A Jolly Holiday with Masseys: THE TRIP REPORT - WDW Dec2019

Really! Huh! That's pretty good. I had no idea they weren't just left to their own devices after training was complete.

The activities are to keep them busy until the actually start working and to get them together to mingle. Danielle's group checked in on he Tuesday they had their Traditions class on Saturday and she doesn't start training until tomorrow. This gives them time to get moved in and the activities keep them from being bored since they can't get into the parks for a bit.

I wouldn't mind doing a skyliner tour. Sounds fun. And some day... I'll tackle that Sink (but only with some help. Otherwise it'd just go to waste... or waist... whichever.)

Dennis is convinced he could do it with a little help.

Cute shots. :)

Thank you! She is having lots of fun coming up with cute pictures.

DHS- Thursday, December 19th-Hot Diggity Dog Diggity

Well since break time was nixed we decided it was the perfect time to use our anytime FP for Slinky Dog. This was going to be a first for everyone including John Paul. He made the cut for 7 Dwarfs so now it was time to see if he would for Slinky Dog. He had been watching the ride and really wanted to ride.

Does he measure up?
584098

I kept trying to get him to raise his chin but he kept trying to raise his heels.
584099

584100

The CM worked with him and worked with him but in the end he just didn't quite make it.
584101

He was devastated and did what any toddler would do, he pitched a fit.
584102

This really made us all upset. Michelle ended up taking him to The Incredible area. Dennis sat the ride out so Michelle would have someone to ride with later(honestly he really didn't want to ride). He has a fear of heights and doesn't like coasters where you can see the drop coming. He loves RRC since it's basically in the dark. That left just Danielle and I. I had been really looking forward to this ride but since we had split up it took some of the fun out of it for me. I enjoyed it but not as much as I thought I would. I can't believe I'm going to share this horrible picture but anything for the report.
584104

After our ride we meet back up with Michelle in The Incredible Area. I'm going to let her fill in what they did while they waited for us.

It was not the perfect time to do the Visa Meet and Greet with Darth Vader. John really enjoyed meeting Kylo Ren in 2018. We wanted to see if he was still attracted to the Dark Side.

584105

Before we went in Dennis pulled out his Light Saber to make sure we would all be protected.

584106

John Paul wasn't really scared but he wasn't all smiles this time around either.
584107

I don't know what happened to Danielle but the rest of us enjoyed our picture with Vader.

Keeping with the GE theme it was finally time to check out Oga's. Like just about everyone we wanted to experience as much of GE as we could so we had to have a drink here too. It was really crowded when we got there and we were placed, not seated in an alcove with a standing bar. There was also another small group placed in the same area. Our waitress must have been new because she was very unsure of what she was doing and it took a really long time to get our drinks. We ended up changing our order to go which took away from the presentation of the drinks. We got 1 Bespin Fizz (Bacardi Superior Rum, Yuzu Puree, Pomegranate Juice, White Cranberry Juice and a Cloud Swirl), 1Yub Nub ( Malibu Pineapple Rum, Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum, Citrus Juices & Passion Fruit) and 3 Carbon Freezes. When she brought the bill it was for over $200 and most definitely not our bill. She wasn't horrible just really out of her element. She did humor us and take a group picture for us. Being in the little alcove really made it feel like we were on the outside of the fun and just the overall experience was not good for us. I personally would like to give it another try but I'll have to do that without Dennis since he refuses to go back. I might try for a seating in September but I'm not sure I want to do this alone either.

A couple of the pictures we got including some JP took to help keep him occupied. Can you guess which ones he took?

I'm going to stop here. Hopefully Michelle will chime in to fill in some gaps.

She is having lost of fun but realized on that first day how hard it is to do everything on her own. I hurt to hear about her frustration but it will also be a great learning experience. Her room is still not finished but she was really proud of herself that she could get to Target without using WAZE now. Her program ends on January 20th. Seems so far away.
it will be an amazing experience for Danielle and a real taste of adulthood. Hopefully time will fly by until you’re down to visit.
My greatest fear the last time was she would go down there and never come back to finish her degree, now I just have to worry that she might not come back.
Totally get that!
John Paul has grown up so much and is so funny. The things that come out of his mouth keeps us laughing.
John Paul seems full of fun!
I'm really enjoying following along this time around by watching the blogs her friends are doing. I get to see some much more of Danielle than last time
It lovely for you to see how Danielle is doing. I love all the photos you’ve shared.

Poor JP - I am sorry he didn’t make the cut for SDD and totally get how that took the taste of the experience for the rest of you. Sounds like it could have been a better GE experience too. Maybe next time!

I kept trying to get him to raise his chin but he kept trying to raise his heels.
But hey... Nice try there.
The CM worked with him and worked with him but in the end he just didn't quite make it.
Oh, no...
He was devastated and did what any toddler would do, he pitched a fit.

Oh dear. Had a feeling that would happen.
At least he's doing it in the shade.
:rolleyes1
He love RRC since it's basically in the dark.
Glad he can at least enjoy that one. :)

 I totally get that.

I'll just say... you look pretty intense there. :)
We wanted to see if he was still attacked to the Dark Side.
Hopefully he could defend himself.

Wise decision. Never know when you're going to be attacked by the dark side.
Cool shot! And the motion blur really adds to the effect!
Nice shot. :thumbsup2

That's too bad. I've only been once, but was seated at a table (with others) and it was, while not perfect (not sharing would've been better), it was still quite nice.
:lmao:

I'm hoping she does a lot of growing up. So far time is going really fast.

Thank you! I'm thankful for the ones she sends. A lot of what I see is on her Instagram story so it flashes by. Today she posted a photo of her current uniform.

It was very disappointing but he did get to ride it when they went for Labor Day weekend last year.

I have hope of a better Oga's experience next time.

Glad he can at least enjoy that one. :)

Good thing he can cause I don't like it. I've done it twice but it messes with my equilibrium.

I totally get that.

I enjoyed it much more last month when we rode it.

I'll just say... you look pretty intense there.

And that is being kind.

Hopefully he could defend himself.

Ugh I messed up there. I corrected it. It should have read "attracted".

Cool shot! And the motion blur really adds to the effect!

Actually he was swinging it around so that shot was in motion.

Nice shot. :thumbsup2

Thanks!

I'm glad you experience was good. I might try to make an ADR in hopes that Danielle can go with me in September.

Cheaper than whiskey!

I prefer "attacked". :)
Actually he was swinging it around so that shot was in motion.
Which is what makes it such a good shot.

I'd go again. ::yes::

Poor Guy... It's hard when he really wanted to ride...

I enjoyed it but not as much as I thought I would. I can't believe I'm going to share this horrible picture but anything for the report.
The whole expierence probably temptered the ride. I mean it's a fun coaster but it isn't the BEST coaster.

I don't know what happened to Danielle but the rest of us enjoyed our picture with Vader.

Don't you love when that happens? You just can't remember what happened to soemone in a picture after the fact..

He got excited every time we passed it.

I do not remember why she didn't get in the picture. She got a second shot at a picture with Vader on her first DCP with her roomies. The only day they went to DHS for the CM previews of Mickey Runaway Railroad.
