Grove City College in western PA operates on a different model. Their sticker price is the price almost everyone pays. For a small private college, it's quite reasonable. They accept no federal aid. They never build without having the money in hand. You can reduce your costs with a President's Scholarship which isn't a lot, but is based on your score on a particular test they give. My kids went there. You receive a laptop and printer as a freshman which is yours to keep when you graduate. Current costs are $20,200 a year. That's tuition, room and board. Student body was around 2400 when the kids went there. Pretty competitive to get into. Challenging academically once you are there.
