A Honeymoon trip to conquer the World! A PTR...

Welcome! :cheer2:

I actually subbed to your dining review report right after I joined the boards here, because you had ADRs at many of the same places that we've chosen, and found your TR very recently (but, the link in your siggy doesn't work, at least not for me :confused3 ). I think I might've posted there, but maybe not. I'll go check now.

I saw you joined in on my trippie - sorry the link didn't work - it's now fixed :goodvibes

Did you pick up the car? What kind did you get? :yay:

Yes, we picked it up Thursday night  ... no pictures yet, my parents are in town for Easter & we've been very busy, introducing them to DF's family for the first time... :scared:

Anyway, the car is a 2008 Honda Civic EX in Royal Blue. I'll get some pics today before we drive over to the hotel to pick up my parents for Easter lunch at FMIL's, and post them when I get home later tonight.

Woo-Hoo! We finally managed to confirm our honeymoon photo shoot! So at 10am on Friday, Aug. 1, we'll be having professional photos taken in/around a Disney park!!!! If only it didn't take weeks to get it all set up, I'd be even happier.

On a non-honeymoon related update... my parents met DF's family for the first time this weekend, and it went pretty well. *AND* my parents figured out a way to save us over $2000 in moving expenses for when we move to TX this summer, which is also worthy of  !!!

Congrats on the new car!

I'm glad you finally got your reservations for the Honeymoon photoshoot set up. I have a few questions about it. I have heard of doing that before and it sounds really nice, but who do you contact about making reservations? and what are the options for it? and were you told any prices for it? Thanks for the help!

:welcome:

To set up the honeymoon photo session (or a family portrait session), you contact Disney Photographic Services at (407) 827-5099. The cost is ~$300 (there's a discount if you're a DVC member) and includes a one-hour photo shoot at the park or resort of your choice, and 20 prints (their choice) in an album. In addition, all proofs are uploaded online so you can order additional pictures if you want, and you can purchase a CD of the high-res images for, I believe, an additional $300. Others who have done this posted once that you also get a printed proof of all images, but I haven't seen that in print anywhere from Disney, so I'm not positive about that. Let me know if you have other questions, I might have the answers. :)

Just popping in to say hello and that I'm enjoying your planning so far! Congrats on your upcoming wedding and I hope the "stress-wrinkles" of life smooth themselves out.

If not, just use this mantra, "DisneyDisneyDisney, NowNowNow."

Looking forward to more. :goodvibes

:welcome: and thanks for the mantra... I'll be putting it to good use in a few minutes, when I'm inundated with 11th graders again... :rotfl:

What a super wonderful place for a Honeymoon! I went and looked at your dress and it is absolutely beautiful! I can't wait to hear all about it... and as a mother of a 10th grader... I want to say thank you for choosing to be a teacher... Not the easiest job in the world and certainly not paid as high as you should for teaching our tomorrow!

:welcome: to my pre-trippie! And thanks for the congrats!

Not much new to report right now. I downloaded a planning program that was recommended somewhere on the DIS called Mouse Manager, and spent a good chunk of the day today entering in confirmation numbers and trying to work out more details for our days at WDW... and got nowhere. :rotfl:

Its just that time of the school year where I can't focus on anything, which apparently includes work, wedding planning, honeymoon planning, and even WDW! I need a vacation!

Ok, ok, I finally stopped being so lazy, and (after running the new car through the car wash this afternoon) went outside and took a few pictures of our new Honda Civic! It's actually royal blue, but looks darker in these pictures b/c we were in the shade. :)

First, two views looking head on:

Another post coming soon...

So, since my bridal shower is in just over 3 weeks, I've been stalking our registries online. We've also got some job interviews scheduled for the same week, so we decided that we should buy one of the pieces of luggage we'd registered for (the garment bag) to transport our suits, etc. I decided to registry-stalk to see what the price of the luggage was, and realized the set was on clearance, and some pieces were now unavailable. :(

As a result, we had to take a field trip today to pick out new luggage for the registry (because, you know, we need new luggage for a trip to Disney. And we ended up buying two new pieces of check-able luggage:

A 29" upright

I even already had a carry-on size upright (21" or 22" I think) in this same color, made by the same company! So really, we don't need to add luggage to the registry at all now... so I deleted that whole section when we got home.

Oh yeah, and yesterday we spent quite a while at some outlet stores near us, and we both bought new suits (for interviews, of course)... AND we got DF a lavender polo that matches the dress I posted back on pg. 1 for our couples shower/honeymoon photo shoot, and a green (not lime, but close) polo for our engagement photo shoot coming up in about a month.

::sigh::

I want a new Civic. (But, shhh, don't tell my current Civic. She's pretty jealous.)

::sigh::

I want new luggage too.

For now I'll live vicariously through your purchases. :goodvibes

I won't tell. For weeks, as we discussed trading in my Accord Coupe for the Civic, I wouldn't let DF talk about it in the car, so the Accord wouldn't get jealous or upset.

I buy new luggage at least once a year. One of these years, I'll stop doing that... maybe... :rotfl:

Could you bottle some of that new car smell and send it my way?
That has to be my favorite scent (aside from new book smell of course).

Love the luggage! I always say I'll buy a color other than black, but then I never do...:sad2: Blue would be so much easier to spot in the airport.

I wonder if I can make any money bottling new car smell??? It could help pay for the wedding/Disneymoon.... of course, since it was your idea, you'd get the first bottle for free. ;)

We'd registered for some really cool, coppery-orange luggage, but since its being discontinued, we went with the blue... precisely for ease of location at airport baggage claim... :)

I once saw someone with hot pink leopard print luggage.

I was instantly jealous.

I don't believe DF loves me enough to allow me to purchase hot pink leopard print luggage, unless his clothes & belongings are not ever to be anywhere near them... ya know, like in the same city.... :rotfl:

I should really do something actually trip-related... like go to HD for some MH's... maybe I'll do that tonight....

Don't disown me for admitting this, but I actually (gasp) threw out! some MH's not long ago, before I first found the DIS. I'd taken them, trying to find paint to match the bridesmaid dresses, and when cleaning up the living room, tossed them out b/c I didn't think I had any use for them anymore. :( And now I need to go liberate more of them.
