I just received a huge postcard offering $149 a night at a DL hotel. Has anyone done this ? Is it really a bargain or not?

Hi Lou Ann,

That sounds like a great deal ! Does this card have a Pin or a code? What were the dates ? I called this morning as I wanted to book a night in March and the rate was $270 for a standard room. I THINK YOU SHOULD GRAB IT !

K:)

Those are the AP holder rates, if you got a PIN you should do it if you need it! :) I'd love to stay at the DLH for $149 a night! :)

Ooh - that is a good rate! I still only get WDW offers - dang it!

Do you think they will have rates like that in the summer? We are going in July and would love to stay at DLH.

Doubtful.

I just wish there was some way to pass on the PIN I got to a friend. It's killing me the price difference between what they are offering me and what she is able to get.

Disney is always very tricky with their wording. I was assuming that "a DL hotel" for $149 would end up being PPH only, and that DLH and GCH will be higher. Is that correct? That seems to be the way they rope people in. They show the lowest price for the cheapest hotel, even though they are offering other discounted rates for the other hotels. I think I recall my e-mail PIN offer had similar language - or one of the offers I got did. In any case, it is a good deal even for the PPH and you should take advantage of it if you can!

I agree with DangerMouse - I WISH I could pass off this offer I got to someone who could use it since I won't be able to, but there is no way. It's non-transferable. Such a waste. I know lots of folks from DIS get PIN offers that they can't use and those totally go to waste because they can't give them to anybody else.:sad2:

You can't make the ressie in your name and then change it to hers after the fact?

Sherry, I don't know.....my PP special was $139, the DLH was $149, that was with our PIN>

You got a better PIN than I did! Not all the PIN offers are the same, as I have discovered on DISboards, from what folks report. Sometimes they may even be a $10 difference. I remember that happened with the PIN that was floating around last summer. I just checked mine again and it is $149 for PPH, $169 for DLH and $229 for GCH, and the offer expires at the end of May. I don't know if anyone could make a ressie in their name with a PIN offer and then switch it to someone else's name, because doesn't the guest have to show the PIN offer (in someone else's name) and the credit card on file used to make payments, along with the Drivers License? In other words, somewhere along the line the names and numbers and info wouldn't match up on some document or other. It seems risky, and Disney seems to want to discourage it, which is unfortunate.

I dont think it's any special PIN, that offer ran in our local newspaper for anyone, 149.00 @ PP.......popcorn::

ooh! I have heard of those ads. I think Mouse Savers or someone mentions them and tells you when you call to check pricing to ask if they have any local ads. Hmm...now why don't I have that written down in my planning file?? Note to self, find that again!

I got a postcard with a pin for that same pricing. It was $149 for the DLH, PP was (I think) $139.

That is a very good deal! If it works for your dates, grab it ASAP!

Hmm, you're probably right. I didn't realize you had to show the PIN when you checked in. Since ours was an email I basically checked out dates and then saw they wouldn't be available at those rates and hit delete. :)

This is the rate we got too! I thought we weren't going to be able to afford the DH this year, so I made reservations at Candy Cane Inn. Not 10 minutes after I made them I got an email for the $149 offer at DH. I called a CM to check it out, and yep, those are the rates we got. So happy! And P.S. (off topic) PixieWings71, :wave2: I wanted to tell you I was just teasing when I replied to your suggestion about the AP's. awhile back. I was only being sarcastic because hubby would NEVER go for it. Thanks for suggesting it though! ::yes::

I didn't think DBF would go for it either but he did!!! And you know what, he's the one who wants to go every weekend! LOL :) If we lived closer we probably would.....anyway, have fun! I hope to "bump" into you when we are both there! :) I'll have my LGMH with me and my LGMH keychain hanging from my lanyard. :)

Yes, I agree. That's a great deal. Hopefully we can also get a PIN, I can't wait to go back again. ::yes::

Have a nice day everyone. :)
