a little depressed

Thanks - yes that helps but my 7 year old is walking around saying "Wow your old" - that doesn't help.

Yea well, I have 11 & 16yodd's, a DH younger than me, plus my younger sibs giving me jabs all the time.

So count your blessings....:rotfl2:

The sex is better now.

Can someone explain this? I turned 40 in January, and you would think it would be downhill from here. Not so! I find myself driving on errands, I think of DH, and it is all I can do not to turn the car around and go home....not for a glass of lemonade, either. LOL. WTH???

OP, don't let age bother you. You are as young as you feel. Age is nothing but a number. With so many people living past 100 nowadays, 40 is not even middle age anymore.;)

Give yourself a day to "grieve" and then get going! :teeth: I felt that way when I turned 40 so I can sympathize. Instead of greeting new challenges, I just kinda accepted that I was getting older and unfortunately, I started acting old. Then I turned 49 and decided to start living again.

I started exercising and trained for a half-marathon (completed, Jan. '07) and I just recently completed my first full marathon at WDW in Jan. '08 at the ripe age of 50. How many youngsters can say they have completed a marathon? It feels great! :teeth:

As 4cruisin said, getting older is just a state of mind. The actual number 40 means nothing. You just have a few more trips around the block, that's all. One of the keys to a younger mindset is to keep active, keep moving. Getting comfortable in that rocking chair, like I did at first, gets you no where.

:bday: :cake:

The old saying, you're not getting older, you're getting better is so true!!! :thumbsup2

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Hope you have a great day! I'll be there in June! I'm feeling ok with it I guess, little depressed but a little excited at a new chapter in my life.

I guess realistically everday above the ground is a good one! :thumbsup2

:bday: Happy 40th Birthday! party:

Awwww, don't be a party pooper ;) ! Actually I don't remember 40 bothering me as much as 30 did  ! Matter of fact I've read 40 now is the old 30 ! Try to remember age is simply a state of mind, then look around at all your blessings and accomplishments.

I am 61yo and we will celebrate our oldest DD's 41st BD tomorrow :goodvibes ! Actually, I never thought life would be this great as a senior and admit to enjoying these golden yrs. Heck, if anything, my old body has a hard time keeping up with my young spirit, as I believe in living life to the fullest :woohoo:! I thank God each day I can roll out of bed, as it sure beats the alternative. :dance3:

Have fun celebrating and believe 'the best is yet to come!' :flower3:

Yes, but tell your 7 year old that you're feeling great (if you are) & you are only 1 day older than you were yesterday!

wow escape - that's awesome.

You guys really made my day. I am feeling a whole lot better. I'm off for a day of shopping and lunch w/ my BFF (wow- that really makes me feel young).

Thanks - you all have a great day too.

Happy Birthday!

I can identify with your feelings. I will be turning 40 at the end of this year and I've been depressed about it for the past 6-9 months. I tell myself that I need to focus on enjoying the last of my 30s, but it is so hard. :sad1: I definitely worry about the things that I will now be facing sooner rather than later.
