A Gem of a trip-quality, clarity, color and "Cut that out!" completed 8/4

How cruel! I can't believe you left off like that! I won't be able to read the next one!

Well, I've had those panic moments...flashback to AK trying to get on KS...huge line and huge FP line. :scared1:

Try and slow up the installments so I can catch up quicker when I get back. ;)

I did the unthinkable. I questioned my original plan.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

This spells trouble. I just know it.

I love telling so called Disney veterans about my little color coded Excel spreadsheets, my subscription to TGM, and such. They all say something stupid like "its not a vacation if you have to plan every minute."

By stopping to think I became one of "them". You know the people who spend the crucial part of their day at the park deciding what to do.

Yep... "them" are the so called Disney veterans I spoke about. ;)

I promised myself I wouldn't do that. But I did. Worse even, I was aware at the time of what I was doing and compromising and well… that made me panic all the more.

I have a couple of those moments, too. Once, on my first trip to Disney, I walked around Dumbo 4 or 5 times looking for the Fastpass distribution kiosk. :rolleyes1

I just caught up on your whole TR. I agree with the other posters...I'm sure your dh has some wonderful redeeming qualities...but I'm not sure that I would have been able to bite my tongue.:sad2: I'm not good with trying to keep my thoughts in my head sometimes...lol. And I think that there is absolutely no issue with who your son likes as his favorite character...none at all. My 3 year old ds likes her too...and LOVES the movie.:lovestruc I'm sorry that the weather was such a struggle the whole time. I'm loving all of your pictures and think you have a lovely family.

oh my word, another cliff hanger! I can't take it, I think I may have a meltdown:rotfl2: Second guessing yourself:sad2: what were you thinking:scared1: Can't wait to hear how it all turns out.

I say you join the line...a 25 minute wait isn't THAT bad...but I'm further guessing that it was a lot longer than a 25 minute wait...which leads to another classic Diamond meltdown

You big tease!
:teacher: Never, ever doubt the plan. :rotfl2: You do see the irony in me saying that, right?
Actually I think that touring plans was right on the money as far as which park when. We were just fortunate to be there during a slow time. I never even thought of doing TSM without the FP. I wasn't going to waste time waiting in stanby while everything else was a walk-on.

Okay you got me for a moment there. Dumbo doesn't have fast pass kiosks right? Welcome over to the "Diamond" side.

So did you ride???? :hyper: Get FP's???? popcorn::

You know how you kept the fact that you slept in the castle suite a secret for like pages of your trip report? Well consider this payback. Speaking of your report I haven't posted on it lately but I am still following along.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. So glad you piped up and let me know you were reading! Yes my Dh has his moments, both good and bad but then don't we all. For instance Dh is great about Eeoyre's unboyish tendencies and since he owns his own business he is actually with the kids more than I am (I do see them at our school but since he picks them up most days he spends more out of school time with them than I do). I have my own major Mommy meltdown coming up soon.

You see, we're wearing off on you.

Hmm... very logical guess but you'll just have to wait and see.

Yes, I totally do. I remember your report.

We did throw the touring plans out the window on the tropical storm days. There just wasn't anybody in the parks. But free dining was starting in two day and the crowds were perking up.

How I would love to go there in a quiet time. I guess I will have to wait until I retire.

Cindy just wanted to say "Hi" and tell you all that she changed her character in my signature.

:rotfl2: OK you got me back :rotfl2: My report is all finished now except for hopefully a few links to newspaper articles :goodvibes

Hi Cindy :wave2: I love your new siggie character :thumbsup2

:wave2: Hi Cindy!!:butterfly
From Daisy :daisy:

Hi Cindy I love your new siggie character

"That's to me?" Cindy asked when she read it.

"Yup, it sure is. See you've got fans"

"Aww Mom..." Cindy blushes as she hides her smile in her shoulder and takes off in the direction of the Corey in the House theme song. Perhaps it's one she hasn't seen yet.

That all sounds good! You will have so much fun, it's so romantic at Epcot :love2: And the drinking can begin when the WS opens girlfriend!! :jester:

We had the Grand Marnier (orange) and Grey Goose (lemon) slushies and they were so good. Lucky Man says they're bigger than they look but not a lot of liquor in it - as I had an entire drink and did not feel it and if I have a beer (yes even one :lmao: )I do feel it :drinking1

Def. have a margarita at the Cantina in Mexico ~ I loved their nachos and LM liked the combo platter there though he says to tell you he burped for seven hours afterwards. Churros were awesome. That's where we watched Illuminations - when LMwent back for the churros for dessert they were closed but the nice CM gave him two for us anyway, that was :thumbsup2 .

You go girl!!! You and DH are going to have a wonderful time.
Your plan sounds just perfect. I'm super jealous about the deluxe dining plan. I'm going to have to try that some day.

DH and I go to Disney sans kids and just have a ball doing what we want to do. There are no children in our family of 4 (DH and I plus two kitties :cat: :cat: ) so vacationing is different for us. Still I just love reading your trip reports. Hope you post more soon! Enjoy your trip... it sounds wonderful!!!:cloud9:

"What's the big deal about this ride? Can't we just come back later when there is no lineup?" Nanny inquires in an angry exasperated tone that rarely comes from her.

All eyes turn on me.

Poppa looks at me and then Nanny and then back to me. I can tell he is sizing up the situation, as it is rare to hear Nanny snap like that. Poppa and I both know that the rare times she does snap there is hell to pay and since we are the two people closest to her we are most likely to pay it.

As he meets my eyes I can tell he is sending me a warning. He is telling me that I've teetering on the edge of pissing Nanny off. We have been rushing faster than she can go quite alot lately. Okay his eyes don't tell me that last part. My guilt does.

His eyes soften, as he can read my panic. He knows I really want to do this ride and above all he has faith in me and my plan.

I'll take a moment out here to expand on that last statement. I'm truly blessed to have a Father that believes in me. I know not everyone has that in their life. It's not that Nanny doesn't believe in me. My relationship with Nanny has always been different-as it should be perhaps it is a Mother/daughter thing versus a Father/daughter thing. I just know that Poppa and I can hear each other without talking. That I just feel better being in his presence. That he loves me regardless of whether we go on this ride or not.

Everyone is still waiting.

Remember it is still raining. Not hard but enough to add dramatic effect.

And I'm thinking.

Thinking about how long it is going to take me to get through the fast pass line.

Thinking about how although the regular queue says "25 minute wait" on it that since the lineup is out the door there is no way it is only a 25-minute wait.

Thinking about how the plan is to get out of the park after lunch and how I don't want a fast pass return for 2:30 anyway because we can't use it.

All my thinking is tampered by the tone of my mother's voice.

Suddenly I'm thirteen again I doubt myself. I'm tired and I'm sick of holding it all together while the kids crumble around me. Maybe it's my time to crumble.

Feeling overwhelmed and discouraged I meet Poppa's eyes again. They seem to say, "It's all okay Kiddo. Whatever you choose I will gladly do." In other words Poppa reminds me that what matters is that we are all here together as a family. Not whether we go on some new ride or not.

I notice Cindy leans into Poppa and he gently pats her shoulder. I melt and not because of the rain.

Does it really matter what we do?

Why am I making such a big deal out of it?

"How about we head into the lineup? At least it is out of the rain and if it is too long we'll just leave?" I suggest hopefully a little perkier than I feel.

Dh and Poppa jump into action quickly and start helping the kids make their way through the crowds into the queue for the ride.

Nanny's eyebrows meet. She hesitates for a moment.

"Come on Mom. I'll walk with you" I jokingly put my arm around her. Never one for public display of affection she shrugs it off. But as she does it she makes a grunting noise I take to mean "I'm joking with you again because all is forgiven".

We all file into the ride.

One big happy dysfunctional but loving family.:grouphug:

I just found out that T-Rex is not on the DDP so we're going to Wolfgang puck instead.

I'm hoping the drinking will bring on the romance. As you all know Dh is not exactly romantic in the traditional sort of way anyhow. Think we skip the mexican food though. Burping is NOT romantic!

I'm adding those drinks to my list.

You go girl!!! You and DH are going to have a wonderful time.

Glad to see a post from you again! I know the Deluxe plan is way too much food but since it is a short trip I wanted to go for it.

You're leaving in 6 days for POP WOW! I'n nervous about going to POP. I really loved the Allstars and I keep picturing them in my head but I'm afraid I woud miss the kids so I wanted to go to a place that wouldn't remind me of them.

Wow Diamond! That was beautifully written. I'm glad things were defused. I know what you mean about father/mother-daughter relationships.

I'm super excited about our trip! We've been to the Pop before and just loved it. It is a really fantastic resort. You and DH will love it! Make sure to get a picture of yourself next to the "This year in history...." sign for the year your were born. You could also get one for each of your kids too!

Thanks for the sweet comment about that last installment Maplegirl.

I'll be sure and get the sign of the year I was born. I might not post it though because then everyone will know which birthday this is!
