A "How-To" Walk Through of Drinking Around the World at Epcot World Showcase

So do you guys collect some sort of momento of all your beers? I heard a few mention a passport, do they have one for beers around the world? That'd be cool. :thumbsup2

My husband wants to do it on our upcoming trip and told me to research it so OP thank you so much for posting this thread. :worship:

Sadly, the beer selection at Epcot is less than awesome. Real missed opportunity.

We tried to do this 4 years ago on our hm. Got as far as Germany. I knew I was wasted because " welcome to china!" made me laugh so hard over and over again. I still say it to dh every now and then. Definitely a must do while in Epcot.

When I was there less than 2 weeks ago, there were quite a few crawl teams. Many of them had matching shirts with checklists on the back. I wish I had taken a picture. They listed each of the countries and then a circle next to them to be checked with a sharpie. Some were shirts from multiple crawls so the top of the columns of circles would have the date. The fronts of the shirts would be the cause or the name of their crawl group. It was FANTASTIC!

It gets much better during Food & Wine, but in many respects I have to agree. They are hampered by (a) only large brewers seem to get products in the parks and (b) the average tourist has terrible taste in beers. I would love it if the American Pavillion added a "Craft Brew Pub" featuring beers from fantastic American craft breweries all over the country - I might actually have a reason to stop in the American pavillion then.

/ Make it a whole new BBQ restaurant with a huge craft beer selection and I may move down to Orlando and live there.

Where did you purchase the Aquavit shot @ Norway and Rumplemintz in Germany?

I did it on our trip 2 weeks ago! I'm not a big beer fan, so my toughest points were actually at the U.S. and Canada, but here's the list, with my preferences ordered 1-11, with 1 being best:

Mexico (11): Mezcal (was not a big fan, but I didn't want a whole margarita)
Norway (3): Aquavit shot
China (4): Plum wine
Germany (5): Rumplemintz
Italy (2): Rosa Regale
U.S.A. (10): Sam Adams
Japan (6): Sake (medium dry--don't remember the particular brand)
Morocco (8): Casablanca Coffee (the one with vanilla liqueur)
France (1): Grand Marnier Slush
England (7): Strongbow
Canada (9): Moosehead

The Canada pavillion really needs an Icewine tasting booth! And the U.S. needs some bourbon/whiskey options, or some California wines.

A craft brew pub would be a great idea to add to the American pavillion.

Yes, they actually have some very decent -- and somewhat unusual -- beers during F&W. It's a shame they don't have that, or something like it, all year 'round.

I'd love to see a craft beer pub or booth at the U.S. pavilion. I'd also love to see some of the great German beers in Germany.

I wonder if they have contracts with a beverage vendor or distributor that keeps the selection limited.

Both countries have outdoor drink stands with these shots. Norway's was close to Mexico, next to its Kim Possible booth; Germany's was near the water.

We've done the Drink Around the World Showcase many times, and not too long ago found some really cool personalized passports on the internet (I think they were free for up to five personalized passports, with something like a $10 shipping and handling fee.) PM me, and I can send you the link.

I also really like to take a photo in each country, wearing the hat of the country or using a prop in the country. The passports we bought had a deluxe guide with other suggestions, and a guide to bathrooms. :lmao:

Also, my husband and I tend to share a beverage in each country, so that we can enjoy the entire loop.

In answer to your question yes! I know when I used to work there they said that they can't just go to any brewer and ask for beer they have a certain list of companies they can use
