A Hop, NO Skip, and Many Mishaps to a Disney Dream!

I remember seeing that dress somewhere.....:goodvibes

I'm sorry it was so hard to get Claire dressed, but in the end it was worth it for the beautiful shots you got! Not to mention how much fun Claire was having!:cutie:

I don't want to know what it was that was left behing in the room. It doesn't sound good.:sad2:

You are probably the only Diser who has seen that dress "live". :worship:

So cute! My DD6does the same shy thing with the characters! We had the same Mary last Aug in the MK. Love the dress!!

She talks and talks all about them after the meet, but she looks kind of scared for some characters. But I have learned that those faces mean she is having a good time and taking it all in.

Claire looked beautiful in her Mary dress! Your photos are great (as usual). Our first love is POP (before we bought DVC) and we still go back and 'visit' and take photos. So glad to see the work being done across the lake. They weren't doing much of anything in January (and we've watched it rust away over the past six years).

thanks. I will get to tour Pop for this upcomgin AEP trip, so I wil ltake more picutres and hopefully see more progress across the lake.

I have been seeing her dresses too...:worship: They are truly amazing!!! But yes, can't afford the (worth every penny) cost. I had wondered if I might be able to alter something myself. After seeing what you did... I wonder more if I could. Then again though... you did such a good job putting it all together I am not so sure I could even come close to getting something like that done. Those boots, while they put it over the budget are WAY too cute. :thumbsup2

They are awesome dresses. She did help direct me to find the boots and I can never thank her enough.

My Allison is EXACTLY the same. She just nods most of the time too.

The other night, I woke up to find Al standing thisclose to my face. I had a minor heart attack before I realized it was her. She then proceeded to state "I just blew my nose and it hurt when I did it". Great, Al. Thanks for that. Was it necessary to give me this all important info at 3:00 a.m.? I sent her back to her room.

I don't know how she can do it and she's getting worse. She came in about 11:45 last night and told me she counted sheep and she still can't sleep...I told her to count tractors next.

I love Claire's dress! It looks amazing. That picture with her and Mary is so cute!

Thanks. I was very happy with her dress too. And it was a personal goal to eventually have her photographed with Mary, so we got that acomplished.

This type of thing happens frequently at my house too with DD8. Usually she claims a bad dream or she can't sleep. She goes back and is asleep within minutes. Me, not so much. I lay awake for an hour.

Yes, some nights I will be dozing off and she comes in like 4 times. It seems that 4th time of being jerked out of sleep makes it so hard for me to easily fall back. I keep waiting for here to come in again.
They are always really dumb things too. The other night she came in our room crying and asked if we could go to Sea World next trip because she really missed. it. That was random! :rolleyes1

I love that she got to see Mary Poppins in her Mary Poppins outfit - perfect!!!!! I'm glad your Park Fare went better than mine did 2 years ago. I don't think I ever got that far in my trip report! We woke Maddie up from a nap to get there and she freaked out and thought the stepsisters were going to rip her dress! Uggh! So I'm glad she woke up and enjoyed the experience.

So tell me more about photopass shares on Facebook?

Oh no! But we have had times too where I envison a wonderful time and then it just doesn't work out because someone is tired or grumpy. We have had dinner there twice and did enjoy it, but the one time was a day that Claire was sick and she was a little short with the step sisisters. But Prince Charming was "wonderful" in her eyes.
On facebook you can join a group called Disney Photopass Share. You can look for a post of someone going at your time or you can start one. You can lead it or ask if anyone else wants to lead it. I did one for this trip and led it. (I like control :confused3) It seemed to work out fine. (I have led them on Dis before too back when they were allowed) and I am leading one for this upcoming trip. It makes the cost a lot less and since I will probably have a limited amount of pictures this time , it's a better deal for me.

Jen, your dark ride pictures are AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! You use a different lens for those, right? You might need to give me a few pointers in a couple weeks! :goodvibes

Look at those grins! THAT'S what it's all about it! LOVE it!

And wow, you guys are amazing for staying that long at MK!!!! I have only been in the park that late once, during NYE - and it was fantastic. Zero lines everywhere!

Claire looks practically perfect in every way in her Mary Poppins dress! :goodvibes

Thanks. I used my 50mm lens for a lot of the dark ride pictures. I'm not sure if I am going to bring it this time or not. I amd trying to figure which ones to bring and be able to carry easily. I've decided my camera bag is going in a back pack this trip and we'll see how that goes. Hopefully less stress on the shoulders. My camera bag was rubbing them raw this past trip.

I loved the Chip and Dale meet. One of the best ever!!!

Your Mary Poppins dress is beautiful and the pictures of Claire and Mary are so cute.

Thanks so much. I think it was more exciting for me for her to meet Mary than it was fo her. :rolleyes1

I am pretty far behind on your TR, but I have to tell you that Claire's dress is gorgeous. Kudos to you for making that. I think she had to be, without a doubt, the prettiest girl at the GF that day.

How about that regular parking - that's a mistake I'll never make again.

Fun pictures of Pop.

Excellent, late night at MK.

Tomorrow I will go back and try to read some of what I've missed.

Gorgeous macro photography

Thanks.
I am behind again on a lot of threads, so don't feel bad. And we are going to be gone most of the day today, so no chance of getting caught up again. :cool2:

Ummm, can I PLEASE have a Mary Poppins dress? That was awesome!!!

Um sure.....NOT! :rotfl2:

Woo hoo! Are you packed yet?

You know we want this TR finished before you go, right!?! :lmao: JK!

Love the Mary photos! It's amazing how kids do a 180 when someone "special" comes around! DS goes from yakking a mile a minute to not a peep, and just shyly smiles at them, or doesn't want to interact at all.

A couple years ago we did a breakfast at Chef Mickey's, and he couldn't stop hugging & kissing Minnie & Daisy. He loved the girls!

I too hate getting woken up in the middle of the night! I just lie awake, waiting for them to get back up again, and end up not getting any sleep!

Jen - so jealous you get to go to Disney AGAIN! I can't wait to hear about the TA stuff you will be doing, what a great opportunity.:thumbsup2

You should post a video of how that dance really looks like :thumbsup2

YAY :yay: I'm excited, we are gonna see some great photos from EVERYWHERE!

p.s Kadence finally got to see your Mary Poppins m&g photos. She went right to Claire's shoes and said "They are the same!" That's my shoe girl!;)

Jen, I enjoyed all the 1900 PF photos. The MP ones are awesome. That costume is just so eye-catching. You'll cherish those forever!

Whew! All caught up again!! You guys were amazing, staying up so long! Clairel looks adorable!

Yep, that sounds about right. It's a weekly (sometimes daily) occurence at our house.

Heaven help me if there is thunder. She is not really afraid it, but she acts like she is so she has a valid excuse for getting out of bed. You would think she would be more afraid of ME, but no.

Yay for single digits! I got my luggage tags today, the 3-D effect is so cool!

It's getting closer me, but not as close as you!:dance3:

What a perfect day you had a MK. I just couldn't imagine a better day!

River did the same as Claire he made it to the end of the 3:00am emh and stayed awake untill we got to the front of the park then he was GONE!

I can't sleep to long at Disney either I always feel like I'm missing something if my eyes are closed:laughing: I'm good to go with 4-5 hours.

The pictures with Mary were absolutely perfect with Claire in her dress! When we ate there I felt like the characters were being rushed with us too. Our server was always gone somewhere. We did the regular parking too and it was a hike to the resteraunt. I'm glad we tried it but I don't think we'll go again. Next time we'll try Crystal Palace fot the first time.

:yay::dance3::woohoo::banana: for the single digits!! I'm excited for you!

Yay for single digits!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the Facebook info - I got in on one of the last shares on the Dis for our last trip and it worked great!

Not packed yet. I have to wear some of those shorts in the next week. I have a feeling that on Sat I'll be doing a good share of last minute stuff. Skip has a tractor pull Sat, but I told him that I wasn't sure I'd be going. I would love to go, but we won't get home till late and I have to be up early, plus be sure I am totally organized and ready.

I like to do the jump dance!! :goodvibes

Woo hoo!!!

I like all dances related to Disney!

Jen - so jealous you get to go to Disney AGAIN! I can't wait to hear about the TA stuff you will be doing, what a great opportunity.:thumbsup2

I'm excited too. This will be fun, but a different kind of fun. It's work and I can't forget that, but what kind of work could be better than learning all thing Disney.

Single digits rock!

 YES!

You should post a video of how that dance really looks like :thumbsup2

YAY I'm excited, we are gonna see some great photos from EVERYWHERE!

p.s Kadence finally got to see your Mary Poppins m&g photos. She went right to Claire's shoes and said "They are the same!" That's my shoe girl!;)

I might get banned from Dis if I posted that video! :rotfl2:

Claire is a shoe girl too. A few years ago she actually laid on the floor and cried at Old Navy because I wasn't buying her the shoes she wanted. She's not normally like that, but I guess when it comes to shoes, she is. :rolleyes1
I just bought her a few pairs a week or so ago and showed htem to her the other day. She was in heaven.

Doing the single digit dance with ya (while being slightly jealous ;))
:

I am excited, but the bad thing is, I have no clue when I will be able to get there next. If things go the way I have planned, we'll do DCL next year and Universal. Or the other option is DL. So it could be 3 years before I get back there, assuming Skip goes with my plans. :rolleyes1 Of course I could try for another AEP in the future as well.

Jen, I enjoyed all the 1900 PF photos. The MP ones are awesome. That costume is just so eye-catching. You'll cherish those forever!

Thanks. I owe it all to you. You got me obsessed with the Mary dress a few years ago. And you are famous. In my next update you get a mention...not by me, but by the other "Mary Poppins" mom.

Whew! All caught up again!! You guys were amazing, staying up so long! Claire looks adorable!

Thanks. It was a long day, but it's not like we do it every day at home , so it was fun to have a nice late night.

Yep, that sounds about right. It's a weekly (sometimes daily) occurence at our house.

Heaven help me if there is thunder. She is not really afraid it, but she acts like she is so she has a valid excuse for getting out of bed. You would think she would be more afraid of ME, but no.

I always wonder that too. She should be afraid of me, but she isn't. Or why doesn't she go and ask Skip anything. It's always me...and he's the softy. He would probably allow her to come sleep with us (which is pure misery in a queen bed)

: for the single digit dance.

:dance3:

Yay for single digits! I got my luggage tags today, the 3-D effect is so cool!

It's getting closer me, but not as close as you!

I got some of those too.

:: for the single digits!! I'm excited for you!

It was a great day.
I'm glad she made it. It was nice memories for both of us.
I'm not sure I'll got to 1900 PF breakfast again too. I have so many other places to try yet on my list. It was good, but we don't usually do a lot of breakfasts while on the dining plan. We get more bang for our buck with lunch and dinners.

Yay for single digits!!! :woohoo:QUOTE]

Yahoo! :cheer2:

Yay for single digits!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the Facebook info - I got in on one of the last shares on the Dis for our last trip and it worked great!

I'm glad to give it to you. I did one of the last shares too before it was elminated. I think it was eliminated right after I got back, but of course all exisitng sharesthat had been started could be completed. I think it's the best deal for us. Especially this past trip where we only had 2 days at the parks.

The Mad Hatter made it to our table. I have heard how fun he can be, but he wasn’t. I don’t know if it was because we had such a late ADR and he was tired or if he just wasn’t into tricks today, but he was rather boring.

madhattersigning.jpg

Claire was a little intimidated by the Mad Hatter. At first she had said she wouldn’t want a picture with him or perhaps only one with someone else in the picture with her. I was surprised because she had gone to the Wonderland Tea Party last trip and just LOVED the Mad Hatter then. She did eventually warm up to him and we got the best smiles out of for these pictures.

After the characters rolled through I finally made an effort to eat. I had only gotten a little bit at this point and time, though Mom and Dad were pretty much finished. I got more watermelon for Claire and I dove into what I wanted.
While up at the buffet I ran into the Mom of the other Mary Poppins. I told her how cute the dress was and asked if she made it. She had a friend make it for her. She then went on to tell me about how “some lady” also sells them on ebay for over $300. LOL! I told her I knew “that” lady (momrtk aka Janet) and she does an excellent job.
I finished up eating and the characters all came around one more time. The place was emptying out now. We said hi to them and Claire talked a bit, but I didn’t pull the camera back out for more pictures.
It took awhile to settle our bill. Mostly because out waitress kept disappearing. At one point I had actually asked another waitress for ketchup, because we couldn’t find ours.
I have to say I left her a very minimal tip, but more than she deserved.

We then set off. I wanted to take some pictures of Claire outside. I wasn’t sure how the mood would be, (she can be iffy about getting posed pictures) but she did let me!

We told her to pretend she was flying like Mary.

flyingmary.jpg

I tried to get her to pose with the nice CM who had commented on her beauty on the way in, but she refused to.
We took her over to the cars and carriages to have pictures too. We got a lot of not so nice faces. Also it seemed to be the same idea for others and we had a hard time getting shots without someone else in the background. I would try to be courteous of their shots, but they didn’t always repay the favor.

I wish she had a better smile in this one and then it would’ve turned out pretty good.

Dad had been walking around a bit and quickly came over excited. He said he had found a Mary Topiary (which I knew about) and Claire MUST have her picture taken in front of it!

I think I took like 10 pictures here, but the light was awful…too bright, and Claire had awful faces. And then for some reason just about every picture either cut something off or was tilted one way or the other. LOL!

Claire was done with photos at this point and time so we made the LONG hike back to the car. I did take time to stop and smell the roses though!

One last look back as we make our way to the car.

lastlookatgf.jpg

I could tell this was going to be a long day already. My body was NOT holding up well. I was so sore from all the walking. The worst was the bottom of my feet. I walk hard and ruin shoes all the time, I also get blisters easily and have wide feet. Luckily I didn’t get blisters this trip, but it felt like the bottoms of my feet were bruised. I did a stupid thing too. I rotated shoes that day and wore more of a sandal shoe type thing. They have no cushion in then and later in the day I was regretting this.

We got loaded into the car and made our way over to Residence Inn to check in. Our plan was to check in fast and head straight over to Sea World. Didn’t quite work out that way though.

Thanks. I owe it all to you. You got me obsessed with the Mary dress a few years ago. And you are famous. In my next update you get a mention...not by me, but by the other "Mary Poppins" mom.

LOL! I just read your post. Many thanks for having my back. Apparently she wasn't one of my customers.......

Tell me you have her daughter's costume photo somewhere???????? I better go scour the background of your photos again......

I'm dying to get going on Katie's for this trip. But it all depends on whether the right fabric shows up in the store. At least we finally conquered the shoe issue by making white spats. However, we bought back to school shoes yesterday and her feet have taken a HUGE growths spurt. So my guess is that she'd finally fit a pair of adult boots, which are far easier to find than the child size ones. Hmm........ got some surfing to do! :surfweb:
