Don't get me wrong. It was cute. I just felt with all the amazing technologies we have today they really implemented none of it. Same ole animatronics, projectors, and wheels and pulleys spinning things about. No doubt a disney classic but I wish the imagineers would be more imaginative.

Me personally I would have done something epic with the end Ursula whirlpool scene. Maybe my imagination isn't in the budget. ;)

The good thing is, if you dont care for it, you dont have to ride it. We have been here for a few weeks now and we have ridden it several times and we love it.

Thank goodness you pointed this out. I was unaware I had a choice.

LOL:rotfl2:

It's a cute ride for sure. I think I love how colorful it is. But an E ticket ride, it is not. Now I'm basing my opinion off the California version, but I've read it's identical.

I love that the new ride is very old fashioned. That style of rides is what has made Disney an amazing theme park. It's unique and fun for everyone!

We will be there Friday, and have never ridden it. My DD is a huge Ariel fan and I am sure it will be a big hit!

Just got back from 10 days there and loved the new Mermaid ride. We rode it several times before the grand opening date - couldn't get near it after that.
We basically walked on nearly every time - loved the little *crab* in the queue. ;) Also Scuttle! :)

I completely agree with you. My daughter enjoyed it, while I was very underwhelmed. Technologically there didn't seem to be anything that couldn't have been done years ago, except maybe the crab stuff in the standby queue. I also found it a little strange they didn't use any real water anywhere in the ride itself.

Personally I love the Little Mermaid ride just like it is. (Based on CA ride :) ). However, I can appreciate that people like different types of rides. That's the great thing about Disney, there are rides for everyone!

:lmao::rotfl:Love it. Maybe once you have "ridden" it some more you will change your mind.
I haven't got there yet....but from the you tube videos, I was thinking the same. I am sure we will like it since that's my fav movie, but you'd think the technology would be a little more up to date.

I think it is a great ride and although there are a few things I would change...I really enjoy it. It was also HOGH TIME that Ariel got herself a decent attraction in WDW.

Very happy with it.

Highly underwhelming for adults. No innovative technology apparent. The grade school kids will love it, though.

The outside entry to the ride was outstanding, beautifully done Disney at its finest.

I agree. Just boring.

Yes! Take pirates for example. When I'm on that ride I actually FEEL like I am being transported to a new place. I will never forget the first time riding pirates I was amazed how it felt like you were taken to a night when pirates pillaged a town. The smells. The details!

This sort of felt chuck e cheese for me. Don't get me wrong, I will find a place in my heart for little mermaid, but I can't immerse myself in it like I can the other rides. Kids will love it though. :)

I was shocked at how underwhelming it was. We kept asking ourselves who could have approved the work of the artists and engineers. It looks cheap the whole ride through. Nothing new, nothing very imaginative. I guess too little budget - especially for such an awesome movie. too bad.

Ridden it both at WDW and DCA.
It's cute, but I wouldn't wait in line long for it.
Rode it in WDW during previews and last week at DLR and there it is a walk on, so it was fine.
