A "Hopefully" Not So Scary WDW Sibling Reunion - MNSSHP 2011 (Update 9/11 with pics)

That's a very good Animal Kingdom day planned!

We're arriving for our one night at POP the same time you are. However, we're getting there a lot later than you. ;)

Yak and Yeti counter service is good. I've personally had the honey chicken, which is really good, and my brother has had the shrimp lo mein. It's all very good. My SIL had the fried rice and an egg roll and loved that too.

Well I'm just as excited as you are and yes I do read this bd

 DB, you should post here more often because I think you need a certain number of posts before they let you attach a picture. You know, we will probably have some winners from this trip! :rotfl:

I hope it works out because its a lot different from our last trip's touring plan. Thanks for the suggestions for Yak and Yeti. I'm realllllly excited to try it. We love Asian food! Cooking Chicken Fried Rice tonight....:thumbsup2 Now, I'm really hungry. :goodvibes

Hi Everyone! We are 55 days away! :dance3:

I've been holding off purchasing our MNSSHP tickets until our trip was officially booked as a package and "paid" for. When the infamous free-dining promotion debuted and we booked, I ordered my Disney Rewards Card which is how we plan to pay for the party. :thumbsup2 Well.....today it came in!!! Yay for Mickey Mail!!!! Ok so it's not "techically" Mickey Mail but it is a "Disney" card AND its providing me with "Disney Magic." So I say it counts. ;) OBVIOUSLY, I jumped on the computer and ordered them! :yay::woohoo: So, I know that I could have printed them or did a will call but NOOOOO I paid $5 extra dollars to get what??? More Mickey Mail!!!!:wizard: I will use the tickets in my scrapbook after the trip so its really just a future investment in that scrapbook right???

Ok so I realized this weekend that I need to start my packing list. This is an important part of my trip planning because it makes me aware of what we still need to purchase before the trip. Since dh and I work in the school system, we only get paid once a month and at the same time. This really sucks to budget by the way and we only have 2 paychecks before Disney!!!!! Anyway, I don't have enough shorts for this trip. I gotta' get on the ball with this...

I do, however, have our Full Day #2 plans to share with you guys. This day is our official Magic Kingdom day. It really is our second visit to Magic Kingdom because of the party on our arrival day. These plans may change depending on what we accomplish at the party or what we decide to repeat based on our experience at the party.

So, a weird thing happened today....

Backstory: I ordered a few tshirts from Disneystore.com for our trip. Yesterday, I received a box with some of the shirts. Today, I received an email from UPS that the other package had been left on my porch. :yay: I was expecting 3 t-shirts in a small package. What I found was two 2ft x 3ft boxes! I was so curious as to what was in the packages. When I opened them, I found:

IMG_2506.jpg

60 of each of two shirts I was waiting for! :scared1: Now, I had already printed my order when I originally placed it and knew I had only ordered 1 of each and my total $ was correct. Even the packing list said quantity 1, price $7.20. I thought about selling them on Ebay for about a millisecond :lmao: but nah! I called guest services. I think I shocked them. They are sending UPS back to my house some time next week to pick up the boxes minus the 1 shirt of each that I ordered. They couldn't believe that had happened and neither could I. It is kinda' funny though. I could have made 120 kids very happy...;)

The mailbox was also filled with Disney Magic today. Today we received....

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party Tickets!!!!! Officially in and FREEEEEE thanks to our points from our Disney Visa Rewards card. :thumbsup2

So yay for Pixie Dust!

I love Mickey mail! I don't get it that often because we are DVC members, so our Mickey mail isn't as fun.

How bizarre about the packages! Thats a major oops.

Oh my goodness... as soon as I saw the pics of all of the Disney shirts - all I could think was 'how cute are those and wonder what size?' :lmao:

Good for you calling guest services! :goodvibes

I wish I had a DVC. Maybe I'll rent points one day. I'm nervous about trusting someone else with my vacation. :confused3

The same really nice cast member called me Monday to say UPS would be by to pick up the boxes in the next 3 business days. So far, they haven't. She also sent me a $20 gift card for calling to return the shirts. I thought that was nice. :goodvibes

So one of my very best friends who lurks here on my trip report (get an account and POST!!! LOL) told me I needed to post an update. ;)

Today I had to sit next to my boss all day for a training. While I had him cornered and in a good mood....I broke it to him that I would need a couple days off after our fall break. At first he told me he would deny my request :scared1: but after I pouted a little, he told me he was joking. Whew! Sometimes I don't know how to take him because he picks. He is a really good boss but sometimes that means he has to make unpopular decisions. I'm just glad today wasn't those times. :woohoo:

On to planning... We are offically at 44 days!!!!!!!! :yay::yay::yay:

WOW! That's a lot of tshirts!!! :rotfl: Nice of the CM to send you a giftcard.

Glad your boss was in a good mood and approved the time off. :thumbsup2

Plans look great!! Are all those must-do's? Or would-like-to-do's??

Today, I updated our park cards that we take into the parks with us. I have 4x6 index cards in small, thin, photo albums organized by park that have info on the rides and the order we would like to do them in. We can stray from the plan as needed but usually the order works for us. I also include little things that I want to notice in the parks that we usually pass right by. Each time we have been back to Disney, we've had to update the cards to add the rides the kids are now big enough to ride and the changes the parks have made. This year I had to delete Toontown notes :sad2: but next trip I will be adding a whole lot more for the new Fantasyland rides! :thumbsup2

Our last full day in the parks will be at

Hollywood Studios

Toy Story Mania
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
Disney Jr. Live! (maybe)
The Magic of Disney Animation (to see what characters are available)
Rock’N’Roller Coaster
Tower of Terror
Lunch @ Sci-Fi Drive In Theater
The Great Movie Ride
Star Tours
Muppet Vision 3D
Backlot Tour
Lights, Motors, Action!
Walt, One Man’s Dream (more for me than anybody else)

**Fantasmic is now available EVERY NIGHT during our trip. Hopefully we would have seen Fantasmic! on our MK day and tonight we can just enjoy the low crowds as the park empties into the stadium. I know it would be easier to just see it this night but its more about low crowd levels. If that doesn't work out, we can just see it this night. I can be flexible.

Hi! I'm still getting caught up on your PTR (I'm starting at the last pages and working my way back!) but yay for all of your Mickey mail! The MNSSHP tickets are cute, I kind of wish I paid to get them shipped, but I was cheap and went with Will Call! :rotfl:

That's so weird that you got those boxes of t-shirts!! I hope they give you a gift card or something, for being so honest, you know a lot of people would have kept them! :)

Your plans for each day sound great so far! :thumbsup2 I don't know what I'm going to do about Fantasmic, now that it will be playing every night! I haven't seen it since 2008 and I'd like to, but I'm just not sure I care enough about it! I guess we'll decide when we get there! :thumbsup2

I love the Mickey head Saints shirts! My sister's family and I are 27 days away from our Disney trip. We live in Covington and love our Saints! How can I get these shirts? Do you have a picture of the full view?

We got a couple more things done for the trip last night.

We (our family and my sister's family) booked our "travel" hotel. Since we want to leave asap after school/work, we will drive half way to WDW, stay the night at a hotel, and drive the rest the next morning. We will also do the same on the way back to spend a half day in the parks before we leave. This helps break up the 12 hour drive which is so grueling. It actually breaks the trip up to a 7/5 split. My lovely sister found us a great hotel for a great price. Thanks, Sis!

We also ordered Halloween costumes for DD10 and DS6. DS was easy. He wanted to be a PowerRanger but quickly changed his mind when he saw the Incredibles Dash costume. :thumbsup2 We've always called him Dash. He is a little blond kid who is REALLY fast and is always active, hince the nickname. By all means, he wanted the "muscle" version of the costume cuz he wanted abs! :lmao:

DD10 was not so easy going. She is so hard to shop for!!! She hasn't been into the princess thing for a few years now, but she also doesn't want to dress up in anything typical Halloween like ghosts, zombies, witches, etc. She's been a pop star, a punk pirate (hot pink, skulls, etc.), Elizabeth Swan. I'm just running out of ideas. She doesn't like anything I suggest to her. There was the CUTEST Alice in Wonderland tween costume with blank and white striped stockings - made it more updated and not so prissy. She didn't like that. It would have been easier if she had some suggestions. The only thing she liked was an expensive Star War costume that she didn't even know the character and wasn't cute at all. We spent a couple of hours looking online. I had just about had it when she settled on (we compromised on) a monster bride costume. I think it looks more like Frankenstein's tween daughter. I'm glad we finally came to a decision. I ordered it immediately so she couldn't change her mind.

I almost ordered me a Native American costume but I'm so afraid of ordering something that wont fit me. I think DH and I will wait until the Halloween Shops open. I'm sure it will be soon. We usually have at least 2 that open up in town.

Today I am going to find tennis shoes for the trip. :thumbsup2
