While attending MNSSHP on Sunday, my 3 year old son lost his most favorite stuffed toy. It has become something like a security blanket to him recently, going everywhere with him. I backtracked our movement through out the park, stopping every cast member at every treat trail and store we had been in asking about a little tan dog. My son was so upset, he cried himself to sleep in his stroller, and missed the parade and fireworks. I finally made my way to the emporium, and asked a castmember there if anyone had turned the toy in. He checked in back, and unfortunately, no doggy. He then invited me to pick out a new stuffed toy for my son to try and make him feel better.
Honestly, I wasn't out to get anything, just his dog back. The castmember further insisted that I take something. He actually seemed surprised I picked out a small Skully instead of something larger. My son was dressed as Jake that night, so when he woke up, was thrilled at seeing his new friend. I was also given a number for lost and found, and told to call the next morning. I tried, and got no answer before we checked out and left for home.

We stopped at Ikea on the way back home, to see if we could get a replacement. While my wife was frantically searching upstairs, I tried lost and found one more time. The nice lady on the phone said they had one thing that sounded like our missing doggy. I sent her a pic and she that she had it. I was so relieved. Even more when my wife came back downstairs, saying that the toy had been discontinued. My son's best buddy will be arriving in a couple of days, after having an extended vacation at Disney World.

I'm just so thankful for everyone involved here. From the person(who ever you are) that turned that dog in, to the castmember in the emporium who bent over backwards to make my son happy, to the lost and found rep who is sending back the toy. Our little trip nearly ended on a very sour note, but it seems like it will have a happy ending after all.

Oh it was so nice to read your post! I am so happy for your son. and it's so nice to read about a very positive experience!

I'm so glad they found it for your son! :yay::yay: So hard when a little kid loses something, especially something as special as their favorite stuffed animal. So happy he is getting his friend back!!!!! Love to hear stories like that.

The lost and found people seemed really nice. I had my first experience with them this trip Oct. 5-13... twice. Unfortunately, we weren't so lucky. DD(7) left a lanyard with about 7 pins on it in the bathroom outside of Star Tours at DHS. Earlier that day, she had a pin fall off her lanyard into the toilet (:scared1:), so without telling me later she decided to take off the lanyard and hang it in the stall, and promptly forgot it. We went back to look for it within 15 minutes and it was gone. It never got turned in (it was actually a Disneyland lanyard with some Disneyland pins, so they thought it would be pretty easy to spot if it did). That was on Tuesday-- so I took pity on her and bought her a new lanyard and some pins that night as I was pretty sure it wasn't going to get turned in as DHS did not have it in their lost and found when we left the park. (I got to make 2 calls and a trip to the lost and found office at the TTC over the next couple of days). DD promised she would hand the new one to me if she wanted to take it off to go to the restroom. Well, I bet you can guess what happened on Saturday. Yep- she left it at the Tusker House restaurant bathroom. Didn't realize it for about 30 minutes. Went back and it was gone and again had not been turned in. So I got to deal with lost and found again. Never got either lanyard back- and needless to say I did not replace the 2nd one...but at least Lost and found was really nice.

And this is the reason that I love love love Disney! :lovestruck: So glad you will be getting the doggy back!

Don't ever doubt Disney's lost & found. :thumbsup2

One year we lost our camera! We were sitting on the sidewalk in HS & everyone got up & walked away. It was an "I thought you had it" type of thing. :confused3

I was so sick the rest of the day. We went to Fantasmic & on the way out I thought that we should try L&F just to see if MAYBE someone turned it in & sure enough, there it was! They were wonderful about it.
:cool1:

Agreed :thumbsup2 My 4yo son also has a Mickey "Lovie" blanket that he's has since birth. That thing HAS to go everywhere with him. At one point we had lost "Mickey". My son was heartbroken! We even tried turning the lights off in his room before putting him to bed and giving him my other son's "Mickey" but he knew it was NOT his. He also cried himself to sleep :guilty: Luckily he turned up the next day because it is a discontinued blankie and amazon wanted $40 for a used one :scared1: Honestly though, to see how crushed he was, I would have paid the $$$

So happy he got his stuffy back! Disney customer service is amazing!
