Hubby Fred and I managed to get away for the day and so we decided to go to ... Guess where?? WDW of course.
We spent most of the day at DTD. We got the new Disney Club pin, and the soldier with Mickey pin. Nice!
We then got to the contemporary early, about 5:30. I began to reorganize my pins. I had so many that had never been put in my bags since the november cruise. Life has been so nuts.
Anyway, I met this really nice guy who sat down with me early on and he had some really nice pins. Especially mystery and cruise line. He told me about the mystery pin that came out and hubby left to see if he could get a couple. No luck, they were sold out. Anyway, the fella with the nice pins made a trade with me, and I was left to ponder another possible trade with him. Around 9PM I get a call from my sister that my mom had fallen at the nusing home. I was so upset and frantically making phone calls to see how bad it was, when the fella with the nice pins came back.
I think he could see I was distressed, but he asked if we managed to get the surprise pin. I told him they had sold out. He asked what was wrong, and I told him about mom, and that we were gonna go ahead and head back to Daytona, as I was pretty upset. He then reached into his pocket and "GAVE" me one of the surprise pins. I had already packed everything up and asked him what he wanted to trade for it. He said nothing it was gift, and he appreciated me giving him one of my Fantsy Pins. HOW NICE!! I almost cried.
I had been missing being around my pins friends and going to the pin meets. And last night just reminded me and confirmed how much joy this hobby has brought into my life.
Hubby said it was the Lord returning my good deed earlier in the day. We saw a family at DTD, and they had a little girl, who had just gotten her "first" lanyard. I talked to her a little bit about pin trading and asked who her favorite characters where. She said the princesses, and that Cinderella was her favorite. So I found two Cinderella pins and gave them to her. She beamed and it was wonderful.
It was a wonderful day. And I hope to have more real soon as mom gets back on her feet. She's 78 and anxious to go to Disney and do some pin trading. She likes the princesses to!!
Blessings to all,
Winnie
