I am right now contacting my family and friends seeing if they are planning on attending the wedding or not. So far out of 8 calls I have had only one yes. Its hard planning for your dream wedding and hearing all of these nos. Disney is definatly what we want, this part is just hard!

People who are important will come and these are things we Disney brides need to deal with. In the end you know this is your day and it will be great no matter who comes. Sorry you are sad

I'm sorry you're sad little sister :( But I'll be there for you, and Eric too I guess ;)

I think most would agree that there is due to be some kind of drama or misfortune with every wedding. Doesn't make it any easier. I'm sure the people you love most will find their way to the wedding. I've heard a lot of stories about how friends/family say that they can't come, hoping this will get you to have a wedding at home, but when you continue with your Disney plans, they come around. Keep the optimistic view on things, it'll still be a perfect day!

While I empathize with your situation I have a different view on things. While I'm sure your family would love to be there when you exchange vows, it is hard to expect people to want the same "vacation" as you. I personally would love any member of my family to get married away from home ~ I would be there in a heartbeat. However, for others, vacations are precious memories and they may not want to spend theirs with other family members. They may have other plans for that $1000 (or more). Maybe they have been saving for years to go to Hawaii and if they are going to take a hard earned vacation, this is not where they would go. You can't expect people to use their vacation time and money on what you prefer. I don't mean to be harsh, but if they are going to drop that kind of money it has to be on what they would like to do.
But on the other hand, Can I come? :rotfl:

Plus they could have really limited vacation time.
The only people that HAVE to be there are you and your DH to be.
Hope you have a beautiful wedding and a happy marriage!

Thanks for all your kindness. I do understand the time and money it takes for everyone to come. I love all my family and although I do understand, it still is hard. I am very happy and can't wait till the big day, this is just something I had to deal with today so I can get on to all the fun planning (I'm in the middle of signing the contract, very exciting)!!! Thanks again!!

How many guests are you relatively sure of? Pixie dust for a loving group to be there with you on your big day :wizard: :wizard: :grouphug:

So far including my immediate family and myself we know for sure of 10 people (that does not include my fdh's side). We figured about 50-60 people but now it looks like maybe 40 alot of his side is planning on going. Just not alot from my side.

Im having the same problem! Luckily for me all of myside are really excited , already some of them have been researching what to do in the parks etc!! Unfortunately its my fdh family who dont seem so enthusiastic. Personally aslong as we both are there and our parents i'll be happy.

I really feel for you because this is one of my BIGGEST FEARS! We are going to be asking people from litteraly across the country to come to our wedding(they are all from WA and OR) so I am getting kinda scared and hoping because we are giving them alot of time to plan and are also thinking about maybe if we are able paying for 1 nights room or a tickets into the park to cut prices
Be strong and dont let it bring you down! People change there minds!

Thats whatt i am hoping, im giving our families over a year to arrange things like time off work and see if the can afford it, ill be getting a definate answer once we have booked it in december.
