Holiday, Florida-AP -- An elderly golfer is o-k after getting mired in an alligator-infested swamp overnight.
The 89-year-old is a frequent golfer at the Forest Hills Golf and Country Club in Holiday, Florida.
He set out with a driver and ball retriever on Saturday, hoping to round up some lost balls. But before long, he became lost in the swampy high grass near the sixth hole.
He couldn't pull his feet out of the muck -- so, he says, he went to sleep.
He stayed in the swamp all night. On Sunday, his friends at church missed him and began searching.
Searchers finally found him Sunday evening, about 200 yards from the sixth hole, waving his driver.
Officials say he's fine.
