Hi! I looked at the BLT room charts and have an idea of what some of the standard view is like but would love to hear from some of you who have stayed in a dedicated 2 bdrm standard view.
We stayed in a 2 bdrm lake view in October and it was great BUT our 3 yr old is on the autism spectrum and extremely smart and crafty. The balcony was so high up and he was able to manipulate the locks!! Before everyone gets upset, we NEVER take our eyes off of him (we have 3 adults and 2 teens to help) he was never alone(even when sleeping) but it was still always on my mind. Are all the 2 bdrm standard views on the lower floors? Are they more convenient to the pool and monorail? It's our home resort but we're still getting familiar with it. I thank you in advance for all of your advice and input. Our 11 month date is at the end of this week.

all standard rooms are on the 5th and below floors.

also are you talking this year or next year...

next year you will get more.

standard view this year are xx02, xx16, xx30 - on the second floor
xx44 on the first floor. inside curve

xx41, xx29, xx17, xx05 on the 2nd floor. outside curve

next year on the outside curve you can probably get
xx29, xx17 on the 3rd and 4th floors. these are switching from MK view to standard

Thank you spiceycat! It's for 2013. The other factor with ds is his obsession with water and swimming. If we have a pool view our vacation will be a constant battle with him. He can't swim yet but has no fear of it and wants to be in the water whenever he can. What type of view should I put in the request. Obviously a MK (even slightly) view would be wonderful. The little boys could watch the fireworks from the room. I guess anything but a pool view would work but what would you request?

Oh my goodness, Princess Olivia, my son is the same. He's not Autistic at all but when we had a BWV 4th floor balcony, hubby and I were nervous wrecks despite really enjoying the balcony before ds. We even moved furniture to block the doors to the balcony. He is houdini. We had the pool view and it was a battle EVERYDAY to get him out of the room because all he wanted to do was hit the pool.

I was considering booking standard next time in hopes we get a ground floor parking lot room, lol.

 Isn't it crazy to hope we get something like that!! He actually did great on the Disney Dream balcony, we moved the furniture and he couldn't scale the plexiglas. We also stayed at Kidani savanna view and were fortunate to be on the same floor as the lobby so the balcony wasn't that high and he didn't try to get over it. BLT we were on the 12th floor and he hopped up on the furniture in 2 seconds trying to get a good look down!!! Nearly gave me a heart attack!!

I've had a standard view 3 times. The first time was inside curve 2nd floor over the community center. The other 2 times they were ground level facing the marina (outside curve), and ground level next to the community center (inside curve). I've also asked for a higher view with the possible view of MK and have never gotten any request fulfilled at BLT. I've actually learned to like the ground floor level as it's easier to zip to and from the pool or parking lot. Unfortunately we have never been able to view the electric water pagent from our rooms and have always had to go outside to watch it -- which really isn't the worse thing, other than getting eaten by the bugs from the marina.

North side, odd number room, high as possible (high as possible with standard is 5th floor). - hoping you get one of the new rooms. there is not a lot of dedicated 2-bedroom standard view. now lock out you can get a nicer view - but dedicated no.

We will be staying in a dedicated 2 bedroom standard view @ BLT in a couple of weeks and when I looked at the post that shows all the types of rooms/views at BLT it looked like for dedicated 2 bedroom standard view there were only 8 rooms. 1 on the first floor and the others on the 2nd floor. But maybe I was reading it wrong or some rooms have been reclassified. So I don't have high hopes of a great view, but am still excited! It is BLT after all!

this year dedicated 2-bedroom is definitely limited for standard.

next year some of the MK views will be standard views - and hoping that includes the 2-bedroom on 3rd and 4th floors - will not know until next year.

they are changing some of the Mk views because guests have complained loudly that these are parking lots views not MK view.

So for our stay in 2 weeks in std view dedicated 2 bedroom, I'm thinking we won't have much of a choice. For the 1st floor is that the street level? So we would have quicker/easier access to the parking lot/walking to MK, pool etc. Is there a patio straight to the outside and can we walk out from there to get in/out of our room or is there no key access?

no key access to the patio - although you can unload your car easier.

the problem with first floor is this is a pretty busy resort - so there is a chance someone will come by.

the patio is straight to the outside. but someone would have to go the long way - thru the building - to make sure the villa is security.

if you get the first floor - then might just walk over to CR - you will arrive at their first floor and the restuarants (except the Wave) are on the 4th and 15th floors. CM is on the 4th floor. CG is on the 15th floor. the Wave is on the first floor.

So first floor will make it easier for us to refill our mugs? Well, maybe I'll just make no requests and instead of being disappointed about what we didn't get, I'll just look at the positive aspects of whichever floor we're assigned to. It's only for 2 nights so I'm thinking it won't matter a great deal. Thanks for the input.

I saw pictures of room 7424 that look amazing for a standard dedicated 2 bdrm view. where is that location? I realize they don't give specific rooms but for safety reasons I will request a room not facing the pool and not on the ground level. DS is a "runner" and I don't even want to chance him getting outside (he's non verbal). Again, we watch him closely but I can't chance it.

Since you are looking for something that is not a pool view- why don't you ask for a view of the parking lot (which is in some ways the same as asking for a MK view. If you tell them that you really would like a parking lot view for your son's sake they might honor that request- of course you may end up on the side of the parking lot near the CR instead of looking at MK but it would still not be a pool view and those would be closer to refill mugs. I doubt many people ask for a parking lot view and so it may be something they feel is an easy request to fulfill.

Funny, I booked a lake view at BLT for the end of August(only category still left, it's one of our home resoirts but we booked late). My 4 year old DGD is coming and my daughter requested no higher than the second floor! DGD isn't really a climber but it just made my DD nervous to think of being 12 floors up--me too! MS said we were the first person she ever had request to be LOWER not higher! I'm a wreck up in the lounge too, even when non of the kids up there are mine!

There aren't very many LV rooms on the second floor but I'm guessing they probably aren't very popular, either, so hopefully we'll get one!

Good thinking! Thank you.

room 7424 is the room number - just take 70 away.
so 4th floor.
this would be a great location. the 5th floor is where BLT and CR connect with the skybridge. So just a quick walk up the steps.
