My FIL is doing well so far. He should be able to go home Sun or Mon. They aren't going to do chemo or radiation, just watching him closely. Brian is going down again this morning to be with him.

My eyes are very droopy today; they landed at midnight and he got home around 2 a.m. after they picked up car, dropped Nicole off and then drove Kevon home. I tell him it is the rich man's sport (luckily, he works part-time at a golf course so he gets a "deal" when he golfs.



Yep, happened with us last year--and they finally brought in a new plane. I would have been on Amtrak otherwise.

Good news re FIL! Please keep us posted.

I can't imagine willingly getting up and going golfing after that.....you had no choice, you had to work, but I can't imagine CHOOSING to get up to golf that early. Boys and their "toys"...

I was so happy to see my girls! I loved having some time alone and with the dh, but I MISSED them.

I'm sure you really missed them...DS will be spending 2 weeks with my parents, and I know I'll be counting the days till h e comes home, as soon as he gets on the plane.

What time did they finally get in? Glad for all tomorrow begins the weekend - and selfishly, it means we have a better chance of a mini TR all about that "other" resort.

You could probably stay a couple days longer with the money saved by driving. How long of a drive is it from PA? I know you are about 7 1/2 hours once you reach Fayetteville in NC.

For us, it's more of a time factor...we are going for 3 nts/4 days because we don't want to take the kids out of school for more than 2 days, and Brian won't go in the summer.It would take about 20 hrs to drive...which would most likely mean an overnight stop each way, so flying actually ends up making sense when you add in the extra hotel and food costs.


I saw that earlier, and was thinking that you looked awfully young for 49! I know... I'm a dork!

The plane landed at midnight; I'm assuming he got home a little before 2 a.m. by the time they picked up the car; dropped off Nicole and then drove Kevon home and then came home. I sent him a text message and told him to kiss me when he got home...not sure if he did or not...I never heard him come in. Am I a bad mom for sleeping?

So glad you checked in! Now we know all our travelers are safe and sound.

I know just what you mean about missing the munchkins. When mine were little my parents would take them to Chicago (they did a great road trip with them) - I would cry my eyes out as they pulled away. After about 2 days I would feel good, begin to enjoy my alone time..then about 7th day I'd miss them like crazy and the tears would flow again. THEN I'd feel guilty for sending - even though I knew they were having a ball.

Mothers - gotta love 'em.

Enjoy those FL Palm Trees for me, please!

Yay! You made it! My kidlet just got back from her grandparents... she's currently trying to find someone to go play with. Yeah, I was missed. NOT!

You may want to think twice about hanging with this crazy bunch o coconuts!! We're nuts!

We check into Comfort Inn, and then go to DTD for dinner and shopping. Sometimes to a resort for fireworks, then to swim at the hotel before bed. Sun am we check into our resort around 9am, drop off our luggage, and go to a character breakfast before hitting the parks! Cost of driving and hotel is about $200. verses plane tickets at $275 each round trip.

I'll invite you...I just click on people once my friends add them...it's easier that way.
You can also just type their name into the search at the top, but if someone doesn't have a picture, I get nervous that it's not the same person.
