly B2B ,but it should be fun either way!Your kids are going to flip out when they realize they are going on the Disney boat!.
Trying to figure out what excursions to take, anyone got any plans with that yet so far?Since we have never been on a cruise they are all new to us!Wonder if it's too cold to swim with dolphins? So much to plan, glad we have plenty of time, lol.

so excited! i'm just a crazy as the kids for this surprise!

we plan to do alot of snorkle and beach bits. we did dolphin swim in Nov 2008 withthe kids in PV, Mexico so it's not too cold at all. We leave snow and cold so plus temperatures are exciting! My DH and i are doing the carnival magic in november of this year and will be going to 2 of the 3 ports so we plan to sniff out the places and see what's fun!

i've done shore trips with and without the help of the cruise line. i'd hold off on booking but research you idea tons and then go to trip advisor and read what they say. i've been blessed to never have a bad trip yet!

The water was nice and warm in the carribean in Feb/Mar this year and that was after winter had a chance to cool it. I'd imgine that early Oct we should see nice warm water temps.

glad the water will be nice enough to enjoy, thank guys for your input!Anyone have any recommendations for excursions?

Just booked this cruise there will be myself, my mom, my daughter, my grandson 14yrs old and granddaughter 10 yrs old:dance3:

How great! There will be lots of tweens and teens onboard. We will have to introduce them all once we are all onboard. You guys are going to have so much fun!Welcome!

My husband and I will be in one room, my daughter and two granddaughters, who will be 6 and 4 in another room, and my best friend and her son in a third room. This will be our fifth Disney cruise, and I am so happy we will be sailing out of Galveston, but a little disappointed no castaway cay. I love checking the boards and see who else has joined the group. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Best to all

Thanks Shera - you and your girls will LOVE the Disney Cruise, there is nothing else like it. The only draw-back is it is addicting. What are your girls most excited about? Don't forget to tell them about FREE room service. There is an icecream self-serve by one of the pools, of course hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken strips, french fries, and pizza almost any time day or night. Can you tell I am a little obsessed with food.

The oldest is excited about visiting different ports and doing things like swimming with dolphins and snorkeling ,the middle one is like you and excited about the never ending food, lol, the youngest is excited to make new friends and go the the kid clubs. So I'm sure they will have a blast.Hope Disney decides to keep Galveston as one of their ports in the future.

thanks for the welcome. I know both kids will have a blast they are very outgoing. I took them on their first cruise in feb. a different line but they loved it. This is a surprise no one knows but me and their mom. It will be hard to keep this secret but we can do it.

this is our first "disney" cruise so we too are excited. lots of kids same ages which will be fabulous.

now the hard part..waiting!

i too love the food. hubby is most excited for room service M&M's

The biggest difference between Disney and other cruise lines is the entertainment. Disney entertainment is truly like seeing a Broadway Show. I have been on Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian and have found good service on all these lines. Norwegian being the best service (even above Disney) The other big difference is there is nothing quite as beautiful as a Disney Ship. I am sure the kids programs on Disney are a cut above also. Lastly, I prefer the clientele on the Disney ship. Our last cruise my husband and I sailed alone and sat with two other couples our age traveling without children it was quite lovely. Having said that I hope you enjoy your first Disney Cruise and find it a "MAGIC"al experience.

thanks for that! I've heard the shows are the best! My girlfriend has done disney and carnival and said the only real advantage is cost to go carnival.

but this is disney and we are paying for what we get!

i just can't wait!!
