A Guide to Going to Disney on Your Birthday!

We are surprising my ODD for her 6th birthday with this coming up trip. I can't wait! I think I might go find some shirts for us. I wasn't planning on it but it sounds like it brings a lot of fun and magic.

Wow!! Thanks for all of the terrific tips!! My DD (15) and I will be spending our October birthdays at Disney this year! Your ideas will make our trip even more special. Thank you so much!

We celebrated our b-days there in 07!!!! We both rec'd cards with balloons! It was fun! Also, a dessert on our b-day. DS a cupcke at OHanna and an ice cream sundae at Rainforest for mine!:goodvibes

What ever happens, happens! No worries! We have wanted to stay at the WL for a while now!!!!!!! Thats special in it self!;) Also staying an extra 3 nights at the POP!!!! This will be our longest visit!!!!!:)

We will be celebrating my sons 16th birthday at Old Key West in October. Does anyone know if Disney decorates villas at OKW for birthdays? If so, do I arrange that thru the main Disney phone number? Thanks!

I'll be celebrating my 55th birthday at WDW this month !!!!

We're celebrating my 1 year old Birthday on December 24th in Disney World. What restaurant should I book? Since its Christmas eve.. and we'll be there for Christmas day as well.

I'm celebrating my 21st birthday at Disney World in May! Very excited! I have dinner planned, but I don't know what else I should do. D:

I'm going to Disney for my 20th birthday this summer! Does anyone know if you can get cakes delivered to the Downtown Disney hotels or if there is anywhere nearby to get one? :goodvibes

Do they still offer Birthday Fastpasses?

I know the 'Free day on your Birthday' ended a year or so back but I was wondering if they still have the Fastpasses for your birthday.

We were just there this past weekend for my DD 8th birthday....actually spent her real birthday in the Magic Kingdom on Friday the 25th....she received numerous HAPPY BIRTHDAY'S (free button) but that was it. They forgot her cupcake at the Plaza restaurant....brought it out after her dessert that came with kids meal arrived and only because I said as the waitress gave her the ice cream "Happy Birthday Baby". She then apologized and brought out the cupcake....said the "singer had left" and then very quietly sang Happy Bday to her. NO big deal we had a great day!!

There were no cards, no decorated rooms (stayed at 2 different hotels on Disney Property) nor balloons but there was a very cute message from Mickey and Minnie singing Happy Bday on our phone in the room.

I think Disney has cut way back on all the "extras"....when we took my oldest DD 13 for her 8th birthday there was definitely more "magic". All in all this quick, surprise birthday weekend was very special for her but not because Disney rolled out a red carpet. Please do not flame me....I just don't want people expecting something great and then be disappointed if it doesn't happen. She was just HAPPY to be at Disney on her Birthday.

The best part was on Saturday I arranged for some of my family to "surprise" her over at Epcot. She had no idea they were coming and she was blown away when we got off the Ball and her cousin (4) came running to hug her screaming "SURPRISE"!! That was priceless and worth the whole trip!!

Happy Birthday to EVERYONE!! :)

:rotfl:
WOW!!!

I was trying to keep my DH out of Dis on his 40th bday!! Didn't know they did all that...Dates have changed now...Thanks for the tips!

I'm so happy to hear they hand out the pins at all the parks.:cool1: My bday is on Thanksgiving Day this year and I didn't want to brave the crowds at MK, just to get the pin. BUt..... I would have done it, if necessary.

:worship: Thanks for all the other trips. As a single mom I don't get something special for my birthday that often. There just isn't anyone to plan it. This way, I can do it for myself without all the work. I'm definitely doing the t-shirts for my DD and I.

Now I'm even more excited about our trip.:cheer2:

I hear you...while I am not a single mom sometimes I feel like it lol...hubby has been out of the country for 2 bdays...last year he was just out of town working and even when he is around...well he is not a planner and not a gift giver...I have had some horrible bdays...almost got fired on one bday (so glad I finally left that horrible boss)...but I finally decided to just plan something big for my bday.

We are going in Jan to celebrate my 34th bday. We have a reservation for Ohana and I am thinking about ordering myself a cake :) not sure yet...but if will surely be my day...cant wait.

Thank you so much for the B-Day Info! I will be in the World on my Birthday during the next trip.

This has been my experience as well. We were celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary and my DS's 9th birthday last spring. Not one birthday cupcake at any restaurant. And I kept making sure I mentioned his birthday hoping to at least get Happy Birthday sung to him. Only whispering canyon had any singing.

Earlier this month I celebrated my 40th at WDW. I got a plate with 'happy Birthday" written in caramel at one restaurant. Liberty Tree did put streamers on our table but no singing or cupcakes or anything.

We are going back for our 15th wedding anniversary and my DS's 10th. When I made my ADR's I was asked - "are you celebrating anything" and I felt like saying why bother asking?

The best treats I've found are at Boma - a little tray of about 6 small luscious confections. Better than the cupcakes, but I'll take those too.

Woohoo!:woohoo: just found this thread! Great info!:thumbsup2. We're planning on taking our youngest DD to WDW for her birthday! I'm thinking that I will have a T-shirt made for her now! Thanks for the advice!:thumbsup2

I thought that I would update with a more recent experience, since this thread is pretty old.

I took my DD for her 12th birthday last July. I had noted that it was her birthday on our reservation, as well as one of our dining reservations.

She was given a birthday pin at check in which she wore all weekend. There was also a signed picture from Mickey and the gang in our room when we arrived.

We did lunch at 50sPT and she was given a cupcake and the waiter made a big fuss over her "he told the whole room that it was her 30th birthday, and didn't she look great!" :rotfl:

She got lots of birthday wishes from CM's and other guests.

My mom also ordered her a birthday in-room celebration from the Disney Florist which was great. A 20" stuffed Minnie and a bunch of chocolates made to look like a cake.

I am going to be there for my 40th in a few weeks. I can't wait! I'm hoping that being at the Happiest Place on Earth will take the sting out of that big number! :lmao:

I'm heading to WDW in October for my 40th this year with my DD and BFF. Sounded like a good excuse to have a girl's trip to me! :cheer2: I'll be wearing my button with pride but I'll refuse to wear the "40" button my friend is sure to bring along! :rotfl:

I'm going with my BFF too, girl's only trip! We tried to do a 35th birthday trip, but I had a really bad skiing accident a few weeks before. We still went on the trip, but it was a disaster and we left after the first night. :sad2: So, this one is our do-over!

No "40" buttons for me either! :rotfl:

I just found out that our plans have been changed and that we are now celebrating my birthday at WDW next year :cheer2:
