A little PD for my DH (Update)

DH has a job interview today for a position with the Army. He has been out of work since February, but working at his Air National Guard base about 2 1/2 hours from home. He is getting so down on himself for not being able to find a job. This job would be the perfect fit for him. He doesn't mind have to switch from Air Force to Army, he doesn't even mind that this unit is supposed to be sent overseas next year. He just wants a job and for us to be able to get back on our feet, and to be home with us every night. I have been praying about this every night and I hope that for once, something will go right for our family.

Good Luck to your DH. Is this the job in Madison or in Green Bay? I know you didn't want to move to Madison.

Actually, the job is in Appleton, so we don't have to move at all! If he does not get this job, there are two more Army jobs that have been posted, one in Fond du Lac, the other in Marinette. Any of them would be okay, I would just like him to get this one in Appleton, because he would start sooner. We just need some stability again.

Appleton would be great! Of course I'm a little biased. I know a few people that commute back and forth to work from Appleton to Green Bay.

It wouldn't be that bad of a commute. He used to work in Oshkosh. We figure the commute time would only be 30 - 40 minutes. Plus, I wouldn't have to find a new job then (cuz I love my job!!).

Okay, he just got done with the interview. He said it was very nerve racking, plus, he was not able to be there in person (he is in seminar this week). A buddy of his gave him a book about the position to read last night, and he said that was very helpful. The Colonel said he would know by tonight or early tomorrow. All of my fingers and toes are crossed.

Well, the Colonel called last night about 6:40 or so, I wasn't home, and DH was still working in Madison. He left a message to have DH called this morning to discuss the interview. DH doesn't think that is a good sign. The military moves fast with hiring. One job he interviewed for, the position closed on a Monday, he interviewed on Wednesday, and knew he didn't get the job on Friday. I am still keeping my fingers crossed.

Well, he just call the Colonel back, and he did not get a job. So the search continues....
