A few races and food, some theme parks and food, and a cruise...

Oh I am not up to when that happened but send prayers to you Michelle that everything turns out okay How horrifying from the pictures :sad2: so sorry

Molly I took your advice & got a Happy Girl skirt on amazon along with a few books by Jeff Galloway They should be here this coming week Glad to find a longer skirt These thighs are NOT getting into a micro-mini anything

I was very happy to meet Jeff and took notes like a fiend that evening I would have loved to join one of the Run/Walk/Run training groups in my area but the time just doesn't work for my life

I would have definitely gotten "it" the dress/devil Miss Molly :rotfl:

I hope you like it!

Good to know *someone* in the world would have gotten it. :) I was obviously at a party with people who were way too young and silly.

How is Loren dealing with being a hero? :)

Molly,

He isn't really sure he likes it. I think he may not like me when he finds out that I sent a letter to the editor of the local paper asking what makes a hero and it's about him.

I see on our news when something like this happens there is usually a special hero award presented by the local fire department Your son certainly is a hero he may be feeling pretty overwhelmed by it all almost like a post trauma you know ? OR he's just feeling that he loves his family and didn't do anything that anyone else wouldn't have done Special kid any way you look at it

I decided the other day to send my blog post about what makes a hero to our local paper as a letter to the editor. The features editor called me earlier because she had read my letter. It touched her deeply and she wants to do a feature article about Loren. So I guess this week they are going to sit down and talk to him. I am so glad I sent that in.

I think I would have done the exact same thing I'm sure it did touch her How could it not? I'll keep watching to hear what happens :thumbsup2

Goodnight

Goodnight

I will post a link as soon as there is one available for sure!

Have I mentioned that we're going to do Pirates League on our MK day? I think the reservation is early enough that E will be able to take part in the parade they have for PL kids. I'm going to be a mermaid, if they still have the mermaid option by then. :) Hopefully I won't sweat it all off, so I can still be a mermaid for our late-night Be Our Guest dinner!

I can't decide if I need to slow down the training. The Galloway training plan has us at so few miles compared to where I already am. I don't want to do so much I hurt myself! But then I look at my brother, who runs a ton every single day.

Then again, his knees are NOT happy with him, and he's younger than me. (he has run probably 15 years longer than I did though)

My other factor is that I earn activity points with the running, and I EAT those. If I don't do the running, I don't earn them, and I don't get to have the same dessert. On the other hand, if I don't do as much running I'm not as hungry as I am when I do all the running. Maybe the serving of peanuts and a bunch of raspberries would have sufficed tonight, had I not run so long, and I wouldn't have felt the need for the serving of ice cream.

Back and forth, all day long, even while doing a longer run than Galloway suggests for this week......

I think I'm going to go to bed early. The kiddo did; ended up with a nasty headache after we got home from the Y, ate a small dinner and fell asleep on the couch. An hour later I carried him to bed (yep, carried, jinkies...kid's 74 lbs!) when it seemed he wouldn't be waking up any time soon. I think I shall join him in slumber. Literally, as his bed was covered in Lego so he's in the big bed! (file that under "things I should have checked out BEFORE picking up the 74 lbs of sleeping boy")

Molly, I hope you managed to get a good sleep.

The best advice I can give is listen to your body. If you feel you can run more than the Galloway plan look into other ½ marathon training plans. I don’t know for sure, but I thought there was a Galloway plan for runners who have already been running for at least 6 months that might fit better to where you are in your miles. I started out with his plan, than morphed it into my own. :)

Just as I was getting up to sleep, he woke up. And woke up HUNGRY. So we had to stay up for a couple hours. And then he went to clear off his own bed, so didn't have the little furnace next to me, LOL.

Thanks!

I've been looking at the "finish in an upright position" plan, which is in between the beginner and the "time" one. And I have the 10-miler plan and Half plan printed, and I'm writing on each to see where they intersect so I can start the Half training in earnest after the TOT run. Seems a natural progression with a decent amount of time between Oct and Jan.

I think that right now I'm going to stay at around the same mileage; all of my body parts aren't quite at the same level of fitness as the others, and I'd like to get them to match up. :) Sticking with the same plan for a few weeks at a time served me well last year doing the couch to 5k program, so I figure it'll work out now, too.

Your post helped me as a jumping-off spot for thinking it out, so thank you!!!!!

Why are kids bodies so hot?

So, we have started the heinous yet exciting chore of picking the things out for the rebuild. I am thrilled yet daunted by it. I never realized just how choices there are out there. Oh my gosh! I brought home 6 different catalogs for kitchen cabinets alone. Then tile.....oh my gosh. I need to decide on tile for a 1900 foot 5 bedroom house. Not to mention paint colors and on and on. I never realized the work before. On a high note I did pick out what stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, washer and dryer that I want. Oh the fun!

Hi Molly! Just found your Pre-TR.

My family and I will be in WDW for the ToT 10 miler, although I won't be running it. We're there for the Food and Wine Festival! :drinking1

But I also wanted to add that I ran my first Disney race(s) last January, and it was SO much fun! I did the Goofy Challenge...my knee got hurt during the full, but I finished! But the atmosphere of so many Disney fanatics excited about running is so cool.

I'm doing the DLR Dumbo in a few weeks so that should be neat too, and I'll be getting my Coast to Coast. Because of my knee I won't be running the WDW marathon this year, but I might go watch some of my friends. One of my best friends is doing the Dopey! :faint:

Hey Molly & everybody

so the Amazon pkg arrived but with a crazy week I just tried on the Happy Girl skirt this morning what can I say I am a Happy Girl :cool1: love that zippered pocket too, glad I read your recommendation One less thing to stress about w/Princess 1/2 in Feb :)

Hello hello!

Don't tell me you're old enough to indulge in the wine part of F&W, please? OK fine you can tell me. I'd just gotten used to the idea of you being in college.

On the other hand, you're a bit young for bum knees! Take care of those, they're important. :)

Oh I'm so glad you like it! The more I wear mine, the more I despise my shorter Target run skirts. They are cute, in cute design and nice fabric, but ugh, so short.
