A Hop, NO Skip, and Many Mishaps to a Disney Dream!

WHEW! All caught up. WOW!!! What an amazing trip! Even though you say there has been mishaps...it seems like for the most part you are having a good time. I guess... you do have to look past things like a woman taking YOUR plate off of YOUR tray. (who does something like that :confused3)

I can't get over how nice all your pictures are. I think I need to a. get a better camera and b. learn how to actually use a camera. :rotfl: BTW, eek...sorry about the lost card..but at least you didn't also lose the one at the show that your mom found.

I love all the notes and gifts you leave for Claire. She is a lucky little girl. I try to remember to do little touches, but I always feel like I fall short in doing so.

Can't wait to read more :goodvibes

I've read your entire post and just had to tell you I've loved it and look forward to each installment.

Your daughter is such a little cutie and it makes me look forward taking my own little cuties in 2013!

Keep up the good work!!!

Thanks for the info on Captain Jack! The guy doing that role was the spitting image of Johnny Depp! DH was joking that JD probably didn't realize that when he signed his contract for the movie that he was obligated to work the MK! ;)

:rotfl2:

Happy belated birthday to Paige! You're right, she is lovely & she looks like you :thumbsup2

Thanks

Yes, we made the best of the down times as we could for the most part.

You forgot option c.

Take a boat load of pictures, there is bound to be some good ones in there somewhere. I took my girls to a couple of parks on Easter Sunday and took over 100 pictures. Of those, about 4-5 were really good ones I wanted to use. I think I took 4 or 5 of each pose just to guard against blinks, non-smiles, look aways, silly arguements etc...

My kids don't pose near as well as some peoples kids:rolleyes1.

Believe me, Claire doesn't always pose nicely either. I took some pictures before her dance rectial last weekedn and the faces she made are just awful in most of them. And she never wants to actually look at the camera.

We got showered and ready for the nights show. We also did our packing as it was our last night. I went to start a load of laundry. We wanted some things to wear again later in the trip. I found the machines very confusing. They are small front loaders. I don’t have a front loader myself, so it took me a bit to figure out what to do. I swiped my card for payment ($2) and it did nothing, so I swiped again and that time I was able to get it to work. I later found out I was charged for both swipes, but I never had it adjusted. I didn’t want to wait in line for $2.

I think at this time, Claire and Mom also finished up the 2nd Detective Agency Mission. Something that Claire was NOT going to forget about.
Claire and I went up on deck to get a drink. At first I was just going to get a lemonade, but then I decided to go for it and get a Frozen Mango Margarita. It was really good, so I ordered one for Mom as well. We also decided to get a virgin Raspberry/Strawberry daiquiri for Claire. We got them all in souvenir cups. I think with an extra tip added (the guy was really helpful and nice) the bill came to almost $40 for 3 drinks!!!
Claire and I took the drinks back to the room and sipped on them while finishing up packing and getting ready for the show.
I also moved the laundry to the dryer at some point and time, and Mom had checked it once and added another cycle as one didn’t quite dry them fully. She said she had the same problem and had to swipe twice as well.
Here is another reason I didn’t care for our room steward. We had been left 1 customs form, but we needed 2 since we were two different families, so at some point and time we had to go down and get another one, which actually turned into 2 times because I misplaced the one Mom went and got…only to find it later on. LOL!
Before we knew it, it was time to go to the show.

We again sat in the Balcony, in the same area we had for the two previous shows. Tonight’s show was called Believe.

It was a nice show, but again, I still liked Golden Mickeys better.

The guy who played Genie also was the same guy who had played Hades the night before. He was pretty funny again in this role.

As you can imagine, the Mary Poppins portion was one of my favorites!

This picture is awful, but it was so cool how the chimney sweeps came out of the chimney.

OK, I feel a little better now. That is the best thing about digital cameras is I can take as many pictures as I want, and just delete the bad ones. Of course this leads to me taking 50+ pictures in about 10 minutes. That burst mode sure does take alot of pictures.

Your show pictures are fabulous! I've had my DSLR for something like 2+ years now and I still don't know how to use it :sad2:

:rotfl: Yes, my dh likes option c. Before digital cameras... you should have seen the stack of photos we would get back from developing film. I think when we got the digital camera, the cost was covered by the savings we had from developing non usable photos.I remember once sitting attempting to scrapbook an event and looking at a picture and mentioning to the gals around me "what is this even of" :rotfl:

That show looks great. It makes me miss the show in DL. I love Genie! I don't even know if they still play that show. It still is my favorite of all the Disney shows I have seen. (Finding Nemo the musical in WDW is a close second)

Yikes on the cost of the drinks! I know that even drinks in WDW are spendy though... I just haven't partook of them. Next trip I plan to! Maybe I should budget some more funds for them. :scratchin

Well, I'm back with a virus free laptop!:yay: It's taken me quite a while to catch up with everyone, but I did:surfweb:

Looks like Claire had fun with her tube, I don't know about Claire, but Kadence will put her mouth on things and I'm always yelling at her to stop. Last week end she was hanging on a grocery cart and she had her chin on it. Next thing I saw was her putting her lips on it. WHY:confused3

Your pictures of the show are really good. They only thing I kept thinking of was that Genie looked funny next to Mary Poppins. What is the theme of the show?

p.s. I see hardingk made her way over, she has her Dream trip coming up and I told her your TR was awesome.

Yes, those burst moceds can take way more pictures than ever neeeded. LOL!

Thanks. I have practice for several years, but still get a lot of bad shots.

I think it's still playing there. I have heard it's one of Disney best shows ever.

YAY!
Well Claire once licked the pole on a Disney bus...and the ngot sick...so I try to watch otu too. Why does it look tasty?
Believe was about a father who was to obusy working and the Genie shows him magic exists and to not lose time with her.

Skip just left for Tomah, WI about an hour ago or so. I decided not to go, though I am now wishing I did. Claire has art camp yer tommorow and I also had promised my friend I would watch her DD after Camp till she got home from work. So I kept responsible and didn't bale. But Claire is upset. She said she would gladly give up art camp to go and has been doing a lot of crying today. We wil lbe going to a local Tractori pull in 2 weeks, but that isn't good enough for her. She missed her daddy. I told her he will be gone less time than we were when we went on the cruise and now she is acting like she might NOT have had fun then :rolleyes1 ....yeah right.

No PTR for me. I will probably do a TR though!

I wanted to ask you how you made those cute notes with the gifts for Claire?

Packing to go already??????????? NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bet it actually felt worse for you in reality than it does for me in your trip report.....

That show looks like a lot of fun. Like you, I was drawn immediately to the Mary Poppins photos. I'm still waiting for the traveling company to come through town so I can see it. But I have mixed feelings about the Disney stage shows. When I see a beautiful show, I want to photograph it, and the theatrical productions don't allow it. I know, I know....... do the cruise. But I don't see that happening. One of the reasons I love the parks is that you can photograph almost anything, even the shows.

The photos also reminded me of the DL Aladdin. It's an awesome show and we've seen it twice. BOTH times they didn't fly the magic carpet. Guess I'll have to go back...... Last year they actually announced a date to close it and replace it with a Toy Story Musical. Yuck. Sorry Toy Story lovers..... that just didn't grab me. Then at some point they announced a delay in the changeover, but never heard if it was completely scrapped.

CC looked like a lot of fun. I'm so glad I got to live it through you. And look....... no sand in my shoes!

I found them on dis here. Most under the cruise magnet threads or some under the t-shirt threads.I just added the words to them.
here is a link to one persons stuff that I like, but there are several I used from others too.

It only took me almost 3 months to get 4 days written! LOL! I wish the cruise lasted that long. I hated packing, it seemed like we had just gotten there. But at least we still had 3 more days of fun. I think I liked that we still had more to look forward too.
I think I did hear that Aladdin was to be closed too, but then never heard anything after that.

Aww, too bad, I would have drove over, since the country USA festival in Oshkosh we had planned on going to is an epic fail! Think shin deep mud, parking all over creation, 4 straight days of rain and extra charges! UGH.

Skip says that Tomah is bad too. he has been talking to a few of the guys already there and they aren't allowed to pull the trucks into the pits yet. They have them parked at a school and some other lot and hoping maybe tomorrow to get them in. Skip and 4 other guys went and they were just planning to sleep in tents or on the trailer floor (with air matresses). He just called me 1/2 hour ago and told me to find the number of the small little hotel we stayed in a few years ago. It was a dive, but it was clean and did the job...so I gave it to him and they are going to sleep there tonight (still have about 2 more hours of driving) and then see how it is at the pulls and may stay there the whole time.

Thanks for the photos of the show! I cannot wait to see it myself, I just love their shows.
You have some pretty shots there - guess we need to try the balcony ourselves too! :thumbsup2

We are down to 50 days today! :woohoo: :dance3:
