Hello,

I am really enjoying my LR trial period. But, I cannot figure out how to start from scratch on a photo. For now I am just using the "Before and After: Copy Before's setting to After's" button that is just below my photo. Is that the most efficient way?

Thank you for your help.

I'm not sure what you mean by "start from scratch", each photo gets the same basic treatment during import, and you can choose a preset then.

If you want the picture to be complete "untouched", then go to the Develop module and look in the left toolbar. Go into Presets, then Lightroom Presets, and "General - Zeroed" should clear all the settings.

I have not actually begun to tackle presets. I am learning the right hand toolbar now. When I find myself making too many adjustments - and have lost my way - I would love to just bring it back to where it was before my experimenting. Right now I am just copying my "before to my after", clearing my history list, and trying again.

In addition to clearing all of my (mis)adjustments, I would like to know how to look at my history of adjustments and just pick out the one(s) I want to remove form the list.

In the Develop module, the left panel keeps the history. Just click anywhere you want on one of the history items and you go back to that point. To reset completely, just click on the bottom item in the list. If you start making any adjustments at that point, then all the other adjustments go away. To clear the whole history list, just click on the Reset button at the bottom of the list.
