I think it strange that only 2 of us on this thread have gotten the letters. Anyone else gotten one?

KB24- are you currently booked in CL? Just wondering if that has something to do with who gets it and who doesn't. Strange.

I received the same letter yesterday - and we are staying CL in September. I called with questions about the renovations a few weeks ago and the CM said we would be getting a letter.

I did get the letter today, even though I have already switched us to the Poly for October. I'd say Disney is just a bit delayed in sending them.

We got the letter yesterday.... I thought it was a pin code since I don't know how they come and got all excited for nothing lol... Just a letter about the refurbs going on during our trip. They did say courtyard pool (which we all knew) but they are saying late December. I thought with us arriving Dec 7 that we would luck out and it would be done before that because I saw on a Disney type blog late November. Hoping they finish it before they think they will

Also some of our guests (my parents) for the wedding that are also staying at the GF got letters yesterday too.

am i the only one who got a good chuckle out of reading that letter? they phrased it so well... i am so naive sometimes... if i had received such a letter, i would have been so excited about the upcoming changes that i probably would have not even realized that they were sugar-coating the eyesores and inconveniences! very good PR!

Basically the options become:

1) Roll the dice and put in a request not to be on the construction side of sugar loaf

2) Keep looking for upgraded king rooms during our stay dates in RPC

3) Change stay dates when AP discounts come out

4) Change resorts to another resort

God this sucks.

We too had been booked in SL and I also got the letter even though we had switched to the YC last week. We were very lucky that we switched before FD came out because now the Epcot resorts are all full for the dates we are there (October).

I hope all who are feeling uneasy about their upcoming trips can resolve their problems one way or another. I know we are so disappointed to have made the change but at least we know next year we will be back to the Grand in all her glory (any probably every trip after that!!!)

I'm booked CL (Sugarloaf) for October and I haven't received a letter.

I got a letter regarding my Dec trip in the mail yesterday as well.

In an ongoing effort to improve the quality of our facilities and offerings, please pardon our appearance during your upcoming visit. While the following locations are being refurbished for your future enjoyment, we have arranged for alternate options in order to ensure that you have a truly grand experience.

Our Courtyard Pool will be undergoing some exciting changes, including a new zero- entry slope, and is scheduled to reopen late December of this year. The Beach Pool and slide will remain open for your relaxation and enjoyment.

We are pleased to announce that beginning in late August, the newly enhanced Beach Pool Bar will debut with a grill and extended quick-service offerings. Soon after, Gasparilla Grill and Games, our quick service restaurant and arcade, will be renovated to include additional seating. We got our letter Friday. Our stay at Gflo is not until last week of October.

We are still going going and can't wait. We love our Gflo no matter what.

We got our letter yesterday. We are booked for a December trip. We were a bounceback, so booked directly through Disney. We are plain old garden view, not CL. I had not been paying attention to this thread, so I was completely unprepared for the storm cloud it set loose on my family, which is more about CS being closed than the pool. We are resort CS pre-park breakfast people, and DH likes a late night snack and drink when we get back from the parks. DH wants to change resorts or even cancel if there aren't any rooms at the Poly available at our bounceback rate, and DD (6) does not, so that has been a 24 hour "debate" at our house now. After nosing around the internet, it looks like the date for CS to be reopened is likely just a few days before Christmas. UGH.

We got our letter yesterday. We are staying CL in mid December booked on a bounce back rate. We are not going to change resorts though. The Grand is still the Grand even with a little construction. Nothing can beat seeing the Christmas tree everyday!!!!!

Does anyone have any clue about what the "extended" Pool Bar and Lounge Hours are going to be while Gasparilla's is closed? Any rumors about what the CS breakfast offerings, if any, will be? How about a place for morning coffee? The coffee pots in the room don't cut it for DH. He has a thing about "Disney" coffee. I know some people complain it is bad, but he says something about the taste of the coffee at CS, he just associates with happy Disney trips.

Interesting who is getting the letter and who is not. I've yet to hear of anyone going within the next few weeks who has gotten the letter, or am I missing someone? We still haven't gotten anything.

I haven't heard anything about specific CS offerings at the pool bar or Mizner's, sorry. For many of you, there should be plenty of info before you go, since the beach pool is slated to open end of August.
