to Tinkerbean for hosting Jennifer, bubba and I at her house today! Along with PBF and ZtH! It was a day filled with fun, friends, food and laughter!

The food was awesome! Thank you Mr. Morgansmommy for awesome meatballs. Thanks for ZtH and I's birthday cake. (white on white of course!;))
It was so yummy. The pastries in the am were oh so yummy. Love the pizza strips. Flash back to my high school days! the cheese and crackers were so great!
Thank you for opening your home to us and making us feel so welcome. Thanks for you help with my stuff. Thanks to Mr. Tinkerbean for tweaking my recipe so it would fit on my fancy journal box! Thanks ZtH for printing it out. Thanks Tinkerbean for my Cub scouts copy.
Thanks Jennifer for letting Bubba and I tag along! And for my roller skate and my birthday present and my goodies! You totally rock! I forgot to give you sponge bob back. So we will have to get together and have a coffee next week so i can give it to you.

I'd love to host the next one. We were talking about renting a place and getting the rest of the Boston girls and the CT girls together near Jennifer and I and making a pot luck sort of thing. I think it would be fun.

Thanks also for taking such great care of my boyfriend today. He had a BLAST. as he told me on the way home. And they took the BIG box of legos out as he was leaving. Why couldn't he stay?? he wants to know!

Again Rhonda and Family,
thank you so much. I'm not sure how i got so lucky to find such great friends in all of you but i did. And I appreciate each of you. Thanks for a great day.

And ZtH if you are reading this......Your eyes light up your whole face! you are a living doll. I was glad to meet you and your mom today!

I wish I was close enough to come.....:sad2:

Can you share the recipes so I can sit here one my own? :rotfl:

It was loads and loads of fun! I got a little tense on the way in (the tunnel is waaaaaaay longer than I remember and I always forget I have to go *through* Boston to get there), but I felt right at home with you all.

Z2H, so sorry for tripping on your stuff (and making you move so much so I could get out from behind the table - next time, I'll sit on the outside!). You are a lovely young woman, and it was a pleasure to scrap with you. (If you can call what I did scrapping!).

PBF, that baked Brie. OMG, to die for! I have to have the recipe, please. You have a beautiful family. It was so great to put a face with the screen name!

When you get over our way, let us know and we can meet you. The store in North Attleboro is near a Panera...We can shop and eat!

PO3, thank *you* for my goodies! I hope you enjoy your presents, I can't wait to see what you make with them. Sorry you got a ginger ale bath on the way home. Bubba is a great boy, he so makes me smile. Did your DH find me a hubcap?!

Absolutely no rush on the Spongebob cart, but if it's an excuse to hang with you, I'm happy to meet you this week.

Let's figure out a plan for the place in Bellingham. It'd be so much fun to get together as a group!

Mr. Tinker thanks for opening your house to us crazy women! It was so nice to meet you and your family and "hang" for the day.

TinkerBean, thank you so much for opening your home to us. I'm dreaming of that mocha you made me...the pastries were delish, your home is amazing, the scrap "store" is WOW, your family and friends are "wicked awesome." Thank you again for your kind hospitality.

(Holly's going to show me up and mail thank yous and video games, I know it!).

i'm going to go over to the place some time next week and check it out. we thought it would be too much to do it before christmas so we are thinking March. we want to do it on a weekend that does not conflict with your and feb is bubba's birthday weekend so we moved to March. and that way maybe the weather will be ok!? when is your cape cod meet?

maybe?????

Holly - thanks so much for the great Halloween stuff! It is perfect, as I've been telling everyone lately that I HAVE to start scrapping 19 years worth of Halloween pics! I have terrific supplies now, but just have to DO IT!

Jennifer - thanks for the vinyl - I can't wait to try that "snow" card - it was so cool looking! I'm going to stake out my Staples and see if I can find more.

Here's the baked brie recipe - I got it second-hand (when, at a party, I begged the woman who brought it for the recipe!). I tinkered with it a bit but it is based on one by Paula Deen (not my fave, but this brie is marvelous!) It is very easy to make and can be served with a variety of crackers or sliced breads.

Baked Brie (or Brie En Croute for the fancy folks!)

1 sheet of frozen puff pastry (I use Pepperidge Farms)
1 6" (8-oz) wheel of brie

2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/2 cup of walnuts, whole or chopped, your preference (I usually break them up a bit.)
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg

Defrost one puff pastry (there are usually two in the box) for about an hour. I usually wrap the frozen pastry rectangle in a dry paper towel and set it out on the counter to thaw - don't try to unfold it until it is thawed and soft.

Preheat oven to 375°F. In a small saucepan, melt the butter and saute the walnuts in the butter until they release their scent and start to turn golden brown - about 5-6 minutes. Sprinkle in the cinnamon, stir well to coat, and saute for another minute or two. Turn off and remove from heat.

Place a piece of foil on a cookie sheet and spray it with a non-stick vegetable spray. (I usually forget this step, but it is important!) Unfold the puff pastry and lay it out on your sprayed foil. Center the unwrapped brie the best you can on the pastry and pour the walnut mixture on top of the brie. Sprinkle the brown sugar on top of the walnuts - try to cover the entire top of the brie and don't worry if some goes over the sides.

Fold up the sides of the pastry around the brie and fold down the top. Press gently to seal. (You could get decorative with the folds or add bits of cut off pastry to make designs on top, too.) That part is up to you!

Beat the egg in a small cup and brush it over the entire pastry, also getting some of it into the pastry seams (the egg helps glue the pastry together). Bake on the middle rack in your oven for about 20 minutes until the pastry is golden-brown. Carefully, lift the baked brie off of your (sprayed!) foil with a large spatula and place it on your serving plate. Stick a knife or spreader into it or put one nearby so the warm brie can be sliced off and spread onto your crackers or bread. Serves about 8 people. Enjoy!

Aw *shucks* everybody...:flower3:

I loved having everyone over. Thanks for my goodies. The food was
awesome, the company was great, and MM and Po3 even met Peanut;)

You certainly are all invited over again, Bubba's got to get a chance to play with that other bunch of legos.

Dh had the last bunch of meatballs for lunch and the kids finished up the pizza strips last night

Flint was so sad when everyone left - :sad1:

The house felt empty last night.

I hope we get to do it again really soon:cloud9:

thanks for being a great hostess!!!!
can Mr. Tinkerbean please send me some of those pics?

Thank you for the recipe, Pam. I'm definitely going to make it, either next weekend or the one after!

Poor Flint, I'm surprised he could walk after all those extra C-double-O-K-I-E-S. Funny boy!

i've never had baked brie. i was too afraid to try it. but it smelled and looked really yummy. so i think i'll make it and try it. jennifer said it was really good.

poor flint. he was probably looking for us today. so he could have extra cookies. i loved him.

PO3, you are funny! I didn't think I liked brie, at first either. People talked about it "needing to be runny before it was good..." (Ewwww...yuk!) so I couldn't bring myself to try it. But this recipe is super good and a nice combination of cinnamon, butter, pastry, and a creamy very mild cheese taste. YUM!

Z2H and I would love to have y'all over to our place (since now you know how to get to our city!) - maybe one of the Saturdays in January after the craziness of the holidays is over and we're all broke with nothing to do?!? (We don't know when Lisa's crops are....but could work around that and Bubba's b-day.) I think Bubba would love to see the kids again and play with Legos and such in what I swear is the local branch of Toys R Us... and since Grace and Morgan are about the same age, they would really enjoy each other if she's able to come along too. Let's see what we can pull together - and March would probably be great for us for a regional crop at a bigger place near you...just let us know what you find out about the hall.
Pam
