Alright I thinking i'm leaning towards Victoria and Alberts restaurant. I have a few questions though. 1. Do I have to wear a tie? I want to wear a sports coat but i'm not a fan of the ties...2. How does the menu work? I tried looking at the menu through a link and it said that the menu changes daily. Can someone explain how it works. Thanx

p.s. Anymore suggestions as far as restaurants are accepted...nothings set in stone just yet..

Just wear a tie. Think of it as a once a year dinner.

On each course you get to choose from several options, which you can see at the link above.

Ties are not required although most of the people who eat there regularly report that 90% or more of the men who dine there wear one.

You pay a set price for a meal there. The menu has six courses, and you chose one item from each course for your meal. There are ususally three to five selections for each course.

Jackets are required; ties are optional.
You really should experience V&A's once. I was worried since I do not like any fish and there is a fish course. But you have options for each course and they are very very helpful if you have any questions. I tried my fish, didn't love it so I just left it on the plate.
But the food is wonderful and the experience is worth every penny.

No, a tie is definately not required. My hubby has never worn a tie in V&A's, he has those dressy tshirt type things for under his black suit and he always looks great.

There is plenty to choose from on the menu, so don't worry about what will be served before you get there, just go and enjoy!

Isn't "dressy tshirt" an oxymoron?

The actual code says that jacket required for men--tie optional.
Dress or pants ensemble for ladies.
