A little help

Hi. First post here. A little background: I'm married for 26 years, 4 kids (24 to 17). We've been to WDW as a family twice (2003 and 2007). I was also in Disney in 1981 and 1989 and 2006. My kids have been to WDW separately for Senior Trips (the three oldest and youngest will be in 2016).

I've been reading this board (on and off)and other Disney boards since 2006 when planning our 2007 trip. It's been helpful.

I started reading here again last year when we decided to plan another WDW trip. More about that later but for now that trip has turned into a quick trip for a wedding.

We'll be attending a wedding July 16, 2016 in Orlando (traveling from NJ). No specifics on the wedding/times yet other than it's being held at a theatre in Orlando on the 16th.

So I'm planning a trip for the 6 of us (and probably +1, one daughter's bf) to attend the wedding. We'd like to fit in trips to MK and Epcot (with the kids maybe doing AK and HS) and Universal. I know that's pushing it but it's what we have for now.

Right now, my itinerary looks something like this:
4 of us depart Wednesday morning and arrive at MCO at 10:00 am or so. Arrive at CR by 12:00.
12:00-4:00 lunch/pool/room, etc.
5:00 to MK, hopefully 5:30 BOG dinner, 3 FB+. wing it until about 11:00 and head back to resort.

Two oldest kids and probably bf will take later flight and arrive midnight or so.

Thursday: if emh for MK (and that's what it looks like?) then we'd do MK that day from emh. I'd leave at about 12:30 to head back to resort (CR). Spend from about that time until 4 at pool, shower, nap. Husband and kids may stay at MK. 5:00 or so ADR for Ohana. 7:30 or so back in MK and use 3 FB+. I'd head back to CR after last FP+ others may stay.

Friday: head to US/IOA, by taxi (Uber?). We've never been and all want to see the Harry Potter stuff and then other stuff. So taxi/uber to US at 7:30 or so. Parks from 9-4. Then back to CR. Then Epcot from 6-close.

Saturday: Wedding. We don't know times yet. We're imagining a ceremony and short reception sometime during the day/night. We'll know more this Saturday when we're at the shower and I ask for details, lol. Anyway, Saturday is pretty much unknown right out for 4 (5) of us. But we figure we'll at least make emh for MK at night. So Saturday is wedding then emh at MK for 4 (5) of us while two youngest, 18 and 20 by then, have ph to do whatever until we all meet up for MK. They have no desire to attend wedding and don't have to so they'll be free that day.

Sunday: Sleep in somewhat since we're thinking emh MK the night before. Check out at 10:00 and onto Epcot until about 5 or so.

Return flight is around 9:30pm.

So is it feasible for us to get MK and Epcot (me mostly, the others can do HS and AK too) and US/IOA?

Dates aren't negotiable because I'm the only one flexible. Me, Husband, and two youngest are doing Wednesday morning flight. Two oldest and bf are doing late Wednesday night flight. Two youngest will be on their own most of Saturday while our schedule is dependent upon the wedding.

Seems feasible to me. I would consider skipping Epcot on Friday and just spending the day at US/IOA if you're getting some Epcot time in on Sunday.

Thanks for the idea. I started thinking about it after reading and we don't want to rush US/IOA. We'll probably never be back as a family again and I'd like to make the most of this mini trip. And depending on the time of the wedding/reception, we may be able to get to Epcot on Saturday, too. I'm also playing around with no Ohana dinner to free up some time that day. I'd never consider staying at CR for cost reasons but I want easy access to MK and I will need to take an afternoon break. I want some resort time. I'm just really excited that we'll be visiting again as a family and doing some early planning. Our next door neighbors will also be attending so we're planning together.

I agree with the OP and don't rush US/IOA. There is so much to do there that I would skip the evening at Epcot as well

I don't know if this impacts your planning, but it looks like the morning EMH at MK has shifted from Thursdays to Fridays next year. Of course, July isn't out yet, but it seems to be pretty consistent for the year so far. I have been watching because of my June trip.

It impacts it quite a bit so thanks for alerting me. We'd switch MK that day with US/IOA. What about Saturday night emh at MK? Has that changed too?
Nothing is set in stone yet. My two oldest, who we are planning around (as well as the wedding of course), could take off a Friday and Monday instead of a Thursday and Friday.

I'll keep checking back here as well as the Disney site. Thanks again for the help and info.

PM EMH's seem to have shifted to Wednesdays. Here's a link to the travel agent calendar for April, which is the furthest out they've released yet. You can change the month in the url to whichever one you'd like to see. When they add times for that month for next year it will auto-update. http://media.disneywebcontent.com/StaticFiles/ParkHours/WDWTravelAgent_april.pdf
