A few questions

Wow so there are a few of us qld'ers here :) we are going over next year to do a Carribean Disney cruise, our plan is spend a few days in Orlando then the cruise then spend 8 nights at wdw then 8 nights in NY. I went to America with my parents when I was a teenager but it will be DH and the kids first os holiday. I would love to hear about your cruises to help prepare us :) we are hoping to travel concierge as well we are patiently waiting for sept 15 dates to be released so we can pounce and book it.

Hey Brisbanemum nice to hear from you :)

This heat is a shocker isn't it!!! Hopefully we get some relief soon.

I can't wait for our trip. We leave BNE on May 2. We've been to the States before (& love it) but haven't been to the East side. So any tips you could offer on Orlando/WDW would be great. I'm struggling with how much to budget for food. We have 2 kids, 12 & 9 & they eat a lot more than they did the last time we were there. I've kind of worked on $200USD per day which includes lots of character dinings, Disney dining & treats etc. We tend to have the opinion of not going without when we are on holidays :-)

Do you think this will be enough? We are not extravagent eaters but love our drinks & kids love desserts :-) Am hoping my DD9 & I will able to share some meals.

We are only doing a 4nt on the Dream as my DS & I get terrible seasick, so it is a tester for us :-) I was going to change us to the new Magic ( in a 1 bedroom also) as it would've saved us quite a bit but my DD has her heart set on the Aquaduck and was freaked out by the look of the Aquadunk! Kids!!! :rolleyes1

I will let you know how our cruise & the rest of the trip goes :-) I've written down your dis name so I can message you when we get back (or while we are there if we get time).

Enjoy the planning for your Dec trip. Hope you snag some great airfares :goodvibes pixiedust:

I'll send you a pm with my facebook details once I reach 10 posts here on disboards :) I've got heaps of photos from our last trip there.

I am the queen of budgeting for holidays lol I plan and organise everything for our little family and make sure I don't miss even the smallest $$ needed. On our last trip, we had US$200 a day for Orlando and DisneyWorld food. However, this time around we are upping the Disney budget to US$250 per day. (still $200 for Orlando) I'm sure this amount sounds crazy to others however as we stay at a Disney resort and have no car while at DW, we are having to buy every meal and snack there. Last time we ended up going to character dinings every day by the end of the trip which for our family of 4 costs about $150-$200 on their own. We also don't want to be restricted on choices while on holiday :thumbsup2

Oh you sound like me!! I have everything down to the last dollar it seems lol
Sounds like we should be fine with our $200 per day then as some days we will spend more than that (character dinings) & other days we will spend less. We are doing 3ns at Universal after cruise, then 3 nts at Disneys Beach Club to get a taste of staying onsite then we are moving to a private villa for 20nts so we will have the best of both worlds :-)

We will do a few meals in the villa (not many though as we love eating in America lol) & will do some cheap places like Dennys, IHOP, Cracker Barrel etc
Today we just got our cabana booked for our Castaway Cay day on the cruise pixiedust: so excited!!

I would love to see your pics!! Thank you so much. If I pm you can you then reply? I will go ahead & do it & you can try :-)

I tried to reply you you both, but still can't pm yet :(

but if you want to send another pm with your facebook details, I can add you guys straight away :thumbsup2

Have you Aussies got tables in wonderland. It is card that you buy which gives you 20% off all sit down meals including alcohol. You really need to look into it. The amount you would save would pay for the card. You get them at guest services. You can look it on on the WDW website.

This is only available to Florida residents or an Annual Pass holders. So, if anyone plans to buy an AP, it would definitely save some money at WDW.
