A Jan 2009 TR... twins, one parent and 103 degree fevers! **UD 11-28 w/ pics**

Holy smokes! For some reason I wasn't getting emails telling me that you had posted installments. I was waaaay behind...all the way back to where you had the paramedics strolling up to take care of your little one. I'm so glad that Sophia is starting to feel better. You are scaring me though.....you can't be getting sick too!

All caught up.
Your girls are so cute.:lovestruc
Poor Sofia, I'm glad she quickly got better. It doesn't sound to good that you were cold.:scared1: I love the WL. We stayed there in '05.
The TS photo area looks great. My girls love TS and TSM so both are on my list for my trip coming up.

Hello! When are you going back? I'm hoping it won't be quite as hard to get on TSM this January, but I am probably deluding myself! :rotfl:

I'm joining, I followed you through from our Jan 2010 board. I think we're in Disney at the same time? And we were at WL in Jan 2009 over the MLK weekened / week.

Welcome! When are you going this year? Where are you staying? So you're one of my fellow lovers of Disney in January! We'll be there (at Poly this time) the 21-28. Can't wait to go back...

Well, welcome back! At this point in the trip I am definitely getting sick. My fault for not letting Hannah share water bottles with Sophia, but sharing them with her myself. Sometimes I think I am invincible. :headache: Mommies aren't supposed to get sick!

We're at AKL Jan 23- 31st!

I would Love to stay at the POLY - lucky you!

Oh no! A sick mommy is not a good thing...hopefully it helps that your parents are on the way.

OH NO!!!! :scared1: Gosh I sure hope that you felt better really quickly! Y'all better start making sure to stock up on healthy now before your next trip! ;) What is a "Zero"? It looked like a bunny of some kind!:confused3 I too was disappointed about the "Hat" being painted at DHS - total bummer! Just one more thing to look foward to next trip, right? :goodvibes

Just stumbled across this now and am very interested to hear how the rest of it went. Sorry to hear you and your one daughter were sick on this trip. We just returned from our first trip ever with our three little ones aged 3, 3, 2 (yes we have twins) but we're all boys. My biggest worry was becoming sick, but my eldest was the only one to get sick and he waited until the plane ride home.

Hi, We are going back November 21st. We went last thanksgiving too and thanksgiving saturday all the TSM FPs were gone for the by 9:45. On memorial day we were able to get FPs at 12:30 for 7. You shouldn't have any problem in January. Nice update!
Doesn't sound to good about mommy having a fever. Mommys aren't supposed to get sick especially in DW. Good thing your parents are coming.

Poly was a surprise! We were booked at CR, but when teh 4/3 deal came out it became cheaper (per day) to stay at Poly (and add 2 days to our trip!).

We should plan a meet since our dates are almost the same.

love this TR. Can't wait to read the rest.

Thanks! :goodvibes

Oh NO! Moms can't get sick -- especially at Disney.

Mommy got sick...

great pics!! Cant wait to see what happens when youa re sick!!

Update soon :)

And still had to be the cruise director...

Oh no! A sick mommy is not a good thing...hopefully it helps that your parents are on the way.

Because my parents, while well intentioned, did not have the months of planning and park strategy knowledge that I had :)

Fortunately we had plenty of antibiotics from Sophia's adventure, so I was hitting that pretty hard.

Zero is the ghost dog from Nightmare Before Christmas. He's a strange looking little thing...

Oh no!! Mommies don't have time to be sick!! I hope everything turns out ok!!

All was well in the end!

I probably should have let my parents take over and spent a day resting in the hotel. What?? I was at Disney World... I wasn't going to miss anything! :rotfl:

Hi! Thanks for joining! Wow, you might as well have triplets :)

I have a very funny story about Sophia and the plane ride home. If I ever get to the end of this report I will definitely share it.

First, some introductions: Joining us this day and the next are my Mom (Gran) and my step-father (Pop). They live in Landrum, South Carolina, having moved there from Charlotte three years ago.

Here is a picture of us at Pop's 60th birthday party last year (me, my older sister Michelle, Pop, my baby sister Lindsey, Gran).

Gran and Pop booked 2 nights at the WL and had 2-day PH tickets. They had never been to AK, so we were going there first. That night I had booked the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Review. A big day!

But now that Sophia was finally getting better, I was definitely sick. I did not bring a thermometer with me, but I know I woke up with a fever. Even though it was getting warmer out, I was freezing. And my throat hurt. And my head hurt. took a couple Advil and we got ready for our day. I'm pretty sure we had breakfast in our room, because I can't remember going anywhere else! Sophia really wanted to wear shorts or capris, but I made her put on pants (she was bitter).

I will apologize in advance as most of this day was a blur. The Advil was more or less controlling my fever, but my head was killing me all day. It didn't help that it was a pretty warm day (why does AK always feel warmer than the other parks? Is it all the foliage?) AND I was now in charge of my parents as well as my children. I mean, my parents meant well, and offered to take the girls so I could stay in the room, but I didn't want to miss anything. And once we got to AK, I was still in charge of where we were going, what we were riding, where we were eating, etc... It was exhausting.

We didn't have much of a plan. Hannah and I wanted to go on EE and I wanted to go on Dinosaur, as I have something of a thing for T-Rex, but other than that, it didn't really matter. As we entered the park (after rope drop, of course). We headed toward Dinoland and immediately saw the character spot had Pooh and friends. Since we were not going to CP on this trip, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to meet Pooh:

This is my FAVORITE picture from the whole trip!! Can you see the fever in my eyes: :lmao:

I'm not really sure what we did next. My next pictures are from Nemo. We were in the very back row of the audience, and while I loved this show I was having a hard time enjoying it because my fever was on the way back up and the AC was pumping into the theater. I was FREEZING.

We also went on the Safari, and Hannah and I did EE with FPs (and, if I recall, had no problems getting them nor did we have a long wait). We both loved it, and I think even Sophia will give it a try on our upcoming trip. We had a QS lunch at Yak and Yeti, which I barely ate but everyone else seemed to enjoy. We watched the monkeys for awhile... if I ever get a hold of my Mom's pictures, I can probably supplement this day.

After about four hours I was done and just wanted to go back to the hotel and chill. We never made it to Dinosaur, or FLK, but I guess those are just things to look forward to on our next trip. The girls were dying to go to the WL pool, it was warm enough, and this was the first day Sophie could swim with her ear.

We took a few parting shots at the DVC set-up on the way out and headed back to our WL "home."

Up next, the HDDMR and my blame it on the sangria (or the flu) night.

The first time I went on a Disney trip, my sons got sick. The eldest had to be drugged with tylenol and gravol to get on the plane. He was better by the next day. the day after that the middle son threw up in front of the bus, so everyone went on ahead without us. On the last day my yougest son was sick on Main street as we were leaving, but far from looking horrified, people offered us wipes and water and sympathy. :cloud9:
Can't wait to read more.

Joining in...I will be traveling to DW in January with DD 9 and DS 7. I am interested in hearing about how the rest of the trip went. :)

I think you looked pretty in your pic, despite being so sick :)

SO sorry that happened to you!! Must have been so hard considering everyone was depending on you to navigate. Hope it gets better...but looking at your next title doesn't leave me very hopeful!! And I know what you mean about AK...it seems so stuffy and hot there!! SO impressed your DD rode EE!! My hubby is trying to talk me into letting my 6 year old ride :scared1:

Also, this weather is confusing me!!!?? Now it is hot :confused3 I guess I should not be confused b/c our weather is the exact same way, but it makes planning very difficult. My solution is to get the kid's short sleeve shirts made that we can also put a long sleeve under if it is cold. That way, on the warm days we can wear the short sleeved t's by themselves and the cold days with t's under them (and our fleeces). Does this sound do-able to you?:goodvibes

Sophia really wanted to wear shorts or capris, but I made her put on pants (she was bitter).

:rotfl2: Sounds like something I would do to my kids, too!

This is a really good picture!

:scared1: I think we all know where this is headed!
