Max will be 8 years old next November. From puppyhood, he has been a very healthy dog. Mutts are like that.
This morning, DS noticed a lump on the back of his leg and showed it to me. It's pretty big, maybe the size of a large gumball, and in the crease of his leg, kind of like on the back of his knee. It must be tender because it's red, and he won't let me touch it.
I don't know how it grew so large without us even seeing it till now.
There is no way I can handle taking him to the vet without DH, who is working a double shift today, so I made an appointment to have him seen tomorrow morning. I just walked him and looked at the lump as much as I could. It jiggles when he moves, so I guess it could be a fatty tumor. He's never had one before, but I think he's at an age now when he could start getting them.
Poor doggie! He hates the vet with a passion. He won't even stand on the scale there without totally freaking out.
