A Grad and Her Guy Do Disney! 10/4 Booked our Honeymoon!!

Love the rainbow, the picture of your guy with the stormtrooper, and the happy face ketchup, but the best picture was you with the umbrella!

Great update! Kyle's Donald drawing turned out awesome. :thumbsup2

Hey Lauren!!!

I am here, I don't know how I missed it! Love the pictures!:goodvibes

What I wouldn't give for the timing you guys had a Hollywood Studios and Beaches and Cream! Great pictures and great start to your Disney trip!

Great update!! Your DF looked so excited in the picture with the Star Wars guy!

He was super excited! We worked hard to finally meet one of those darn characters. I forgot to mention that on our way out of DHS, a CM asked us to take a survey on what we thot of SWW, and one thing we def pointed out was how dang hard it is to meet the characters.

I'm glad you liked our happy face, for some reason I forgot about that until you mentioned it  I love that umbrella, it's all those cute little Disney touches that make me go back so often!

Great update! Kyle's Donald drawing turned out awesome. :thumbsup2

He did a really good job. The picture of mine came out crappy, but his Donald was better anways.

What I wouldn't give for the timing you guys had a Hollywood Studios and Beaches and Cream! Great pictures and great start to your Disney trip!

Thanks!! :) LOVED Beaches n Cream, so glad we went when we did! I forgot to add that we payed OOP for it because it was very affordable, only like 8 something for my burger I think.

Congrats on your Graduation!!!! I love your TR and can't wait to read more.:)

Thank you so much!! Thanks for reading :cutie:

Thanks!

*Spoiler*

If you think that was good you should see my Minnie drawing

:rotfl:

I'm tired just reading about everything you guys did! Great job on Donald Kyle. :thumbsup2 I really wish we'd gotten the chance to draw when we were there.

Glad you guys enjoyed Beaches and Cream - it's on my to do list. :goodvibes

Great update Lauren. Looks like you had an awesome first day at HS. We;; except for the bunny :rolleyes1 maybe. I have to bring Thomas back next year for SWW. He would love being in the park with all those characters walking around and the SW music playing. Beaches and cream looks great too. We haven't been there since 2003, but it's on my list now. Love the towel mickey you got at ASMo.

Great update and sounds like you got a lot done. To bad the lines were so long for autographs tho.

Hi Carissa!! I can't believe we crammed that much in after being up at 4am. And to think I wanted to do more!

Glad Beaches and Cream is on your list, it's worth it! We didn't have their ice cream this trip but that is awesome too. :lovestruc

Thanks Nichole! Thomas would def love SWW, all the little boys we saw just looked like they were in heaven! Sadly that was our only towel animal of the week :sad2:

Thanks! We still had a great day despite the lines :)

Finally on to the second day of the trip, June 7th, our first MK day! I always wake up a bit giddy the first morning in Disney, especially because it usually means our first day the place that will always be very nostalgic to me for many reasons. I've been going to Disney every year since I was 3 and MK was the only park I really liked as a kid. We spent practically our entire week there. Then, during trip this past Jan., DF proposed to me there on our first MK morning, in front of the castle. :bride:(See my other TR, link in siggy, to read all about it!) So we woke up bright and early around 7am to sort of reinact that day, just the two of us :)

We were very speedy at getting ready in the mornings. DF takes mere minutes to shower and dress, and I cut my hair short a year ago which definitely shortens the process! It only took us about half an hour, we were at the bus stop by 745 I believe. It was so nice to only have to worry about 2 people instead of 6-8 like usual when we go with my family!

We only waited 5-10 minutes for the bus. While we were on the way, we overheard a woman behind us telling her two young boys all about the park. She promised them that the Hall of Presidents would be there, and when they asked if Barack Obama was included now, she said "Oh yeah, they added him awhile ago." Huh? :confused3Then she was talking about how they could see the Buzz Lightyear Lazer show. Even Kyle, who was on his 4th trip I think and is considered the "newbie" in our family, was snickering a little. I wanted to turn around and correct her so that her and her kids wouldn't be all disappointed when they got there and neither of those things existed, but I didn't want to be a Disney snob!

We got to the park and headed to the line for people with Breakfast ADRs. I love getting to go in early for breakfast because the park is dead! That magical first few of the castle never fails to disappoint:

We still had about 45 mins until our 855 CP ressie so we took our time strolling around Main St. First, we went to City Hall and asked for an "I'm Celebrating" button. The very nice CM wrote graduation on it with sharpie. Alas, it brought me zero free desserts, but lots of kind words and compliments the whole week.

On our last trip I attempted to do this while Kyle was busy trying to lure me down to the Castle to pop the question! I was stopping for store windows, cute ducks I spotted, etc., while he was sweating bullets and trying to be romantic. Oops! Well since there was no rush this time (hee hee) I took my time and took in the sights on Main Street. And right away I found some ducks lying in the road! What a coincidence :rotfl:

Love those cute window displays:

I liked this one because that day, I was feeling like one VERY satisfied recent graduate ;):
100_0625.jpg

Of course I had to get a shot of the wedding window :lovestruc
100_0623.jpg

We stopped for a photopass photog. We didn't order the CD this time, we just asked the CM to take one with our camera too and they didn't ever seem to have a prob with that.

The clouds were really cool in this shot. It was shaping up to be a beautiful day
100_0630.jpg

We had to stop and visit the spot where DF proposed! It's "our spot" to us now. We took this gorgeous self-pic there :rotfl:

Here's me in front of my dream home. Think the place suits me??

Continued in next post...

At about 830 we had taken plenty of pics and decided to check in early to breakfast. They asked if we were celebrating anything, and I said my graduation from grad school. They told me congrats and what a great accomplishment that was, and two minutes later we seated, yay! There was confetti and streamers on our table, so cute! Gotta love the pixie dust.

If you read my PTR you know that we also ate at CP right after DF proposed, but neither of us could really eat because we were so excited! This was our redo, and we DEFINITELY ate plenty this time around. However, it took awhile to get any food, because our waiter took FOREVER to get to us. After awhile Kyle told me to just go up and get food and he would put in the drink order. Aww, what a guy! So I hop in the extremely long buffet line and am immediately accosted by another random chatty stranger. She was a very sweet girl, but she was a talker. It all started when she sneezed and I said bless you. For some reason this was taken as an invitation to tell me her life story, lol! I like talking to strangers in Disney, but she was an too much info kind of person. I noticed somewhere during our very random conversation (during which all I could think was I want food can this line move faster?!) that she had on a bday button, and when I said happy birthday she told me she felt so old because she was turning 18! I think she must have assumed I was her age, because it got akward when I was like "Oh, that is SO not old, I'm turning 24 this year"

I finally got my food and detached myself from the stranger (who followed me along the entire buffet line even though she had only gone up there for cheese, hmmm) and went back to send poor DF to brave the masses. The food was so worth the wait. MMM excellent. I went up twice but both times I only got breakfast pizza, a mickey waffle, puffed french toast, and the yummy potato casserole. What can I say, I love me some carbs!! :lmao:

Kyle's plate was a little more diverse.

100_0639.jpg

The purple stuff was called Pooh's breakfast lasagne. I forget what was in it though, it looked strange and he didn't eat much of it. The characters came around and we took some cute pics with them. Honestly we were more concerned with filling our bellies though so we didn't even get up, oops!

100_0636.jpg

So happy to see this cuddly bear :cloud9:

100_0638.jpg

Kyle was more interested in the food than the company, but he did have to jump in a pic with Eeyore since that is his other fav (besides Donald of course!)

100_0642.jpg

After we were supremely stuffed, we left and headed straight to the traditional first MK ride: Splash! We got our fill of it this trip because the last TWO times we went it was down for refurb the second half of our trip, which made me slightly cranky because it is my altime favorite. We cut through Adventureland. I noticed that it smells like peppers when you are walking in the bridge area, and Kyle said maybe they grow them to cook at Crystal Palace hahaha. On the way over to Splash, Kyle ran down and got us some Jungle Cruise FPs for later. He took his first ever ride on this in Jan. and liked it alot so we decided to do it again, but it is so not worth the long stanby wait time IMO.

We got to SM and there was only like a 10 minute wait still since the park had just opened not even half an hour ago.
Squinting in our log from that bright sunshine:

100_0643.jpg

We were blessedly missed by the water cannon, which made me quite happy since my hair was doing crazy things in the Florida humidity, it didn't need a soaking on top of it! We got seated in the last row of the log every single time this trip, weird but good because I like getting wet but not drenched.

Our badly rednecked photo:
100_0647.jpg

We survived the Briar Patch and decided to air dry with a ride on BTMRR. The wait was only 20 mins, not bad, we didn't get crazy dizzy from the winding cue! Love this one, I had a hard time taking it and that is pretty evident!

100_0649.jpg

This ride feels slower to me as I get older, but I still love it. After the wildest ride in the wilderness, I'm pretty sure we went back on Splash because we love it so much haha.

Uh oh get ready for the big one!
100_0644.jpg

After that we headed over to HM, which was a walk on. Kyle and I always make sure to head right to the exit of the stretching room and we were usually the first ones on. HM is another fav, so I stopped at the merchandise cart at the exit and got this really cute HM tshirt I saw on our last trip and regretted not picking up. (If and of you read Lynn's TR, she has it too haha) I decided I'd wear it on our last MK day.

We still had a little time before our JC pass was good, so we decided to see Philharmagic after getting some Peter Pan FPs. We walked in just as the theater doors opened! Woo hoo great timing again! This show is just so cute. My favorite part is the Aladdin clip, you kind feel like you are flying, at least I do. We poked around in the gift shop after, Kyle wanted to see if they had any new Donald shirts, but it was pretty much the same stuff as in Jan.

100_0651.jpg

As we walked back out into Fantasyland, Kyle told me that he had never ever ridden the carousel. That settled it, we were doing it right away!

100_0653.jpg

I think around this time it was heading into the afternoon. We weren't hungry for lunch because of the huge breakfast we'd had, so we decided to get a raspberry lemonade slush from Enchanted Grove with a snack credit because it was getting quite hot. Mmm those are so yummy and refreshing!

We took our treat and headed to Toontown Fair. I was on a mission to see Minnie's house. Anyone who chooses pink and purple as their main decorating theme is a girl after my own heart!

I waited a very long time and fought off many rude children to sit on this couch!

100_0654.jpg

Apparently Minnie gave the Fairies some diet advice. Wonder if she can help me drop some pre-wedding pounds :lmao:

100_0656.jpg

Kyle spotted some clever flowers. I could spend all day finding cute stuff in that place!

100_0658.jpg

Our FPs for Jungle Cruise were finally good now, so we cut behind the castle and into Adventureland. Our guide's name was Pat, she was pretty funny. When we were boarding, the CM seating everyone was looking for a party of two to fill the boat and Kyle told him that we were two, but I was busy taking pictures of the queue area and wasn't paying attention, so he was shouting for me to come get in the boat. We were the last ones in, and Pat said "Oh look, this family is so strong they are holding up the entire boat!" lol I told her I go to the gym ;)

Next it was time for Pirates! The line was surprisingly long for PC (about 20 minutes). I hate when everyone just goes single file and doesn't fill in the space, even though there is a CM standing there to do it. We snuck up into the open space as we were told and the wait was really only like 10 mins after that. We got the back of the boat all to ourselves. The CM seating us called it the captain's seat and told us no funny business! Lol

To round out the afternoon, we used our Peter Pan fastpasses. That quick flight over Neverland is just so charming. We'd already gotten so much done that we decided we were due for a rest since we'd be going back to MK that night. We shopped our way down Main Street and toward the exit to take the bus back to ASMo. There we took a quick nap and a swim in the Fantasia pool. It was amazingly refreshing- a much needed break!

That's all for now folks! Time for bed for me, but I'll be back to tell you all about the rest of our fun day at MK!

Up Next: A special monorail ride, back to MK for the evening, and attack of the killer bird!

You make me really really want to do a character breakfast again. I haven't done one since I was probably 8 years old, and I'm 24. ;)

Great update!

I've only read the first chapter so far, but I had to comment on something so I wouldn't forget it when I got all the way done!

I'm so glad you said that you packed clothes for 2 weeks because you never know what you'll be in the mood to wear! I do the same thing and DBF gets annoyed at me every time for packing too much. He doesn't understand that I even if I decide today what I want to wear next Monday, next Monday I just might not feel like wearing that! I am going to show him that it's not just me!! :rotfl:

Subbing. Y'all are too cute!

Ok, all caught up!

Great updates. It sounds like your trip started off great!

I wish you hadn't posted a picture of the Smores though! It caused a major craving!!

Would you recommend AS Movies? We're trying to decide where to stay in October and we both really liked Pop, but I kind of want to try out something new. Movies would be the choice.

I can't wait to read more!

I wanted to turn around and correct her so that her and her kids wouldn't be all disappointed when they got there and neither of those things existed, but I didn't want to be a Disney snob!

Once on a train on the way into London, my boyfriend and i heard the woman in the seat in front of us telling her kids to look out the window as we passed the Houses of Parliament. "Look, kids!" she exclaimed excitedly, "It's Notre Dame!"

Great update! Sounds like a wonderful day! i've never been on Splash Mountain - mostly because i don't want to get wet - but i think if the weather was hot enough i'd like to give it a try. Gotta love how everyone's "all time favourite" is so different!

So romantic that you got to go back to "your spot"
