A Jan 2009 TR... twins, one parent and 103 degree fevers! **UD 11-28 w/ pics**

Poor Sophia! An ear infection and strep throat are bad enough, but on vacation?? UGH!

Love the pics of all the princesses. I miss out on those having all boys. Although, Jonah did agree to stand in line to see them on our 2007 trip mainly because his little friend had asked for an autograph! CUTE! It was so fun meeting them, but I doubt it will happen again!

So funny about the boycott of pink! When my oldest, now almost 15, was in Kindergarten, he wore ONLY blue. Funny how kids go through those phases!

I hope Sophia gets to feeling better! Can't wait to hear more!

Oh...yay on the new dates and new resort!:banana:

Whew! What an ordeal for you all -- especially poor Sophia. Isn't it great how quickly kids bounce back, though? :)

No kidding... by the next day it was as if nothing had happened!

As I always tell my sister (who has two boys)... girls are the best! ;)

Surprise, surprise, Sophia was feeling much better after her nap and doctor visit, and wanted to go back to Epcot (as long as she could ride in her stroller). Hannah and I were more than willing, so when the van got to the clinic we asked the driver to take us right back where we started out four hours before.

We headed right back over to the Seas where I handed my camera to the girls so I could call our peditrician (and my mom, who was scheduled to arrive in a couple days). Here are some of their pictures:

And finally, one of me on the phone!

After the phone calls we spent a long time exploring the Seas, then headed back to the Land to ride Soarin' again and grab some dinner at Sunshine Seasons (one of the best food courts in WDW, IMO). Sophia was still going strong, so we decided to head over to WS to do the two boat rides and catch Illuminations...

YAY :yay: So glad Sophia was feeling better! :thumbsup2 Glad you were able to enjoy the rest of the day! :goodvibes Your girls ar excellent picture takers! My DD8 took her own camera with her and most of her pics are very blurry or on a slant!

Thanks! They got their own camera this year, so I am thinking there will be a lot more of their pictures in our next trip report!

Yay for enjoying the rest of your day!

Your girls are great little photographers! I love the "hugging Nemo" picture...so cute! :goodvibes

I am sure they were not supposed to be up there, but... :rolleyes1

Maybe I've been talking about this trip and Sophia being sick too much... currently both girls are out of school with fevers and strep throat. I hope they are getting it all out of their systems now...

They're just worried about the Halloween party on Friday! I think they'll be back at school tomorrow, so they shouldn't have to miss it. They're missing Brownies tonight, though.

Speaking of Halloween, what is everyone going as? Hannah will be Indiana Jones, Sophia a clown, and me... I'm going as mom (again). :)

Oh my! Poor Sophia! So glad that she started to feel better and that you were able to spend some time in Epcot!! And YAY for the Poly!!! You will LOVE staying there!! :lovestruc

OH NO, how terrible, poor baby, I'm glad she felt better after her nap and some meds...
The weather you had gives me a good idea of what it'll be like for us in Jan, so thanks this is helpful, Can't wait to read more :D

I'm very excited about Poly. :cool1: What building were you in? Any recommendations?

I think January is a great time of year to go. It was cool the first couple days, but we were wearing shorts by the end of the trip. The crowds were manageable and it has the lowest rainfall of the entire year.

sorry the girls are not feeling well!  We have been sick here too! Just finishing up! The girls both went back to school this week and only have the remainder of a little cough. :thumbsup2 Hope your girlies feel better really soon! :goodvibes

Halloween? My dd8 is a cowgirl for school today and dd6 is a dressed as "a lady" - she came up with idea herself! She is wearing a beautiful green velvet dress with crinolins under it and a funny floppy hat! :confused3 Her own creation! ;) For going out tomorrow night, though, they are both wearing big, very warm plush costumes. DD8 will be a zebra and dd6 will be a blue pegasus! :)

It turns out that adding two full days to our trip really changed our plans! We're not nearly as rushed now and I think we're going to spend one full day not in the parks. H and S want to go to a water park, and Typhoon Lagoon will be the only one open while we're there. Here's hoping for good weather. :goodvibes Otherwise we'll probably go to the Boardwalk or play mini golf. Or both. Or maybe all three :rotfl:

I'm working on our detailed itineraries.

Thursday, Jan 21

7:00 am: leave BWI
9-ish: arrive MCO
11-ish: arrive Poly. Check in, dump carry-ons and grab a QS lunch. Get on the bus for DHS.
At DHS, try to check out Indiana Jones and the other stunt show. See when we can ride TSM.
4:25 ADR at Sci Fi
As soon as we're done with dinner, head over to Fantasmic. We missed this last year and it is a "must do" for this trip.
After Fantasmic, stay at the park until 8:00 closing then head back to Poly for an early night.

Friday, Jan 22

My girls are not early risers (10:00 on weekends!). I am up between 5-6 seven days a week. Because I like to let them sleep in I try not to schedule too many early morning ADRs. We didn't make one rope drop on our last trip!

Wake up, get cleaned up, and head to MK via monorail
breakfast at Main Street Bakery
head to Tomorrowland, ride rides, see about going on the "new" SM
12:30 ADR at CRT
after lunch go back to Poly for rest/swim
monorail to Epcot late afternoon, destination FW
6:30 ADR GG
stay for EMH at Epcot that night and see how many times we can ride Soarin'
we'll catch Illuminations another night!

Two days down, six to go :thumbsup2

Looks great! So fun to be planning a new trip isn't it??

My boys are big enough now that I really leave their halloween costumes up to them. Dan is 14 so I'm sure he'll just slap on his baseball jersey or something. Although I did tell him that he has to at least make an effort at a costume or he can't go. I hate seeing the bigger kids out in their regular clothes trick-or-treating. If you're too old to dress up, you're too old to get candy!

Anyway.......Isaiah is going to be a 'bright idea'. He and Jeff have rigged a contraption that allows him to have a light bulb light up over his head using a battery pack and some old parts. Very cute and all his idea.

Jonah is going as a mad scientist. He has a lab coat, silly goggles, and a crazy white wig.

It's supposed to be raining here so we'll see how trick-or-treating goes!

I'm very excited about Poly. :cool1: What building were you in? Any recommendations?

We stayed in the Tokelau building--I had actually requested it. We were on the 3rd floor and our room overlooked the quiet pool. It was also close to the Great Ceremonial House AND to the bus stop! GREAT location--I highly recommend that building! We'll be requesting it again in May for sure! Check out this great unofficial Poly site: http://www.tikimanpages.com/tiki/.

I promise, I'll get back to the TR soon. I've been having some problems with my home computer. I'm so glad I have a nice, fast computer at work :)

In the meantime, here's Hannah as Indiana Jones and Sophia as a clown...

Hi from another Baltimore girl! I'm glad you were able to get some meds for Sophia and she seems to be on the mend. Looking forward to the rest of the trip!

As it started to get dark (and cooler, though not nearly as cold as the night before), we headed to WS to ride the Gran Fiesta Tour. This ended up being one of the girls favorites. Then Hannah and Sophia had LOTS of fun trying on hats.

We went back to Norway (where our day started so long ago) to ride Maelstrom. Then we took the obligatory troll photo.

Back to Mexico to kill some time before Illuminations, we rode Gran Fiesta another, oh, ten times or so. :) Sophia was pretty wiped at this point, so we watched Illuminations and headed back to WL.

Why can't I get a good picture of this? Maybe with the new camera...
