A little London help please

I searched and could not find this question anywhere. If it is, I apologize for asking it again.

My roommate has some timeshare points and is letting me use some of them. I decided to get out of the desert here in Arizona and head to London for 6 days in May.

Right now airfare is about $750 no matter which carrier I am looking at. Anyone have an idea if this is a decent price or if I should hold off and wait for something cheaper.

Can't wait to see some of the great theater that you have over there. Hoping to get txts to Billy Elliot, Lord of the Rings, and Blood Brothers. Besides shopping at Harrods and NIKEtown, catching a "real" football game (go ManU), are there any other suggestions? I got about 3 books this week to get ideas, but figured I would get better info from people rather than books.

manchester is a loooong way from london...you may be better trying to see one of the london clubs games (tickets for some are hard to come by)
think chelsea,arsenal fulham spurs west ham
have a great trip

The football season will be (virtually) over in May so your chances of seeing a match of any type will be diminished. As for shopping, be prepared for an expensive trip as England, London in particular, has higher prices than the USA.

I knew ManU was a good hour away by plane, but it might be worth it. They have a good relationship with the company I work for, so we get a lot of info on them (plus I have liked them for a while before that) I was told it would be near the end of the season as well, so I may try to push the trip up a month into the middle of April.

THANKS for the info. I know if will not be cheap, but with no housing costs, it should help out.

Don't forget - these are the RIGHT WAY ROUND with the home team FIRST!
1. Saturday 07 April Portsmouth v Man Utd
2. Tuesday 10 April Man Utd v Sheff Utd
3. Saturday 14 April Chelsea v Man Utd
4. Saturday 21 April Man Utd v Middlesbrough
5. Saturday 28 April Everton v Man Utd
6. Saturday 05 May Man City v Man Utd
7. Sunday 13 May Man Utd v West Ham

Your best chances of getting to Old Trafford to see a game are matches 2 or 4. The mid-week game against Sheffield United or the Saturday game against Middlesborough might give a slight chance of getting a ticket. The others are going to be pretty hard, or at the very least expensive to get in to.

I am understanding HARROD's is a must. What is that (sight-seeing) Ferris Wheel in the middle of London? We would love to try that!! If someone could name the most important sights we should see, I would be so greatful.

happy to share the thread. Any info is good info and this way the great people on this board willing to help only have to type it once.

And thanks AndRu for the dates. I was just hopping on to the FA site to see what I could find. I love football, so I would be happy going to any game. Just that ManU wears the "swoosh" of NIKE, so I have a soft spot for them.

And I just ordered tickets for Lord of the Rings! WOO HOO!

I already liked the team...and I work for the "shirtmaker", so they are a part of my everyday.

Sort of like Tiger Woods, cheer for him as a great golfer and support him because of his affiliation with work as well. But,there are non-Nike sponsored golfers that I also cheer for, just because I like their game.
