We are taking our first Disney trip in Nov. My 4 yr. old little girl LOVES Snow White. She gets scared pretty easily, so I don't think Snow White's Scary Adventures would be ok for her to go on, although I know she will want to and won't be able to understand how anything Snow White related would be too scary for her. Hopefully she will get to meet her at a character meal. Other than that, is there a Snow White ride or attraction that isn't scary?

I think if you talk her through this ride before you go on it, she will not have a problem. It really isn't that intense if you are prepared for it. My daughter (who is now a teenager) was always very shy and somewhat timid, but was a Snow White fan, and always liked the ride from the time she was five. As I recall she used to drag us to it to stand in long lines when we really wanted to be somewhere else!!

My 3 almost 4yr old did not have a problem on it last year. You have to know your child and know what does or does not effect them.
My kids know the story or Snow White well and know about the witch and the witch turn dragon in Sleeping Beauty. Haunted Mansion was not a big deal either. That said she did snuggle up to me going through the ride but not afraid that she didn't want to go on it again.

Then again this kid and her older sister also know about Alien(s), Jaws zombies and ride the ToT with thier hands in the air....but that's another story!

Definitely is a good idea to avoid the ride. I took my 3 kids last December for the first time and it was a huge mistake the ride, because my 6 years old got so scared that after that it was impossible to make him take a ride that gets dark. My other mistake, it was the first ride we took . My other 2 kids are smaller and got scared too, but it was easier to deal with them regarding the other rides. So those are chances you may run.

We taught our daughters that on rides like this anytime something scary pops out they have to yell "boo" at it. It seems to work, and they get so caught up in yelling boo, that they forget to be scared.

Read her snow white before you go away, or see the movie, or just make it up from memory. Then tell her there is a special ride at DW that tells the story, get her to tell you the story too.

I guess it depends, my girls liked it even at 2 and 3 but they knew the movie.

If your dd loves Snow White the character and hasn't seen the movie then it may be a scary ride. If your dd watches and likes the movie than honestly I don't think she will be scared. It does depict the events of the movie with the beginning featuring the witch and woods and the middle and end have Snow. I just had to remind my dd's that good would prevail in the end and to watch for that.

Before you totally skip it, only you know your dd best so I would ride it alone first if you can to see if you think she will like it. Otherwise she probably won't even notice the ride - and therefore not know what she is missing. It is inside and other than the sign not really obvious what it is.

She can meet Snow White at the Princess Breakfast in Norway and at the Germany Pavillion, both in Epcot as well as in the Toontown Tent at MK. Check the schedule at Guest Relations to see if there are any other opportunities. Other than a meet and greet and the ride I don't know of any other Snow White attractions.

I had the experience of listening to a parent of a small child tell the story of Snow White while taking the ride. The little child was so engrossed in the story during the ride that she was smiling when she got off. Little one appeared to be maybe 3 or 4 so just about the age where this ride would be scary. Just a suggestion if you chose to try the ride.

My DD (3) loves this ride. This summer will be her 5th time to WDW! I think it depends on your child. All children are different and have different experiences. You can go to the web site mousetimes and you can watch a video of this ride. I would watch it and see what you think . My DD and I watch it weekly! Good Luck and hope that helps!

My daughters never had a problem on Snow White. My youngest tends to get more frightened than the other two. She was too young to be scared when she was 1 and 2, but when she was 3, I explained to her before the ride that she would see the evil queen and the witch, but they weren't real, and there were some dark parts but I'd be right next to her. I gave her a little flashlight to use in the dark part if she wanted (she only used it to shine in the eyes of her sisters, and not even in the dark part, so that might not have been such a good idea). Anyway, no problem, she loved the ride.

Also for the dark rides, my dd has a light up wand that she uses to sed the bad things away with!! It seems to help, she also likes to keep her eyes closed tho too!!

My Dd was 2/12 and loved this ride. We did prepare her for it, as she knew the story. We knew "the naughty old witch" was in there, but werent scared cos we knew the dawfts would get her. We concentrated on the prince and snow white, and waving to Dopey on the bridge at the end of the ride. My DD loved it and we rode at least 4 times that day. The car seats 3 so we sat her in the middle of us and all cuddled up. Only you know your child ! Have fun!!

There's a thread on the Families forum about this ride. My dd was VERY scared by this ride. She was 6 at the time. The witch is very scarey looking. My dd knows the Snow White story and has seen the movie numerous times and that did not make the ride any easier for her.

Its one the "dark rides" in Fantasyland.

Like Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh.

You ride thru in a little car (a "mine car" in this case) while simple sets and props move back and forth, lighting effects occur and sound effects, music and dialogue play in the background.

My son rode it when he was 1 and 2. He rode most of the rides at Fantasyland, even the ones that may be too "scary" for lil ones, according to Birnbaum. I just talked him through it and he did fine. Of course, everyone is different. You knwo your child better than anyone else so it's your call but it isn't as bad as Birnbaum made it sound.

My parents took me on it when I was 2, but I think it used to be scarier back in the early 80's than it currently is. I cried but I don't think I had ever seen the movie.

The ride sort of pulls all the scary parts of the movie out and brings them into real life. If your child has seen the movie and knows what happens they might now be scared at all.

If you think about it- Snow White is a scary movie.

- Evil stepmother has someone take her into the woods and kill her by cutting her heart out all because she is pretty. Snow White lives and then the evil queen poisons her b/c of her looks. Evil Queen gets pushed off a cliff.

I have yet to figure out what is so scary about this ride, they are flat cutouts not even animatronics! I never told any of the kids I've taken on that it would be scary and none of them have thought it was my DS was on at 2 1/2 without problem and my DD at 4 and neither was scared. Don't tell them it is scary before riding or their imagination will be much worse than the ride.

maybe you should wait till the last day of your trip to try the ride..
that way it won't taint your daughter from going on to anything else.


If they are scared,then nothing will help them


We took my son who was 4 1/2 at the time to Haunted Mansions. He has been scared of that ride until he turned 13. No Kidding.
