A fixed week question

If I were to buy a fixed week...lets just say week 49, 1 bedroom lakeview, VGF.

This accommodation is not available this year. So what happens this year? Do I have to wait until 2015? Do they pull if from cash inventory?

Do you have to purchase a fixed week more than 11 months out to avoid this?

If they are selling it, you're guaranteed to get it this year.

The room is most likely held by Disney, maybe they turn it into a cash reservation 2-3 months out. But I'm guessing they leave some rooms empty just in case.

You buy it, you get it. DVD has something up their sleeve to accommodate fixed week buyers.

For this year you would get the points, not the fixed week and you would be on your own to make a reservation or bank the points.

FYI - prices are increasing to $165 per point on 5/28.

And did they do this last year for people who bought after booking was allowed?

VGF is very, very small. If they blacked all of the possible fixed week sales dates, non fixed week people could not get a reservation.

If the OP buys a fixed week contract, for this year that week is fully booked and they aren't going to bump someone with an existing reservation.

Next year their week is taken out of the inventory automatically which will reduce the number of rooms available during that week for others.

They can't give it to someone if it's not available at all. It's possible they might have undeclared inventory or cash reservations they could use but otherwise it's points for this year unless they held the inventory out to match it to the sale.
