Wow Glitterkittyy...
This thread REALLY HAS become ALL ABOUT YOU!!!!

This thread REALLY HAS become ALL ABOUT YOU!!!!

Time for me to make YAGE & get dinner!
The only one required to be delighted with your child is you. If some kid was touching my purse I would be annoyed also.
And yes I have a child but he knew the concept of keeping his hands to himself from an early age. The only ones he bugged were me and my husband.![]()
My child would have been told that it isn't nice to touch things that don't belong to him/her.

I really have to stop reading the DIS boards before going to bed at night.
I had this really weird dream last night about a little kid who sat next to me in a restaurant. He kept asking me questions and I was trying to answer them politely but he just wouldn't stop. Finally by the end he was asking me to kiss his little chin while he looked at me upside down and with his mouth full of food. At that point the dream got too strange and I woke up.
I think sometimes my DH thinks I make up the stuff that happens on these boards but that was the first time I ever had a nightmare about a thread!
Me and DS went shopping today and went to McD's for lunch. We sit down and an old lady sits next to us. We're eating and I notice he gave the lady's handbag a flick with his finger. I told him how its rude to touch people's things. I know he's expecting this old lady to smile at him or something.HE then taps on the bench next to his leg. The lady says to him rather meanly can you stop that it's annoying. Now my DS asks her what her name is. She tells him it's none of your business. Poor DS looked so shocked. I was thinking not so nice things but didn't say anything. After he finished I took him to the pet store where the poor barking puppies took his mind off the rudeness.
Thanks!!! Take THAT, Stacerita!
Wait a minute.....heyyyyyyyy! I'm offended!![]()

My evil plan succeeds!![]()
She should not have sat next to you if she could not tolerate children!!! Sounds like yours is a typical curious and uninhibited 4 year old and was not at all out of line. What a mean old bag... hello-- it IS McDonald's!! I think you reacted and recovered the day well though!
Speaking of McDonalds, does anyone ever get that rubbery bit in the chicken nuggets?

Oh, and if we are still talking about the lady and the kid, I think anyone who has ever had experience with a child who has not been taught manners would agree that the parent should not have let the child continue to bug the lady. People should realize not everyone thinks their kids are cute or wants to talk to them during their meal.
I'm not a child hater either. I have three children who were taught to respect other people's space.
The older lady has a right to sit wherever she chooses to sit. Even if she doesn't like children. Who knows why she picked that seat. She picked it and had every right not to be bothered. I know my nana enjoys conversing with little children, but not all the time. Sometimes she just wants to sit and eat her burger. She also likes to sit in the same seat every time no matter who is sitting next to it.

I work with children, and I think the child should have been stopped.
There are times that you just don't want to interact with another person's child. That is your right, you are not their parent.
Maybe for those "mean" older adults who don't want to entertain and/or interact with a child who is allowed to continue to annoy them after having already been spoken to once, McDonald's could install an "ignore" button like we have here on the DIS.. "Can't see you".....![]()
I think we should make a request to the mods to rename this the glitterkitty thread. All glitterkitty, all the time.![]()
