My family relocated to Orlando a year ago. My brother (greenberet) is pursuing a career as a Youth minister and had made a friend years ago on a trip to Orlando. When they moved down there, this Youth Minister and friend became a mentor and my brother joined the church. Kevin Jordan also happened to be an Imagineer at WDW with a 25 year tenure. It was marvelous to tour the parks with him. You got more than the inside scoop. You heard about all the things that never were built....all the concepts that proved to be too costly. Kevin reported to work at any new attraction in the works, too.
My brother called me last weekend to tell me about a church camping trip, where he'd encountered a bear. Jay was pretty shocked, but Kevin said it was common. They worked together at many church functions and Kevin's leadership has been invaluable to my brother.
Jay called me a few days ago to tell me that Kevin died suddenly of a heart attack at the age of 44.
I don't share this with you for any requests, but I think we should all give a little thanks for what Kevin has given to us over the years through his work at WDW. We have all been touched by his work. He was a remarkable family man who gave so much to his Faith, but he also shared his creative vision with the world. I am grateful for all he has done for my brother, my family and every life he has touched along the way.
