I've never been one to YAGE - that is simply not my style. I have always been of the belief that fading into the background and leaving without a big hoopla is much preferable to stamping one's feet and saying they are leaving and never coming back.
That being said, this isn't a YAGE. I just want to ... state a few feelings that have been stirring inside of my head.
I have been a member of the DIS for almost 3 years now (well, it'll be 3 years in January). When I first joined, I was happy to find a place where I could share my love of Disney with many other people. It was a warm, supportive group, which was very nice. Dan Murphy, who I still very much respect, was one of the first people I met on here in person.
Then I had a DIS meet, and I met many other people - some of whom I still keep in touch with to this day. Why? Because they are the real deal. In my "travels" with them, I met other people. Other people that I like. Other people that I respect.
They say their opinions. They tell it like it is. Much like I like to do.
Does it make me a bad person because I associate with these people? No. Not at all. I have met these people in real life. They have been there for me to support me in times of trouble. Celebrated when times were good. And in the long run, I -know- these are my true friends.
And you want to know what true friends do? They back each other up. They are there for each other. And therefore, I will always be there for my friends.
Some may think that it's a "posse" mentality. I hardly call it that.
I call it being a friend.
