This is my 4th FE. I really hope more people will join, but I'm not sure how many more will join. Hopefully some other people who have posted on our cruise will join the FE soon, but I have had new folks join at the last minute before.

I think the cut off for joining the list will March 15th...one month before the cruise.

Yeah I see only 6 cabins so far...looks like 12 adults and 10 children. I think we'll go with the more high end FE gifts since it's sizing up this way. Oh well, good for you guys!

This will be our smallest FE group so far. I really hope more people join--more people=more fun! Although fewer people means more high end gifts. I ordered 100 gifts (for all disboarders cruising) so i hope more people join!

Okay. I hope this does it!! I have never done the FE so any examples of things done in the past would be a great help.

My other question is about excursions. Any suggestions? Also, how do you reserve the aqua bikes on Castaway? I didn't see it in the reservations section.

Just got your PM with FE info!!

Are you looking for ideas of creating a FE or ideas of what to give? As far as creating a FE, there are some great threads in the DCL forum that go into great lengths explaing how to make FE, where to buy them(i bought ours on ebay), etc. As far as gifts go-it's completely up to you. We have given and been given: cruise specific items such as magnets, pens, cds, calendars, or things from people's hometowns (ex. Hershey chocolate from PA), pirate tattoos, rubber duckies, picture frames, scrapbook pages, etc.

Not sure about the aqua bikes on castaway. Sorry!

If we join the Facebook group does it post info publicly about when our cruise is? I am just nervous about someone figuring out that I won't be home.

Hi. It's set up as a "Closed" Facebook group. This means that anyone can see the group and who is in it. However, only members of the group can see the posts. That being said, the title of the group does say "Disney Magic April 13, 2012 Eastern Caribbean Cruise".

No pressure for anyone to join....just figured it's another great way to meet some people from the cruise.

Hi there...My name is Cindy and this will be our first time cruising and also being on the discussion board. From reading the other posts, I need to make 10 posts to be able to participate in the FE...correct?

My husband is Jim and we have a daughter who will be 6 when we cruise. We are super excited to be joining you all. We live in North Carolina.

I have a question about passports, we don't have passports, but we are thinking about getting a passport card, instead of a passport book, does that pretty much work the same, except for air travel? If we did the card, do we still need to bring our birth certificates? I know dumb question, but this is still new to us.

You do not need a passport for the cruise Birth Certificates are all that is needed. That being said actual passports are suggested in case someone has an emergancy or misses the ship they will need them to travel back to the US or to meet the ship at the next port. The passport card would not help in either instance. So if you do not plan on getting actual passports I would say getting the passport cards would be a waste of money.

10 more weeks til I'm sitting on my verenda sipping a martini and smoking a big ol stinky cigar. Can't wait

Welcome carolinarose and family!! I'm excited that you will be cruising with us! I will go ahead and add you to the FE list. You can either post the required info, or you wait until you have 10 posts and send me a PM (i know some people don't like posting personal info).

If you have any cruising questions, this is the place to be! Welcome aboard!

Hi Sarah and everyone!

We are new to this forum and new to cruising, it's the Boxa Family, DH Fred, DS Michael (4) and DS Declan (3). We would like to participate in the FE gift giving, I Just ordered our FE holder from eBay (that was fun and easy) but I'm now going crazy reading posts and looking at pictures of FE gifts...I'm certainly not good at making anything myself so I need to come up with a "purchase" idea...

We'll be in stateroom 7532, have late dining (God hep the couple sitting with us...LOL, but actually agreed with what someone dais about being worry not to be ready for the earlier sitting)

Lookig forward to our vacation!

Tatiana

Calling all cruisers! If you would like to participate in the FE gift giving, please send me the following information by Feb 15th:

Names(everyone in family)
Stateroom number
Ages/gender of kids
Special concerns/celebrations/notes

Thank you! I hope everyone will join in on the fun! The more people the better! :cool1:

I actually found this site through the Facebook page that jwcosta created. To me is way easier to check the Facebook page than this post (don't know why but it takes forever to download this page...) but I understand there are more families here than there...

I'm in planning mode for the port stops. In looking at St. Thomas, what would be a good beach or port adventure for a 6 year old. I was thinking one of the catamaran excursions with snorkling would be nice but with a 6 year old??? The other thing that looks interesting is the dolphin encounter, but it says the excursion is 8 hours long and we will only be there for 7 hours. I read that Magens Beach is pretty nice as well. So many choices...
