I am so new to this board and love it. I am booked for the land/sea package for Nov 04 and need to know what the weather will be like in Orlando and the Bahamas. Still shorts weather? Will we be cold at CC if we want to play in the water? Just the first of many questions...:wave2:

I just returned from a 4 night land/ 3 sea cruise. We stayed in the CBR, and loved it. All I can say in MAy it was HOT!! But if you have any questions I can do my best to answer them for you.
You will have a great time, we did.

you will love the land and sea package!! We did that our first time and loved it!

You should still be able to wear shorts. It may cool off some in the evenings, but still favorable. We went at Thanksgiving in 2002 and they had freeze warnings!! We brought 2 pairs of pants and had to wear them for 5 days!! But that was unusual. Once we got on the ship things shaped up and got very warm.

The water at CC should be in the high 70's to low 80's so very balmy water good for lots of playtime.

Bring on the questions!! The people on these boards have lots of great info!!!

Thanks for the quick replies. Bethipooh sounds like I am taking the same vacation you did. I am also staying at the CBR. Where did you stay there? We wanted to request the Martinique building or the Trinidad North as they are the closest to the food and main pool. But then I heard they were charging more for those buildings. What are your thoughts? :wave2:

We were in the Jamaica area, building 4325. We were around the corner from our pool and laundry, and about a 5 minute walk from the main pool and food court across a bridge.

If they are charging more for those areas, I wouldn't pay it. There is a internal shuttle that runs the entire CBR about every 10 minutes. We actually had the shuttle pass us 3 times while we were waiting for the bus to the MK.

The main pool is very crowded at night, however in the middle of the day we almost had it to ourselves. My 7 yr old son had a blast there. It is a beautiful resort.

Let me know what other questions you may have. You also get a lanyard and pin set, and one other choice to use at Disney.

Are you using the transfer package offered by Disney to the port?

By transfer option do you mean the shuttle service to and from the airport and the resort and port than yes we are using it. Another question is how long did it take you to get to the different parks on the bus system of disney? Long waits to and from?:wave2:

FARRISHQ,

WHAT IS THE DATE THAT YOU ARE GOING ON YOUR CRUISE?

3 OR 4 DAY CRUISE NOV ? 04

WE ARE GOING ON THE 3 DAY CRUISE NOV 4TH THRU THE 7TH

Since you have the transfers by DCL, you will be offered the option to go to the AK on your cruise day, and take the bus from there. I recommend it. We didn't do the breakfast part, but by leaving from the AK we left a hour earlier then the bus from CBR. On average we waited anywhere between 5-15 minutes for a bus to any of the parks. HOWEVER, coming home from the MK on a Tuesday night after the fireworks, we waited for a hour and a half to get back to CBR. I swore the entire resort was there. We did get stranded at Blizzard beach trying to get back to the resort, but thanks to fellow DIS'ers, I was prepared for that. In the morning buses run fairly regular to all the parks.

 Wow Purtypat I will miss you by one week! We are sailing November 11th - 14th. This is our very first disney world vacation so I wanted to include the disney cruise because I didn't want to miss a thing. I can't wait to read your report when you get home because it is sooooo close to mine. Bethipooh, what do you mean they will offer AK to us the day of the cruise? What time would they pick us up from there to take us to port? And why do they offer it just from there? Any other parks available to us the day that we set sail?

On the day of your cruise they offer you the option to leave from the AK. You can even get priority seating for the caracter breakfast there between 8-8:30. They never told us why the AK was the only park offered. We didn't do the breakfast but arrived at the park a little after 9, rode 3 rides, saw a show(DCL gets priority seating for those while they last) and was on a bus to the cruise by 12:15. They will even hold your day bags for you there at the DCl check in at the AK.
Our bags were picked up from our resort room a little after 8 on departure day and we never saw them again till they were delivered to our staterooms. We got them in plently of time( around 3) to get ready for dinner, we had main seating at 6 PM.

Sorry, I would imagine you could go to any park you wish on departure day, as long as you are back at CBR by 12:30 from what we were told. The buses leave from CBR to the port at 12:45.

This is such great information Bethipooh! When do they offer you this option for AK? I would definatley be interested in the priority seating for the character breakfast!

When you get off the DCL bus from the airport, you are greeted by a cruise rep. who helps you with a bunch of info. Among that is a flyer telling you about the AK option along with a phone number to call to make the reservations. We called that night from a house phone at the food court.
Just some friendly advice, when you get your cruise documents, fill them out at home. When you check in at the CBR, they will need these from you, it makes check in go much faster if you fill them out ahead of time.

We are booked on our first cruise, on the Wonder on April 14, 2005. I'm not doing the full land/sea pkg, but will be spending 2 nights at WDW prior to the cruise. I've purchased the DCL transfers to the port and back to the airport. Does anyone know if the AK pkg is available without the full land/sea pkg? Could we just go to AK on our own and meet the bus there? It sounds like a great way to end our quick stay at WDW. Thanks!

I would imagine it would be made available to you as well, since you are going on a DCL cruise and purchased transfers. I would say either call the resort you are staying at ahead of time and ask, or ask when you check in. We didn't go to the breakfast, and got ourselves to the AK on their shuttles, just made a seating reservation for the bus to the port.

Thanks! That is such a great idea. I wasn't sure what to do with our last morning without worrying about catching the bus. I'll check once I decide on a hotel. I'd been considering WL and hesitating because I heard that the DCL bus doesn't pick up there. This would solve that problem!

We went the week before Thanksgiving last year It was a bit chilly at night, but we mostly wore shorts and sweatshirts in the evening. The days were perfect park weather -- not too hot, not too cold. As for Nassau, it was hot when we were there. Hope this helps!! Have a ball!!
